We visited the Wirral Model Engineering Societies track at Royden park on a very busy afternoon,we were a little late arriving due to the other railways we had been too.But we made it.What a club I have never seen so many members helping to run the two railways, well done! so nice to see.
They have a ground level 7 1/4 plus the raised 5" gauge tracks.Hold on well when riding the 5" track it is a white knuckle ride, why do these guys fly around as though they are out to break the lap record,it would be a lot more enjoyable if we could see the scenery.

Great memories! As a kid - 50 years ago, we would visit Roydon Park, and I remember the railroad back then! Glad I stumbled across this video. Frankly is a beautiful area - my parents and grandparents are buried at the Frankby cemetery just down the road. I’m now in USA, so thank you for posting this :)

A tip if visiting Henry, get to the railway early or expect a very long queue for the trains. We waited ages. But at least we had some time to film the off track shots...The raised track is a white knuckle ride they fly around. Hold tight.

@@wooltman Thanks for the heads up! Some of the raised track lines I've been to have been quite fast like this one!

I'm glad everybody agree's with me,just to fast for comfort..Some young girls were told about the speed of the trains and they walked off. Best wishes Chris.

Just watched this Chris, what a fantastic miniature railway and club this is, the 7 1/4" line is excellent and they have some great engines. Wish I'd known about this railway before when I lived in North Wales.... The 5" line looks really well engineered, don't know why they have to tear around, must increase maintenance and wheel wear, but perhaps they like the thrill of speed. Some nice locomotives on this line too. Another fine video, it's starting to make me think about an UK wide trip myself.

Many thanks! Where do you live now are you abroad? I think it must have been going home time for the 5" drivers and they were trying to give everybody a ride.

It really is Bob,although we didn't get a lot of time to stay at each, the traveling is a killer, over 100 miles a day plus the trip up and back on a Bank holiday as well. But we enjoy it and meet some nice people..........Best wishes Chris

Certainly an interesting lay out on this line Chris! Excellent camera work as usual too. I think you deserve a break (a railway holiday without your camera perhaps?) after your hard summer's work. Many thanks again, Rob.

The ground level is very good so well run, also the terminus station ran like clockwork, they even had a lady serving tea/coffee's to the drivers and helpers.Three hours of none stop running.Amazing! ....These trips are short holidays really Rob,we have been to many parts of the country this year with our loco's/Fuchsias and visiting these miniature railways...Got to keep active at my time of life........Best wishes Chris.

I've never understood why some people like to thrash their models around at such speeds, can understand wanting to let a pacific stretch her legs occasionally, but a tank engine? Ridiculous. On a happier note, as a child I stood on the footplate of the full-size Coolum, nice to see a miniature of her getting around.

I totally agree,we have been to many raised track railways (I don't like them really) and they always want to race around, give me ground level any day.....Thanks for commenting, enjoy watching all my videos.........Best wishes Chris

Great video and track , until the white knuckle i was impressed by the drivers, Totally unnecessary to drive at that speed and with passengers he should know better , we have some in Gauge 1 like that they dont know what a regulator is LOL ! Regards Graham

They think it is great blasting around then sitting in a line of loco's ready to do it over again,crazy!........Regards Chris

It seems that all raised tracks go far too fast. Ours is the same.

It was getting to the end of the day and I think they wanted to pack up,but it was fast,to fast for a raised track........Regards Chris
