You goofed! I saw that nekkid battery box while you were givin' Mini-Truck a bath! You missed one "blur". LOL I was waiting for the Gorilla Tape to come out of the tool box for blousing the back of the seat back covers to snug them up.
What about using 3m spray glue an gluing the covers to the seats so the stay tight an don't move, would look factory. Have to use the commercial grade shit though, an instead of bolting thru the back you could get some like 1x1 trim it up to fit to your liking paint it an use iron grip / liquid nail to glue it to the back an then screw in to that. Just food for thought.
@@MotoCheez I would use 3M trim spray glue on those and heat them with a heat gun and stretch them while the glue sets. Then for the back I like your idea of just using bungee cords to keep it tight. For you little bags in the middle, check out molle webbing. That is what those bags are designed to be attached to. You can get something like this for the whole back wall of your truck. www.amazon.com/RAPDOM-T97-OD-P-Rapdom-Tactical-M-O-L-L-E/dp/B01F42XKXW?th=1&psc=1
That would work! Going to have to split the back of the seat to get to the front now. Molly webbing, that's the word I was looking for. Have it on my tactical bags and my son's Jeep rear door
The facilities department at my college has a few of these mini trucks, including van versions. I’d love to buy one from state surplus if they ever sell any, after watching this series!
Just a quick note about carb versus brake cleaner. Carb cleaner can leave a residual film but brake cleaner will completely evaporate. Better choice for cleaning for adhesives. Alcohol works better most of the time too. If I really want it clean I use brake cleaner first then alcohol. Great videos by the way. Jealous that you have an army surplus that actually has some actual military surplus in it. The two we have are basically stock tacticool uselessness and cheap Chinese knockoffs
Yeah like I said to somebody else I have the denatured alcohol for when I do vinyl graphics but the can of carburetor cleaner was sitting right there. Brain fart!!!
@@MotoCheez thxs for the time to put mimitruck videos on,,love em,,wife wanted to know why I set an watch videos of fixing trucks an boats she knows I'm to lazy to fix anything,i told her she missed the point, its not a fixet show, its a love story,,thxs,,,give Mommy cat a can of tuna and a hello,,
yeah they don't have any seat covers for these things, and they look to be the same shape which I said and other videos so I gave it a shot. Haha yes mini truck life you need one!!
Mini Truck is the shit dude that lil sucker better than any truck I have seen amazing transformation dude! Congratulations I want 1!! Lol should make t shirts of mini truck dude
Thanks! I've had a dozen people asked for T's. I have a friend in NJ that owns a printing company. I should get input in the design. Was thinking a picture of mini truck in the middle and across the top in an arch what's up mini truck and then at the bottom underneath mini truck woah oh oh. And a little motocheez thing somewhere
I was making some custom seats/furniture and found that a cheap 1-1/2" sheet of this "green tea" memory foam I found basically stuck to any fabric with threads like it was nearly glued there, so bolt the right little topper chunk to the seat and any cover you want to swap into or try (or having destroyed some lol change em back in easy like) won't move as long as it's being sat on. Most poly pleather stuff has a mesh backing so I would imagine it would grip as well as plain cloth. I could barely get a flannel pillowcase off one after a materials test.
you could put foam padding behind the seat cover , to puff it out. cant get the smile off my face watching your videos . thank you. no i cant have a MINI TRUCK but tell him i love him.
Working on the basis the covers are NFU then I would fit 2 x Velcro strips into the hollow of the chair back to hold the seat cover ‘in’ and eliminate sag. Glue or stitched the OEM covers will still be there to use as a pattern for any future upgrade to a reupholstering project. (PS the space behind the seats is perfect for shotguns and ammo even the occasional sleepy cat.)
With the lack of in-cab storage, I've been thinking of getting a couple of large ammo cans and mounting them to the rack behind the cab, just below the bottom of the window, or at least low enough that I can see out the rear view window, but high above the pickup bed so I had the full length for plywood and other long objects. I'd add locks and use the waterproof steel storage boxes for tools, off road recovery equipment, tie down straps, air compressor, etc. If you like cable ties, try the Cobra flush head cable ties. Snip the tail and it disappears inside the low profile head so there isn't a big blocky cable tie head to catch on stuff, and there's no sharp snipped tail to slice open your hand as you're reaching into confined spaces.
I built a toolbox that's underneath the bed on the side with the compressor tank, with the bed coming up like that is not really a whole lot of roomless amount I'm really high. I use the electronic nippers and they cut regular zip ties flush I don't ever have a problem there
Great video again cheez. Looks like chopping those nuts off makes it official..... Mini Truck is a she. V seems like the cool and steady friend we all would like in our lives. Not too crazy, steady and keeps you moving. Doesn't he live on the New York side?

Use brake clean instead of carb cleaner it doesn't eat paint, so you can use it to get brake fluid off paint before the brake fluid eats through it. As always, love this series. -Jon
hey man awesome videos as always!....anyhow no luck yet finding the rims let me know if you found something and u gotta love the salt! I lived in South Dakota for five years just moved South a couple weeks ago lol....glad u found your seat covers
I put my mag pouches from work under the climate control unit on the dash in my 2012 silverado awesome for storage! Love the truck am looking forward to getting one myself one day👍
I actually found a good brand on Amazon I've been using for a while. Even the large ones like I used aren't that much, 150 was $30 120lb rated and they're not brittle like the cheepos
Great episode, keep them coming. A couple thoughts that may or may not be helpful some time, rivet nuts, pop rivets, taking the seats to an upholstery shop. usually they have CNC stitchers and could do your logo or #WUMT.
