@@ArrowHillCottage this summer I have been repainting the entirety of my interior home. I also removed wallpaper. I’m doing some updates in the kitchen. I painted the tile backsplash white and it’s never looked better. I’ve done minor repairs and continue to do so. BTW I’m tired
Yes! We had no idea that the rust could be removed as easily as it was…it’s possible that having it sprayed with a thin layer of paint on it for the last 4 years maybe loosened things up somewhat? Either way we are thrilled to not be repainting it! ❤️
I am glad you left room for upper cabinets. I am seventy-five and I love my upper cabinets because I find it easy to access commonly used items. I have difficulty stooping down to access lower cabinets. This was a non issue when I was younger but I am so thankful for our upper cabinets now.
🏢 I live in a high rise condo, so this is my house emoji! I am still downsizing from a 3 bedroom 2 bath home to a one bedroom one bath condo, so my main project is to organize and continue to declutter. I just added peel and stick backsplash to the kitchen and love it. The whole kitchen was gray with a black granite countertop. Too depressing for me! Luckily it had white cabinets, so I added blue and white delft looking tiles for the backsplash and will paint the kitchen white. I am 82 years old, so it takes me awhile to complete projects, but I get her done!
I love your kitchen. My home (1948) has undergone many fixes/upgrades/do-overs through the years. Kitchen is last on my list because I know it will be a hum-dinger as far as cost and inconvenience. I glean ideas anywhere I can so I watch your execution with interest. Thank you for opening your home to us, and allowing us to join you on your journey. 🙏
Yes! Kitchens are the most inconvenient to do work in for sure!!! But yet they are probably the spaces that need updates the most often because they are used all the time! ❤️
🏚 I'm using a "derelict house" because MY home has been mid-renovation for 8 years. My husband enjoys updating this 1964 house until he finds the shortcuts previous homeowners took during THEIR renovations and has to correct/fix the issues (like sink pipes set in concrete, water lines run across the house and back to the kitchen, power lines run through the floor and ceiling in the corner of a room, just to name a few). Anyhoo... I love your kitchen updates! 🤩 My husband wanted to add a shelf to my kitchen window but I told him not to because I'm "flat surface piler" and I didn't want the temptation. 😂 I enjoy seeing women do "men's" work because it reminds me that I can do things, too (if I get off my bum) 💪 Thank you for sharing your peaceful home ✌
Oh boy! Scary to discover short cuts like that! In a previous home we lived in we uncovered a structural issue that we were shocked didn’t make the front half of the house collapse! Fixed that up as quickly as possible! Thanks for watching! ❤️
🏡 I am busy to declutter the attic. And I need to paint inside and outside our home. But I doubt if that project will succeed this year while it rains almost everyday here in The Netherlands since June 2023😮 We are used to rain, but this isn’t normal. I love what you did for your kitchen and what I love most is the view❤ It’s wonderful to live in such beautiful environment❤
It's wonderful that you were able to restore the kitchen sink... that really is the focal point of the whole room. It's great that you were able to add a loving touch of softness from both of your grandmothers as well.
I enjoyed this video. House emoji :) The different textures and additions you made to the kitchen are beautiful. I really like the subway tile. It makes the kitchen homey. But, I did like the kitchen before the changes as well. Keep up the good work, thank you for your RU-vid channel.
I enjoy these types of videos. Thanks for sharing with us. It looks great. I also have subway tile and all white kitchen. To me it's bright and uncomplicated. I look forward to seeing some artwork that you may add to those ledges, which was a great idea, btw.
🏡 It came out awesome looking. Lol. Why do we do that? It’s good to know I’m not the only one. 😅😅 But I guess if I really thought about it, it’s always about current bandwidth seems like. This house really has a plethora of things that could be improved. I can’t say I have any big, major projects on the horizon but I always am doing a bunch of little “enhancements” all over the place.
🏡❤ I really appreciate the hard work and labor of love that went into this, as I’ve been there myself! 😅 It looks lovely with the vintage sentimental pieces and the new.
I painted our house! Kendal Charcoal is the body color and the East, South, west sides showed some fading. So I painted them with a brush and bucket. It was so easy! Then I went around and touched up our bright white trim. The whole process took 4 afternoon/evening. And it looks amazing! Danya
🕍 My daughter and I have been repainting the kitchen l, dining room and den. We have been touching up the rest of the house too. It's so nice to look at a freshened up space 😀
🏡 love the updates! My double drainboard wall mount farm sink is dated 1920. I love it. What or whwre dis you get the wood box with the drawer that you set your computer on? Thanks
Well done! It must be so satisfying to see the results of your hard work. 🏡 (My eyesight is shot so I hope this is a house emoji .......... but it could be anything!)
Thank you! I really like having a mix here. And since it’s my channel…I get to choose! Just need to realize that the YT algorithm might not like it. Oh well! ❤️
