I don't know about talking to your little creature, but I would definitely want to give them a hug! They're freakin' adorable! I really love your moody landscape pictures. They're beautiful. I would love to see you apply that to your water paintings, I simply adore really stormy or atmospheric water pictures/paintings. There's so much drama and movement in paintings where the subject isn't perfect, like a blue sky, sunny day, or calm pool. Instead, it's a misty moor or turbulent ocean. I tend to see these as more realistic paintings, even though we do get calm pools and beautiful sunny skies, because for some reason painting "perfection" or an idealised scene makes things look more fake to me. Hope this comment finds you, your hubby, and beautiful babies well and happy and looking forward to the upcoming holiday season. Big hello to Mama Byler ( I hope her greenhouse project is coming along well) and the rest of your loved ones, too. 😊
Mira, you inspire me to paint and you inspire me to enjoy the process! I really enjoy “ hanging out” with you, too. Im always drawing while I watch you’re videos I want to share one of my paintings on instagram and tag you so I can share it with you! I’m in the early stage of my art journey, and I’m super excited! I’m a retired grandma so technology intimidates me, though.
The bunny monster and lion are definitely my faves this video for sure. 😊😊😊. The bunny gives me such Raging Rabids vibes btw. Would totally feel at home in those video games.
I moved from California to Oregon and the shift to rainy fall gets me so down. The other day I took a pic of the gray sky and realized there were some patches of blue showing through. It surprised me! I’m totally going to paint the picture to remind myself to shift my perspective, thank you so much for the inspo!!
After seeing a lot of your sketchbook ideas videos, I've come to realize the term sketchbook intimidates me. I think I need a doodle book!! 😉😂 I love the critters!! 🦁 The sunshine color behind really brightens the mood! 🌞 My favorite landscape to view from my car is often dark clouds with beams of sunshine coming through resting on things on the land. A little old country church or a dilapidated old barn or livestock on a field being highlighted by the sun always make me smile.
How about picking up a fresh sketchbook (make it small-ish - smaller than your usual sketchbooks) and doing a cover so it says, *'My do-my-own-thing doodle book.'* ? I've recently done something similar to this and I am really happy and surprised by what is happening in it! I've been making art and craft all my life, and painting / teaching it for 27 years. I was getting frustrated because I was not 'being me' with my work any more, and being unable to get out to do plein air as it has been mega-hot here all summer. This little sketchbook has been the happy result of deciding to do something about it!!! BTW, it's perfectly ok being small - just go across two pages if you feel like it, or do a couple of tiny scribbles on one page - whatever turns up when you begin to doodle. One of my favourites is two little dogs made up of ovals, wearing scarves, They have little speech bubbles: one says, "I wonder what she's giving us for dinner tonight?" & the other replies, "It's soo cold - I hope it's something hot!" It was done in a less-than a minute scribble, beginning with as two ovals then went on from there to become the two dogs! And stick people make fairly regular appearances, too. I hope this helps a bit? If so (or even if not) please will you comment to tell me? It encourages me to know, and we all need a little (or even a lot!) of encouragement each day! 😄
I just want to put a backpack on that cute little lion! He seems like a stuffed animal kiddos would take to overnight stays and have something special hidden in the backpack❤️
I love to watch your thought patterns as you paint. I like how your painting evolves, you start one direction and change so many times! Beautiful girlie
Mira, thank you!!! I love all of these little paintings, and can't decide which I like best - the animals or the moody landscapes. I truly appreciate you, your videos, and your style-hopping. In this video, it's encouraging folk to do 'less than perfect' and be themselves, and seeing the beauty in 'dull weather' landscapes. These are soooo beautiful, and I was so 'lucky' where I lived in the UK, as we had wide-open landscapes, and huge skies with every possible type of weather at some point or another to paint (plein air) throughout the year. I think I may play with the idea of adding a random colour to all the mixes in a painting, regardless of subject, and see what comes out of it! Thanks again for fresh ideas, encouragement and style-hopping! I do that, too. I have never tried to put me into an artistic / style box, as before watching ArtTube, I never thought of it (I've been painting and crafting all my life!)! My style is as variable as the UK weather, depending on the medium, on 'what happens when I do this ... or that...', or where I am, or how I'm feeling.. and many other wayward factors. Watching art videos recently, I've been deeply troubled by the emphasis on 'Find your style' videos, and the awesomely awful amount of 'sameness' occurring across ArtTube in general. Mira Byler is a very, very welcome breath of fresh air! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the lovely video as always ☺️ I like that you talk about how it is ok and even valuable to do the same thing over and over. Ive always limited myself because I feel like I have to create something I haven't before and I'm just recently realizing that its ok to repeat things because its a subject I really enjoy or something I want to improve on. Giving myself that permission has felt so good!
I absolutely love the style of this video and I want to thank you for doing this. I have had serious creative block but I found this inspiring and approachable. 💜
Mira please please do an ocean scene with fish and corals and plants. I've been begging and looking forward to it so much. It would make my day to see your take on it. Like your Starbucks cup but on a bigger scale with more detail. Please. Love your art
Hi Mira! This is the first time I have watched ur videos in a long time. I just want you to know that I have been watching you since I was 7 and I’m still watching your videos (I’m not gonna share my age btw). You always inspire me to get up and start paintings ❤❤❤
