This week Casey and Brent talk mini painting putty and what the absolute best one is. Turns out, they are not made equally!

Annnndddd big thank you to Brent. This weekend I was at the store looking at what putty I could use and decided to do some research on my own before I bought. Now just a day later boom all the info I need on putty. The plastic gods work in mysterious ways.

I started with the 70$ airbrush kit off Amazon, even that was a game changer. Good enough to get some stuff done, and the cost of three cans of primer.

When you are painting with army standard war paints, if you use air brush thinner instead of water.. they work just as good as the other stuff.

Faber-Castell putty is probably the standard putty in most of Europe. They mostly make pencils and other drawing materials/art supplies. I doubt they've made Tack-it since 1761.😂

I picked up some blue Fun Tack after Adepticon when I got a piece with my Game Envy handle. I'll keep my eye open for the FC if this doesn't meet my needs

Ninjon in RU-vid recommended Museum Wax instead of putty. Though it can leave residue, it is easier to remove they putty stuck on a mini.

Oh, I got FC one for few years, I notice when you use piece of it after some time it gets more soft and stiks better, I like to add a bit old putty into fresh piece when i need it. This also happen when I used it on actual poster, it gets soft by itself but only if you touched and squished it even once, what left in pack didn't change at all.

I got some of the AP sampler pack the day the video came out. From the three they sent, miles above the old war paints. I think they are about the same as Vallejo Game Color revamp paints. Maybe slightly thinner, but overall good, lil satin, and actually cover well. I could see them as my secondary or third paint, depending on price. I have yet to find anything that replaces Vallejo Model color.

I started painting this year with the "Army Painter Gamemaster Character Starter Paint Set". I continued with the vallejo game color starter set and citadel colors. I have to say, I still really like most of the Army Painter color. Maybe it's just because I'm used to them, but I feel like I have more control with them. Especially the vallejo game colors are a pain. For a lot of them the pigment separates from the medium after like 5 minutes on my palette.

Faber Castell is one of if not the best manufacturer of pencils, color pencils and many other highgrade art supplies. Regarding tacks I can recommend Bostik BluTack. Still sticky after 2 years of use and lots of priming and painting. It just eats the paint and is still going strong.😊

It's not at all ehat you'retalking about, but Tamiya putty is incredible. Straight up the only putty I've tried that's easy to work with and it's really happy to accept stuff like texture plates and rollers without breaking by sticking to them too much.

@@PaintBravelyThePodcast I have a recent video explaining it, not sure if YT will let me post links so I'll say it's the featured vid on my channel. It is for 3d printing yes. Ideally fdm. It has 2 axis of rotation so you can position a model any way you like without having to twist your hand or hold it uncomfortably. I designed 3 heads, one flat for tape/putty, one with a magnet recess, and a clamp version that holds various standard base sizes.

Which airbrush should I buy to get started with let's say a 100$ to 150$ budget? Any recommendations or warnings what to avoid?

I am happily using a 100 bucks Fenda compressor with tank and airbrush gun. Get some airbrush thinner, quick coupling, and good model paint and off you go. The rest is household stuff repurposed
