My Miniature Schnauzer is Very quiet 🤣 However , she will Bark & Growl to Warn me if she senses anything Bad , She’s really intelligent, Playful, Obedient & also gets her feelings hurt easily 😂 All around she’s an Awesome Dog 👏🏽♥️
Four mini schnauzers have owned me over my lifetime- Molly, Gretchen, Max, and Mia. Loved them all. They all had different, but great personalities ranging from diva to nanny to gentleman butler to genius princess. Best dog breed ever; like having another person in the house! You will fall in love with schnauzers!
Gabrielius Zenevicius I had 8 dogs in total since I was a kid with different kinds of breeds, pure and mix. I said that to all of them, if you are a real dog lover you will understand that. People always said,” they have the best dog” and they're all correct. Same thing here. :)))
I own a German shepherd and a golden retriever I'm looking for a 3rd dog well get when I move to my new house in in a flat currently I'm looking at rottweiler but I'm loving seeing giant regular and mini shanuzers
Mine decided to have a bark off with a pitbull which came to attack me. The pitbull got scared and ran away. Since then I call mine "The warrior Ninja"
Just got a new baby miniature schnauzer yesterday! He is 8-week old chocolate, and he is feisty as hell! We have 2 schnauzers in the house now,I love it.
Extremely loyal and trustworthy. One of the best dogs we have ever had. We have a Male and lost a great girl after 12 years. They really are great travelers and great watchdogs. Love these guys. Linda and Bruce Wickstrom and big Jack
I've had three. if it were possible i would have another! they were great companions. when people ask me when i'm going to move , i tell them i have three dogs buried in the backyard and a spot for me! I highly recommend these dogs for pets but beware, they soon become family!!
My Skipper, all white, just passed a few weeks ago. He was fairly vocal. Loved watching tv. He would bark and growl at every animal on tv, especially dogs, so my tv babysat him when I was away from home, lol. I remember reading something on white schnauzers when I got him that basically referred to them as “devils,” lol. So to speak. He wasn’t mischievous in any way. He was my bud. Loved everyone, especially my parents. RIP bubba! Miss and love you always!
Schnauzer's are love, intelligence and loyalty are wrapped up in one. I have the privilege of having one. His name is Charlie. He smothers me with kisses and loves to play ball and go for walks. He has a collection of stuffed animals that he roughs up and tosses. Every moment spent with him is a blessing and I am thankful to have him. ♥️🐾
❤❤❤ Mini schnauzers . I always owned big dogs and thought all small dogs were too noisy and barked a lot. Until I met Hugo. He is amazing, intelligent loyal soo loving and when you are upset he will sit by your side.
We have a miniature schnauzer full of energy and personality! He knows what he wants and he makes sure we fulfil his desires. He can be stubborn at times but with redirection, love and praise he is capable of following on :) He is adorable and very lovable. He enjoys sleeping with us and/or cuddling "ALL THE TIME"
I love my mini schnauzers! I’ve had six over the past 35 years-Bismarc, Strudel, Max, Trixie, Gracie, and Georgie-the last two are my new ones, all white. They are loving, intelligent, and fun. They are such good companions and fiercely loyal. Wouldn’t want to live without them. They’ve been wonderful in this time of isolation, keeping me company and energized!
I've had three Miniature Schnauzers and they are the best most loving dogs you can ever have. My last one was killed by vet malpractice, and to this day I still morn him. He was the the best friend you could ever have.
I've had 2 mini Schnauzers, one in the 80's-90's with my wife & kids and another now as a single senior. They are wonderful dogs and the best of companions. One thing to consider for single people thinking of getting one of these dogs is they do not like being alone. If you plan to have a night life or do things with friends and leave the dog home this dog is not for you. These dogs need to be with their people. If you treat your miniature Schnauzer with love and kindness and take him with you wherever you go, you will be rewarded with a wonderful loving companion.
I have a 6 month old mini schnauzer, only barks when he wants attention from other dogs. quietest dog I've ever owned! such a great personality, I can take him everywhere. make sure you socialize them when they're young, I socialized mine at 9 weeks.
This is a smart, loving, loyal and beautiful dog, but make no mistake: some can have serious attitudes and will not hesitate to challenge a bigger dog (--even if socialized early). Super scrappy, courageous, and bred to kill vermin.
