One guy wrote a comment on one of my videos about how he was getting into the 10s of thousands, but i dont remember what he said - haha. The big takeaway i had from his comment was that if you got any double warehouses it was impossible.
@@S2isDrawingDead On the leader board for LA someone got 225K 🤔 I did see a YT clip of a guy that 71K on LA. He didn't show the entire construction, just the last few minutes as it was drawing to an end.
Another big thing is that he can save on roads on the little island if he chunks it as little bits of 1 road instead of a long continuous one and still block off the area
My main strategic change has been caring much more about travel distance. I think too often we fret about different colours on the same lines but if you have two colours travelling short distances there are on average less cars out on the roads at any given time. And the distance really changes how many houses you need to sustain a building, 1 house easily handles a square early game if it's reasonably close.
There is definitely something to that. A car won't leave its house until there is a order that needs filling. so cars long distances away cant leave early in preparation. I think to run really well you almost want roads being used by only one warehouse. Definitely when i swapped to trying to separate by colour it was a poor style for a while, but i'm finding it is working well for me now
@@S2isDrawingDead It's I think a good aspect of the balance of this game that you can get to 2000 when doing the colour splitting or by trying to design an actual 'road system'. But yeah the highest scores probably come from very particular splitting up lines to colours, but even then I think 1 colour is sometimes overkill for a line. Sometimes you maybe shouldn't even think about colours and just 'cars per line' because the biggest problems I've had is congestion from single coloured lines like you started having with purple in this game.
It feels like the game cheats with timing once you get higher in the delivery count. I had a stop that was square and being directly fed by 2 houses that was perfectly fine all game time out on me once.
Simply fascinating! I care too much about aesthetics but I am trying to get over it. I like to draw "realistic" junctions with squary town-roads. Usually at the 1000 mark I will face inevitable death. Here you showed a nice example how the segregation makes a difference when it comes to performance! (But luckily this game can still be played kinda in a chilly way without caring too much about death.)
I did wonder early on if an atheistic build was the actual right way to go. Make the factories/houses adapt to a well structured road system rather than the road system adapting to the buildings. But i couldnt work out how that would look or work, and eventually the segregation just took over
I tried it for one level, thinking it would be nicer on my eyes, but found the opposite and shifted it back. Most browsers, and social medias i do dark mode though
I play the game on dark mode too, otherwise it feels like my eyes burn like a vampire in sunlight. But it sucks that the rivers and mountains are black too
Nice layout and great score. :-) It's cool seeing your thought process - your videos are the better ones I have found on Mini Motorways. Too many "let's play" videos of people giving tips never cracking past 1200 lol. Question: Did ya forget about all those roads on your island that were placed early (between purple on bottom right + pink), or was it intentional to keep houses from spawning in on it? Just kept thinking about the amount of times you were in need of roads and I was thinking they were right there.
Thank you! and yes, 100% i forgot about that island. When i was choosing the picture for the video i noticed the island was still blocked out. I could argue it was intentional, since that would have definitely had yellow houses spawn on it, and even at the end it is no where near a yellow factory, but i had a motorway to a group of 3 yellow houses in the bottom left, so if more than 3 yellow houses spawned on that island they would have had motorway value
Rose gold should b called bad ham, ham, or spam. You are excellent at this game! You got a sub from me. Also if you could zoom in or use a pointer that is higher viability, it helps us with small screens and/or bad eye sight. TIA I've noticed that using diagonals uses less road pieces
I don't usually write comments, but great video. Got this recommended after watching Drae (old name Draegast) play the game. Other than that I think the mic is somewhat quiet, and I have to max out my phone volume to understand it fully, I think that it's very good video.
So it’s possible to reach a point where your factories reach their limit and as long as you have enough houses feeding into them the game will run forever without adjustment. At that point it’s just waiting to rack up score, about 25k points per hour of waiting around. I found that about 13 factories is the optimal number to sustain. I have gotten 44,444 points on the Los Angeles map and 20,000 points on the Beijing map. I’m on the Tokyo map right now and I have a game going. I’m planning to stop at 9,999 since scores higher than that don’t show up on the leaderboards? Anyways I found out that if a double factory appears, your basically eventually going to die since those clog up no matter what you do or how efficiently. Plan efficiently and and try to control the area where factories spawn and you can do it too! This is only my third day playing :)
yep, I thought of this potential strategy as soon as I saw gameplay of this game. Cool that I don't even need to buy the game to know that it works now, thanks.
@@dhirenchander2469 in my head, if you just waited until you a decent but manageable amount of factories and then blocked off any more factories spawning with roads (obviously you need enough roads) you could just connect as many houses as you could to the factories and the demand would never increase, right?
@Devid Nijdam yeh but once they do that you're all good. You can block factories from spawning while still having room for houses so if the factories level up you'll still have heaps of houses for them.
@Kitcat i wasnt saying it should be completely hidden all the time, i meant maybe a hotkey or something you would hold down to toggle on and off visibility of the motorway.
Very impressive!!! Nice job man! I just recently found this game on my RU-vid recommended and this is the highest score I’ve seen, and on a difficult map like Tokyo too!
Couldn't you have used your island as your sacrificial pool? Only borrowing and replacing one segment at a time? I'd imagine you'd only leave spaces big enough for the AI to plop down single houses.
Could you heighten your voice volume? :P It's pretty low. If you use OBS, it should be pretty easy. I also think there's a setting to lower game volume whenever you speak.
I think that color is mauve, a pinkish purple. But I don't want to be a color police. Call it yellow if you want lol. I've heard another player call it "that ham color" so there's that too. 😂
So does this mean that if a pin is on a store. It can only be from a house that has direct access to it? I always make sure every pink house can get to every pink store assuming that pins for a house can spawn on every store so they need access
The pin doesnt belong to a specific house, its a lot friendlier a system than that. If you have a pink store and it hets an order, the closest parked pink car will take the order. Another order comes in - and that closest car is still away from home, it will go to the next. And so on and so on. So there is definitely an advantage to not having all pink houses on the line. A few close houses can take care of most of it
@@S2isDrawingDead That was very helpful advice! I focused on Tokyo cause it just appealed to me. It was the third city i played and with only 3/4 hours in the game i was very happy to make it past 2k. Just barely but made it haha
Nice work. Can I make one kind suggestion: Be a bit more descriptive when talking about matters. What I mean is when you say things like "I'm going to connect theses guys to this" or words to that effect., you obviously know exactly what you are looing at and you know where your pointer is. But as a viewer, most of the times it is impossible to see what it is that you are specifically referring to.
I find it rlly cool how u reply/ pin most comments. It’s rlly refreshing to see a RU-vid care ab their community this much ( not begging for a reply or pin I’m simply showing my appreciation)
Ill tell you what its terrifying, seeing a whole bunch of comments are coming through and bracing for a wave of negative remarks. To then see how lovely almost all of them are is truly humbling.
@@S2isDrawingDead I bets it’s scary, but I can’t see a single reason why anyone would leave hate. The video was done very well and u were very good at explaining what was being done. Just earned an extra sub :)
I just re-started this map. At Week 6 you had 4 Bridges and 3 Motorways. At Week 6 I have just 3 Bridges (I've taken every one on offer) and absolutely no Motorways. I don't think my prospects are looking to bright 😎
I managed to limp through to Week 8 before I got a Motorway. Then somehow I was able to tease my way through to finally finish into Week 13, still with only 1 Motorway having ever being offered and only scoring 1,490.
Is that how the game is intended to play? If not, then the developers need to patch these exploits. There’s a difference between strategy and exploit in the game system/level design not intended by the game’s designers
