I think that the Recoil is a good overal biginners rc boat! and the Minidom is for the hobbyist among us, who wanna tinker and tune stuff 😁 great comparison vid Bigb👍👌🏾
i love to see you running those boats but i need some tuneups because i have two outlaws jr here and like i want to run them on 6s on 1900kv motor's brussles
Good video. I think that for a newbie the biggest factor would be the price. They would be happy with either one but the stock mini Dom with the hull you have is roughly $400. The recoil 2 is $200 . So it depends on what a person is willing to pay and what features matter most. You did a great job showing that. Thanks big b. Bg4l
Nice little shootout for 2nd place, no need to pull the mini champion out. The Aquacraft Mini Mono would just make them look like toys.. lol. Still waiting on the carbon fiber version to come out!
Hey big B what was the blunt carbon turn fin causing the boat to do ? I just noticed my carbon fibre turn fin in my biggest rigger has damage on it. An this boat is torque steering to the right and the right sponson is digging in on the RH turns.
The CF fins seemed to be lifting the transom at high speed, pushing the bow down. Almost acting like trim tabs rather than turn fins probably because the mini dom is so lightweight.. ran good with the aluminum fins
I tried an aluminum turn fin today on my biggest rigger,it didn’t help. Such a Bummer. I have almost tied everything in this thing to stop it torque steering to the right under power. next thing I’ll try is no fin. Probably be really bad but it’s also biting in when I corner to the right. So the curve might be pulling it down but I tried adjusting it up. It just started doing this torque steering under power for what seams to be for no reason. I’ve tried new higher kg steering servo,A new strut bush, more fin angle and now a new fin, more sponson angle of attack,A different propeller,A different receiver, A battery instead of the Bec and eliminated all play in the rudder and strut. Also tried changing the strut angle both up and down and side to side. The sponsons are 10 mm further from the tub on the LHS than the RHS, oh and I tried moving the water cooling supply tube that sits in the prop thrust across to the LH side of centre of the prop. I am almost ready to throw it in the trash.