Woow, my Dog is a Miniature schnauzer mixed chihuahua or Yorkshire terrier, so ya i got him from a lady, she says hes a miniature schnauzer mixed chihuahua, but i believe hes a Miniature schnauzer mixed Yorkshire terrier or, just Yorkie, like he looks like hes mixed with Yorkie or Yorkshire terrier but the why hes like , no hes not mad or Sassy like some chihuahuas hes 16 years old hes funny and kinda cute, so ya hes tail its a little like a chihuahua tail but hes mouth its looks a little bit small like a Yorkie/ Yorkshire terrier, im not sure what I think, and hes color is chocolate light Brown like milk chocolate, he has a White spot on his head, what do you guys think? Is he mixed with Yorkie/Yorkshire terrier or just Chihuahua mixed,
We have a 7 month old mini, he is loving, sweet, smart and easy to train but if I have to sum it up in one word, he is demanding, but he loves being with his people! Excellent bread!
My family has a pure white miniature schnauzer that somebody once described as a “ghost schnauzer” while on a walk. So I refer to her as that sometimes. She is a loving pet and companion.

He would bark and growl at every animal on tv, especially dogs, so my tv babysat him when I was away from home, lol. How did you get that cost?! I spent $2.5k on my dog this year 😂 that’s haircuts, basic vet visits, food, toys, clothes, etc. Ima make Krampus adjust his budget 😂
we found ours straying in the trash one night on our way back home. we adopted him and named him Max. Thanks for sharing this valuable and accurate information. we love our mini schnauzer and 2 health conditions that we notice on him, prone to earwax and infection and bad breath 😂
I have 2 miniature schnauzer that is 12 years old and I love them so much, and they never want to play with toys. I tried when they were puppies, they just look at the toy and then look at me. Is it normal for miniature schnauzer to be like that ?
My nine year old schnauzer loves to be chased. As soon as he awakens he grabs one of his toys, looks at us and takes off. He likes to play with tennis balls, but doesn’t like to share (very stingy) very barky, loyal, smart, funny and a great cuddler.
I agree the Best Dog Breed ever. My Ist One died and My wife was very devastated. He was replaced by another Mini Schanauzer and followed by an adopted Tory Schnauzer. They bring Us Joy every single day
I have had 3. All lived to nearly 13. Let one passed a year ago. Time flies. I'm just waiting on the right one to come along. I love them so much and look forward to my next one. I still have my big dog left but she is 12 now and has liver failure but so far doing well in medicine for this. But I sure can tell uncle Arthur has settled in.
I've had 3 the one that I have now is an attention hog, she's so stubborn but adorable She makes sure she gets her way and plenty of attention from anybody Who walks in the door.
I just Lost my little female Candy, but still have her playmate Domineaux. I miss her so much. Hope to find another like her someday. She was almost 16. RIP Candy girly.
I am getting addict to schnauzer... with 1 male, 2 female and surprise... 6 puppies ( 4 will get away properly adopted and 2 will remain at home.).. for a total of 5 adorable mini`s... together with 1 white husky and 1 dachshund. Yes, they stole my heart! My noisy alarm system against anything... (>;
@@jorgemathieu4527 that's too bad, for me I mean. I'm sure you've very lucky to live in a beautiful place like that. I wish the best for you and your babies
Omg. Same here. My mom will come over and she’ll bark off a storm. An hour later, and she hasn’t gotten over the fact that she walked through the door. She has to see you very often in order for her to stop barking. I’ve been bringing her to work since I got her. 9 months later, and now she’s getting used to most people here
Only enemy on my schnauzer radar was the mailman or any delivery person, but after one pet or lick he ll be your buddy 😏 best friend a man can ask for 😁
My favorite breed along with German Shepherd. I have had 2 poodles, 2 dachshunds, 2 mini schnauzers, 3 german shepherds. My grandparents had boxers. I loved every one of these dogs.
I have a Schnauzer and a Husky. I love them both. In the past I have had a Shepherd and 4 mini Terriers. A house is not a home for me unless a dog is in it. I love them all.♥️🐾🌹💋
I’ve 2 year old miniature schnauzer (pure bred) and she’s quietest dog you’ll ever meet. She very rarely barks and is so well behaved. She actually thinks she’s human and is such a diva. She has very sweet nature and likes everything done at a certain time, her walk in the morning bout 10, 1 in evening bout 6, nap in afternoon bout half 2/3 and bed by 8. That’s only time she’ll bark to let you know you’re running late or forgot something. She doesn’t bark at strangers, postman or other dogs and loves kids. If she sees a kid in the street she will have to go introduce herself to them. Wouldn’t be without her
I just got a mini Schnauzer named Pepper, she is a salt and pepper lol! She is crazyyyyyy!!!! The Mini Schnauzer is such a great pet and I def recommend for anyone who wants a playful puppy! They are fast learners too! She learned the sit command in just 3 days!!
I love my miniature schnauzer but..she is sassy and she gets attitudes QUICK it’s funny sometimes but it’s not cute. She is very playful! Very rough at playing 😂!!!!!! But I’m use to it....she is 6months..sometimes I forget she’s a girl...she’s a fast learner except for with potty training.
