The quantity of songs added over shadowed the romanticism of the original elephant love medley. The singers are great. But it was just to much

Sean Vital well I don’t know if I completely agree with you, but your opinion is valid. If you look closely, it’s actually a miniature model of the broadway version, so before you criticize the show’s score on my video, you should take a moment to appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship of my model. Again, I had nothing to do with the writing of the score, but the video is more to highlight the incredible work of the production design of the show.

This video is more than just the production design. It's taken from one angle and it shows one song.

The problem is that the original Elephant Love Medley is more like Christian forcing a love into Satine and she kinda ends up giving in to him... The broadway version is not only smarter by having Satine using actual love songs or parts of songs to answer Christian advances, it also makes a better job showing their love as a whole natural thing and showing Satine actually wanting to be with Christian -- as you can hear when SHE starts singing Heroes after hearing the Duke talking to Ziddler.

@@seanvital5223 - I agree, I prefer the original Elephant Love Medley too. Some things are best left unchanged. I also don't think the creator of this video should've called you out for your comment either. All you did was make an innocuous remark about the revised song and for whatever reason dude took it personally and then pandered for praise. The only reason I clicked on this video was to hear the Broadway version of this song (which I hadn't heard til now) and I'm sure a lot of other people have clicked on this video for the exact same reason.

Disagree…I think it’s superior to the film (and definitely with better singers)

The singers are questionably better but god it sucks soooo much worse than the movie!! I love musicals but how could they take Moulin Rouge and sing it in such a Broadway-musical style way, the whole show they literally just took a bunch of pop and rock songs and changed it to show tune covers. Where is the rawness and especially the emotion from the movie ugh ugh just NO!!! I had high hopes for this because I love the movie and musicals but this does not work for me

@@MrsPhim I also absolutely prefer the movie but, to be fair, the stage version isn't trying to be 'emotional' or 'raw'. It's trying to be campy and spectacular & I think it accomplishes that very well. And as much as I love Ewan/Nicole the singers here are definitely better.
