Great to see more compound delete videos from my favourite RU-vid machinist. I’m stalled on my Boxford compound delete but this is giving me some inspiration. Thanks.
Nice job Ade; re. .. 20:41 - 21.09.. tut tut Ade, fingers near rotating cutter, again, I know we've all done it, including me, but it's on screen & it makes me squirm. May I suggest that you always have a pencil/scriber in you fingers when pointing out something that close to a rotating cutter. 👍
Ades, it's nice to you, at it again. The last time, I made a comment. It was about ,do you like your current Mill. About 3 1/2yrs ago, I got this Mini Mill. I terribly need a different Mill with more table movement. Also, the 3 axis DRO. Also a quill for depth cutting. Happy for your holidays and have a great new year!! 😊
Nice to see You. The work done by a toolmaker..... excellent. Time 04:00, and earlier. I'll try that on blades like that. On tools using inserts it's not safe. By some reason aligning the insert with the chuck has been more reliable. Sometimes, somehow, somewhere there's an angle.
Any video on the DRO scale mounting of the X axis on this lathe? I'm wrestling with some clearance / space issues on my little lathe and your approach looks interresting
Abe, I fitted a carriage lock to the left of my mini lathe saddle. The theory being that it is near to where the cutting forces are as opposed to the more frequent but easier right side. It works realy well and only requires a gentle nip to lock it. I used the travelling steady bolt holes so if you do this, you may need to sandwich your DRO. I could send you a photo but lord knows how ypu do that in YT comments.
David Fenner, an ex-editer of ME Workshop, just has an L shaped block of Aluminium screwed onto the end of the rear saddle leg that you lock as you would a saddle stop. A lot less work than you are proposing. It works the same as the saddle stop on a Myford.
Hi I have watched and enjoyed your videos for some time, but now there is a 35 sec ad before viewing so I have decided to unsubscribe and not watch your content.
I don't think he has any say about that, I understand that RU-vid started running ads on even non-monetized channels. If you watch over a PC, there are browsers with built in adblockers ... Avast and Brave/Dissenter, to name a few.
Hi Dave . my apologies for the Ads. Truth is that it is the only thing that allows me to pay perhaps 10% of my costs . Adblockers are great as other commenters have said . Cheers Ade.
Hi Ade, thanks for the reply, i do enjoy your vids and i am aware of how much work goes into them and i wish you well. If I use an adblocker does that affect your income? that is not my intention. Keep making them.
