Saw this film at the drive in as a teenager, found it a turgid bore until the miniatures showed up which totally redeemed the movie for me.

@@SB111058 Wild guess? Mr. Pocci is admiring the use of models shot outside, against real sky, as opposed to studio bound shots that look "lit.".

Does anyone know who made these miniature effects? They are a bit better than the last of the Gerry Anderson / Les Bowie / Derek Meddings fx made in Britain, but have the multiple locked-off camera look of that style (also see in James Bond films like 'You Only Live Twice').
