The diorama is very complex, but at the same time so amazingly beautiful. The huge wave will be made of epoxy and will look significantly cool.

The homemade wave mold is absolutely bonkers. I hope you were able to get all off in one piece without any tears (it sure looked like you did)! I can imagine it’ll make future crazy wave dioramas a heck of alot easier!
@mandi8345
@mandi8345 Год назад
Fabrication Pro Tip: They could have made a reusable mold by making it 2 part. But its a bit of a long process. First youd use WED clay and basically a cheese cutting string (we use guitar strings, the tool looks like a garrote wire used to choke people) to make uniformly thick slabs and cover the whole thing with them. This makes a gap they youll fill with silicon later. After its covered in the clay, cover it in fiberglass. Make some ribs with thin strips of clay to lock the soft inner 'face tool' into the fiberglass later too. Once the fiberglass is cured, peel out the part and the clay (DO NOT DAMAGE THE PART YET!!!) and clean up all the clay and surfaces, silicon hates other stuff as it cures. Then put the hard outer jacket over the part (BTW this is a million times easier if you make a fully enclosed mold. you basically do all these steps twice front and back) and pour your silicon into the gap where the clay was, and wait for it to kick. Another Pro-Tip: forget the paraffin and hexane silicon release, Dawn dish soap works better and is WAY cheaper, just watch out for brush strokes leaving surface textures. Then once its kicked remove the hard jacket, then peel off the soft jacket! TADA! Now you have a mold of something that might contain under cuts which would lock up a hard mold like fiberglass and bondo, but peels right out of the soft silicon jacket! Just dont damage the silicon in the fine detail places. Youll never be be abel to repair it.....

Ah, it's this time of year again where RU-vid recommends me these types of videos of talented people being successful at something because it knows at times I'm some lazy ass that just sits at ease, soaking in hours onto RU-vid because there isn't any other thing to do. Thanks again, RU-vid.
@Voiidpriince
@Voiidpriince 3 года назад
These self destructive comments really don’t help anyone, it can really bring down the artist and just make yourself feel worse. There’s tonnes of online classes and free tutorials on RU-vid to teach you anything you want to learn, it’s just a matter of accepting you won’t be good at it at first and to keep trying to get to where you want to be. No artist is ever fully satisfied with their work, no matter how much we tell them we love it. Stop being hard on yourself
@rilsy6170
@rilsy6170 3 года назад
@@Voiidpriince Properly, I wasn't trying to be negative, but I understand where you're getting at. Anyone can ascertain most things if they wanted to, it's all about promptly putting the time and concerted effort into it. We all designate what we want to covet as a part of our social lives and we also choose when to be lazy. But yeah, I get what you're remarking so my bad for naturally making it look like I was intentionally trying to be negative.