TY, I would have riveted but they used a round pipe frame and since I couldn't see because it has the old material on I knew it would be a pain..#WUMT on the seats would be awesome!!!🔥🔥👍
Your working with the seat covers is really awesome. As someone who hates seat covers, I can fully appreciate your attention to detail. Also, you could start a business with taking the mini-trucks and making them better. You remember the BASF commercials? "BASF, we don't make a lot of the products you use, we make a lot of the products you use better". "MotoCheez, we don't make the mini-truck, we make the mini-Truck F'ing awesome!"
2 hours ago I didn't know that I needed a mini truck. Now I have binged the entire build series. Great job so far. I've been thinking about the fender flares. What if the rear were removable so you could still fold the bed sides down?
I am loving your Mini Truck series! You're making me wanna sell a couple of toys and get a mini truck of my own. Unfortunately, I am in WV, where min trucks aren't street legal. :( If they were, I would have already bought one... and your vids would have been the primary reason! Please do not stop this video series until you sell the mini truck! Also, (cliche as this question may be, coming from a WV hill jack)... WHY'D YOU CASTRATE THE MINI TRUCK?!?!!?!? SIDE NOTE: Who out there is tiny enough to warrant the manufacturer installing an adjustment slider for the seat?!?!!
Thanks! Minitrucks are fun, but wouldn't make a daily driver. Good for work, play, backroads, no highway! Suprized WV don't allow... 😞. Even under classic import rules? That's how they work here.
@@MotoCheez Unfortunately, no... the DMV here recognizes them as "Implements of Husbandry" (farm use) and are unable to be registered with the state for road use. You can TECHNICALLY drive them between tracts of land up to (I think) 20 miles. The problem is that I live way out in the woods, so it would be a pretty hard sell to convince authorities that I was operating it properly according to state law. And while the State police in WV are generally pretty lax about folks driving ATVs and the like on roads without a center line, local city and county officers are often more strict. Just so happens, I live in an area where they are, well (to put it as politely as I can) COMPLETE ASSHOLES. Sorry to drone on, lol. Love your videos!
also when you look into the snorkel. make your ignition system into a Solid state rotor, so then you can seal it up and not have any moving parts submerged in water while driving. no one likes a low spark in an engine in water! :D
2 fingers in the slit.... MotoCheez; you just pulled a spit-take in NE Wisc. 😂 I hate seatcovers as well; like the drysuit material ones I put in my Wrangler. 😕 You always have to invent a way to mount them because the makers instructions are usually worthless.
👍👍 I didn't think of the grommets! I have some for boat canvass. I figured since the seat flips forward I can do easily in future. I like your idea,. TY
Im sure an upholstery shop could repad and cover your seats any way you’d want. Something so small that they can put on their bench...no question. Memory foam, heated vibrating....oh,yeah! Purses for the girls and tool bags for the boys.
@@MotoCheez I'm impressed by them so-far. They make a little road noise but nothing compared to the aggressive knobs. Did not even get them balanced. At 55 they handle great! Impressive off-road also.
Great video as always. The seat covers look good but I think the foam is old. I'm sure you can find some foam to replace it. Maybe at the same time you could do a seat warmer install, you know - for the utility.
The foam wasn't that bad believe it or not compared to the passenger seat. They're really not uncomfortable to drive on. Thicker foam would have been nice for sure, next time I do them maybe. Heated seats a good idea!
I'm working on a design right now with the printing company. so what do you think mini truck in the middle with what's up mini truck arched over the top and then whoa oh oh underneath?
Your laced idea for tightening the back .. that might actually work. Were you thinking of making two sets of holes and doing the shoelace tightening until snug?
Thanks. Ya, the seat covers would even work if I didn't tie them to the frame. I was shocked they fit so we'll! There's litterally nothing out there for these seats except from China for $$$
As much as you're totally into your local community, I'm stunned that you don't have a local person who could redo those seats for you. Then you'd be able to have it done any way you like
👍👍🔥😄 Depends on what you use it for, if it's just zipping around town doing some light off-roading and using the bed for hauling stuff cutting wood excetera. This would work better!! They are small though
I feel stupid by commenting on a video that’s old well only 2 years ago this video was posted. Real question is that where do yo get those plastic velcro attachments at 14:16 time frame
@@MotoCheez if your just looking for the bigger size ammo box, wallmart and harbor freight sell some pretty good ones new for cheap, everything looks the same too good spot welds water tight seal and all the same handles!
I saw small ammo boxes at HF and Wally world, the 20mm is pretty big. I'm going to have to cut down to fit under bed bolted to the frame so door swings out. Thank you. I enjoy making them.
I have an ammo can in my garage at home. It's not 20 mm but had SUS charges in it. I don't have the dimensions on me now, but roughly over a foot tall about 18 to 20 inches long and 10 inches front to back.
I’m in Texas if you want it. I’ll contribute to mini truck in minicats memory. I don’t ship much so I don’t know really how that works. It’s yours if you want to cover shipping.
