This is exactly what I call it in my head, never knew it is the "official term" for it. Happened to me once earlier this year on a driving lesson. The lady I was giving way to didn't move for more than 5 seconds, I was the one that made the cycle start and my driving instructor still blamed me for not moving earlier. It is one of the lessons I can't forget even after passing my test.

We in Germany have a similar situation on unmarked crossroads. Normally the vehicle on the right hand side has priority over cars from their left, but when at least 3 vehicles come to a standstill, the best way is to give way to somebody who has to give way to me myself...

I might be in the minority here but this exact thing happened on my driving test. I decided to be the one to take the initiative and go first. I controlled the car well and got away with it without any minor fails for the situation.

I have encountered this when 3 cars arrived simultaneously,each stopping. They looked at each other for maybe 10 seconds and then of course all 3 moved off together. No harm done but hilarious to watch!

I made such a stupid mistake on my test, there’s a really tiny mini roundabout where you turn into the test centre. It’s basically just like a road with a turn off into the industrial estate where the test centre is with a teeny tiny mini roundabout painted on the road so 3 exits (if you can even call them that when it’s so small!) but it’s the tiniest mini roundabout I’ve ever seen. Anyway I was coming back to the test centre needing to turn in to the right and there was someone coming from straight ahead and my brain was telling me they were coming from my right so I was giving way to them 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think it’s because it’s SO tiny, plus test nerves!! I only got a minor for hesitation though despite not twigging for what felt like an eternity 😂

@@katherine4145 that is EXTREMELY common indeed for learners to do that!! I must make a video on that! You are not on your own! Happens ALL the time :-)
