Strength training is what got me to like working out as a fellow past hater! I like feeling strong and feeling my muscles move! I realized I just need to not pass my own limits and then the gym is a playground!

That is what the weather is like down there! It usually rains around 2 in my experience so we would go to the beach early in the day or at dinner time

I think with the authenticity aspect, in my opinion anyway, when I see a content creator (whether on RU-vid or Insta etc) post a mix of both their amazing, highlight worthy moments as well as their low moments or struggles it make me believe more so that the content is authentic or 'genuine', where as when it's just amazing moments and brand trips and all the 'good' side to social media it does make me think as a viewer to take what they're saying with a pinch of salt. For me, the mix of both makes it feel like the creator wants to make a connection with their audience and show the 'real' side to a creator's life, to show people that it's not all glitz and glam and life isn't necessarily any better or more fulfilling having a life that isn't just a 9-5.

Yes PLEASE show your up moments! They are authentic and real and the mix is what makes it "authentic". Also, I would never want you to focus in your lows just because that is what people connect with. This is your life after all and if you only focus on low, then that is in the focus of your life as well. You don’t make content about things, you make content about yourself.

i relate SO HARD to not being able to get sore working upper body but working hard on upper body exercises. i’ve upped the weight i use and less reps, and that helped me. we’re stronger than we think 🧡 what helps me is lifting with my best friend now so it’s fun and we laugh and joke and have a grand ol time. love you mary

Mary, loved this video! I myself think that people may comment that on your videos because we are so used to the happy and overly positive influencers on instagram and sometimes even here, that when a creator is vulnerable and shows something different than the usual, it feels way more genuine. It is very important when you post your difficult moments because personally I deal with cyclothymia, which is something similar to bpd, so when you talk about it, it really makes me feel seen and understood, but also I really value when you show your happy moments because it does give me a lot of hope! Keep the good content coming, I enjoy these vlogs so so much! btw sorry for my grammar, I am from Uruguay.

Arms are quick to fail so it’s hard to build muscle up there especially for women who are naturally weaker in our upper bodies so Matt may not relate. I find I’m able to push myself on every other part but arms just give out quick. I’d try super sets, lighter weights and more reps, or getting a spot. Also you look so beautiful! And I’ve been loving the vlogs and podcast!

Hey Mary, I enjoy your content and think you're a really thoughtful and intentional content creator - which we need in the social media space. As you said in your podcast, social media isn't going away so we might as well learn how to use the tool effectively and resourcefully and I think that is what you do! You mentioned that people comment that sometimes your "down moments" feel the most authentic, I wouldn't give those comments much attention. Another content creator I love a lot (Hitomi Mochizuki) says similar things, in terms that viewers enjoy or are "more entertained" by her spiraling videos or down moments because they're more "relatable" or "genuine" but those, I don't think, are supportive viewers! So don't get in your head too much, those who sincerely enjoy you and your content will stick around and be supportive