My schnauzer drives me nuts sometimes…😤😵💫🙄 (still adjusting to parent life ) but I still believe getting him was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. 😏
I am considering adopting a 6month schnauzer but I'm concerned with my home schedule because the house is usually empty by 8 and the earliest someone would be arriving back would be about 4pm. Weekends will be fully available. Is there anyone currently in a similar situation that could shed some insight on how this may affect them, if at all, and also to just please give any type of advice. If i do follow through with the adoption, i would be a first time dog owner 😬 im a little skeptical as ive never ever had a dog but i have a teenager and a 5 year old and would love for them to grow up with a furry companion😊 Thanks in advance to whoever replies! 🫶
i have a maltese who is 12 and slowly degrading sadly due to cancer. my family’s plan is to get a new puppy after he goes this is literally the breed i want nl
My family had a male, that would demand belly rubs, by jumping on my lap, turn himself around, and fall black against my arm. This same dog taught himself to perch himself on the back rest of the car,(a bench seat), like a parrot, so he could bark at everything he could see. We had a few miniature schnauzers, in our time.
I am In office for 1/2 of the year then I move to cooler areas and camp with car and tent the other 6 months of the year. My camry is already built out . Is It true that food and care is only $500/ year? Who would be best to talk to about mini schnauzer in my lifestyle?
I’d always had larger dogs, but got a mini schnauzer about 20 years ago due to housing rental restrictions. She (Sara) was a bundle of personality and quiet as a mouse. Whenever she wanted something or when I came home, she didn’t bark, but made a happy sound, as if she were talking. I lost her when she was 14 and swore I’d never get another dog. After a couple of years, I found a house was not a home without a dog, so I got another one. This schnauzer, Boomer (named for obvious reasons), is the polar opposite of Sara in the barking department. Regardless, he is such an intelligent playful bundle of joy, and he makes the home whole again.
Mines not yappy at all. Only time she barks is if anyone comes to our door, she does notice instantly if someone comes on to our property but wont bark until she knows its definitely someone there.
I have educated several dogs. All were great, But Morgan takes the cake, he learns so fast it scares me, he uses what he knows. You answered a question I could not find the answer for.
My friends mini schnauzer would never let me touch it after months, the dog decided my lap was a good place to sit, still he would not let me touch him. Hands down one of the weirdest dogs I have ever met, was always happy to see me, and sit on my lap so long as I never touched him. That dog is the sole reason I will have my own mini schnauzer in two more months.
"they are hardwired to chase and kill gerbils and other small mammals" i just happen to have gerbils. i really wanted this breed but now i'm having second thoughts
I have a schnauzer and she is the best thing that has ever been in my life she brings me so much joy P.S if you are looking for a dog than you should get a schnauzer
Just got my little guy and I’m in love , he no longer cries to much of when I leave but he such hyperactive and a nibbler during the morning/early afternoon, once he gets his shots to the trainer he goes to get potty trained 😌
They are fiercely loyal to Family, and love to snuggle, and spend time with their owners. Its important to socialize them when they are young, as they can become quite Yappy, or mildly territorial (yet not aggressive) on walks. A good sized yard, or a brisk 20min walk, and fetch are highly suggested to tucker these little mountain goats out! Its good to get them mobile to calm their little nerves, but expect ALL the cuddles afterword!
Our 18 lb Mini's best friend and mentor as a pup was a large gentle German Shepard. One day the Shepard was carrying a big stick. When he set it down our Mini picked it up (stole) and headed home. Fortunately the Shepard didn't object. Every day after that our Mini would find a 'big dog' stick and bring it home. I'm talking about 4' long 2" thick sticks for a distance up to 1.5 miles! Once she had cleaned out all the loose sticks along our many walking routes, she would sit down and not budge beside a candidate branch that was too big for her to wrangle out of the bush, waiting for me to fetch it out for her and break it down to manageable size (4' x 2"). She did this for 9 years. Fortunately we back on to a ravine and were able to create a 5' high stick fence that completely enclosed the back yard. Visualize a very large beaver dam, and you'll have an idea of how big it was. I'm sure most beavers would be jealous! She was a big celebrity in our neighbourhood, and was invited many times to be included in complete stranger's wedding pictures being taken in the local park when we happened by while she was carrying one of her sticks.
My mini schnauzer thinks he owns me. I cannot show attention to any other dog with him around or things get heated. Smart dogs but mine loves looking for trouble to get into around the house....things he knows I don't want him to do, as soon as I turn my back...he does it. Then looks at me with puppy eyes! Lol
