I also show you guys our wash and dry set-up as well as my cloth diaper storage (including cloth wipes and DIY spray).

You may start getting compression leaks due to the microfiber, you could buy hemp boosters to make them not leak or switch all the absorbency to flats, i love nickis muslin flats❤ i believe noras nursery diapers have a hidden layer of microfiber, and the charcoal bamboo diapers are fleece topped with microfiber inner😊

I was glad to see how you used the charcoal bamboo liners. I was gifted like 12 of those and they just don't fit right when trying to stuff them in the pocket diapers so I have just been avoiding using them but now I'll need to try it this way! I love AlvaBaby! I had a bunch of Bumgenius and they used to be my favorite but the elastics wear out SOO fast!

Babies thin out as they get older so the snap placement might not be an issue. My chunky 8 month old is on the second from the last snap and my son was that way to but they fit him until he was potty trained at almost 3.

I have cloth diapered all seven of my children (5 years old and under) and they all “run out of snaps” when they get to their “chunkiest stage” at 3/4 months right before they start crawling and then they start getting longer (with very chunky tights) and slim down waist-wise.

I cloth diaper even when we are out and about and it hasn't been a hassle at all for me. Definitely worth giving it a try. I have been using Nora's Nursery for a year now and I noticed the elastic is stretched out where I insert the liners but so far that's it. I will have two in diapers soon so I will definitely buy more from them but I will try those Alva inserts!

Our favorite brand are Blueberry but with this being your last baby it doesn’t make sense to spend the money. I’ve used them on 4 kids so $30/diaper seems ok for us!.
@ariannapflederer
@ariannapflederer 5 лет назад
Yes for sure! I spent way more on cloth when I first started out with Rev. There were several diapers i spent $25-$30 each on. And with the plan to have multiple kids it made sense. She hated them though due to sensory issues (go figure, i thought she would prefer those to disposables but she hated feeling wet so that was probably why). I sold them back then though, cause I was overwhelmed anyways with my PTSD and just decided we wouldn’t ever do cloth. Now I wish I had kept them!!

With you getting into sustainable clothing I’m curious what led you to “China cheepie” diapers. I’m looking forward to cding my first child in September so am loving watching reviews and am always curious how people make a decision on brands!
@ariannapflederer
@ariannapflederer 5 лет назад
I made a commitment to start with our clothing. I can’t afford diapers that are $20-$30 each. Disposable diapers are also another thing that is questionable manufacturing. So I do a one time purchase with cloth or continue to buy disposables 🤷🏼‍♀️ I really wish I could afford to purchase ethically in all areas of our life, but that’s just not reality. So I do it where I can and hope that the industries as a whole change as I put my money where I can afford it! Then over time we will be able to shop for more and more things ethically. Right now we are focusing on the sourcing of our clothes and food! But Nora’s Nursery does make them ethically in China. They have a section about it on their site :) I do believe it’s important to support the ethical factories in countries that typically have unethical labor practice issues!
@ariannapflederer
@ariannapflederer 5 лет назад
I have to apologize because I didn’t take the time to research a ton on the manufacturing side since I knew it wasn’t an area I committed to! Just happened to come across Nora’s Nursery’s info! All the companies I knew that were for certain ethically made, were mostly small shops or brands that do charge $20-$30 a diaper. Upon further research though, mama koala is similar pricing and their site also states that they ensure ethical manufacturing with living wages, safe working environments, exc. China doesn’t automatically mean unethical! So if I do purchase more, I’ll be sure to go with mama koala or Nora’s nursery 🙂

I cloth diaper my nearly 2 year old and I noticed you may have the same washer I'm having delivered today. I was wondering what You're wash routine is and what detergent you use and how much? I use Gain original liquid and calgon due to very hard water 300

My daughter has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Type 2. She was no problem potty training. But I noticed and still notice that she can go hours without using the bathroom even after waking in the morning. We found out when she was 18 or 19 that she had an enlarged bladder. But, my granddaughter is possibly EDS too. She cries because she's uncomfortable sitting in a poopy diaper. She's not yet one so we shall see.
@ariannapflederer
@ariannapflederer 4 года назад
Every case is different for sure! But my oldest daughter and I have hEDS (formally known as type 3). Her ligaments are extremely lax and she can’t hold pee or poop for long. I am the opposite and have extreme bladder control, almost to my detriment. That is because my muscles have over compensated though!

@ariannapflederer
@ariannapflederer 5 лет назад
The quality and concentration of your essential oils also matter HUGELY. I do a lot of research on EO’s. You can find studies to back both sides. I use essential oils on my children regularly and I didn’t use any on Ren until she was over 3 months old. I have been using them since Rev was a baby :) There are 2 drops of tea tree and 6 drops of lavender in that entire bottle! They are highly concentrated so you only need a very time amount. There are essential oils in nearly every baby product on the market as well! I’m so sorry that you are going through a negative experience with EO’s. But they are safe when used properly and when the company is reputable!
@stephanieryans9955
@stephanieryans9955 5 лет назад
I only used the shampoo. I’ve never used the oils other than that. I just would hate for another child to go through it. I used it on all 3 of my girls and only one had the issues. So I know it’s a small chance. I’ve encountered some doctors that believe it and some that say there isn’t enough evidence for it. I rather put it out there and let people make their own decision on it and a lot of people have no clue.
@ariannapflederer
@ariannapflederer 5 лет назад
That sounds more like an allergic reaction possibly depending on what it is :) there are life saving medications that people are randomly allergic too. And foods! But it doesn’t make them bad as a whole 🙂 again, I’m very sorry to hear one of your kids had a reaction!
