Thanks for this video Chris and thanks also to your dear wife…a great supporter and loco driver for you! ! Although you don’t provide details of where the Society meets…I see from their website it’s in Cowes, close to the Northwood Park. I hope to visit them sometime…I didn’t realise they also had a model boating pond too! Finally, I’m hoping that eventually you will publish all your videos as a DVD complete collection for your viewers to purchase. If you do, please put me on the list to buy a set! Incidentally, I had a dear late friend…Ivor Richardson…who was an excellent Engineer who worked in the Hovercraft Factory in East Cowes and live near the Society’s site. He called himself a ’Corkhead’ because of the famous and magnificent Cork Oaks in West Cowes….did you see any of these beautiful trees during your visit? Best wishes, Rob in Bournemouth.

Hi Rob. Many thanks for your kind words..I don't think my videos will ever come out on DVDs,but a nice thought..The Model Engineering Society is well worth a visit. Sadly as we only had a short visit to Cowes we never got to see the trees.Next time. The Isle of Wight is a very nice Island, we missed a lot on our visit but hope to visit again..Best wishes Chris

@atlanticcoastexpress I was born on the Isle of Wight so Someone born on the Isle of Wight is known as a “Caulkhead”. This comes from when the islanders working In Southampton and Portsmouth use to caulk boats and ships. Unfortunately “corkhead” is not the right term and certainly nothing to do with trees. Sorry
