It never stops. It’s a forever process. I am getting cozy with this concept. Started photographing clothes I wanna offload today. Anything not out of here by end of month is going to WEAVE. If you didn’t already donate the silverware: consign it. Seriously. You’re giving away income.
The Bad Minimalist Sorry for the late reply never got the notification. I think you’d be best finding a specialty consignment shop. Even my small hometown I moved from had one. They appraised the goods in house and would take a reasonable commission off the sale. High quality silver is sought after. Maybe if you know of a more affluent area, try there? Always a good idea.
This is a great decluttering video. I’m in the process of decluttering a house with three entire sets of everything inherited from relatives who obviously hated me. Why else would they saddle me with their crap. For all the other crones out there:. China, silver and crystal are from our generation and our parents generation. To our kids and grandkids it’s just junk. They don’t want it any more than we wanted our grandmothers corsets. Ask them if they want the stuff RIGHT NOW ( not next year or when you die) If they don’t want them now, they don’t actually want them. They just want you to store it. ( Oh, and chicklet, get a water pick. They are amazing with braces and will save your teeth from build up.)
(Still watching) I've been decluttering for like 4 years now, whether I need to move frequently or not. It's not about the actual stuff, in fact we really need almost nothing (or a lot, it's irrelevant how we put it), but it's more about how we engage the process and about how strong is the inner urge of minimizing. Anyway, I always like your content, your videos and your delicate honesty really make me feel at peace!
Brilliant declutter, it just shows how your mindset evolves with minimalism and decluttering so that you end up thinking about things differently and decluttering some more 😊
Same here... 2 years and still decluttering... It's a process... From the easier ' what I don't wear' clothes to more sentimental items and ' what I honestly don't need even though I love' stuff.... .... Join the club...
It’s always the worst to have the box of stuff on the way out but not gone. It stresses me out!! I always end up throwing it in the car and two months later I’ll get rid of it.
I’ve been at it for two years as well and im still decluttering. Actually dropping off an entire suv load of stuff today to a animal shelter that takes donations for their yard sales. I don’t know how it all comes back ! Well actually I do I have a big family who likes to give my kids a lot of stuff and they yard sale and thrift shop a lot and it somehow ends up here 🤔
I'm super jealous of how many friends you have to give things to. I just moved a few states away from my two good friends, and not being geographically close to them is messing with me. We can't swap clothes now. I can't see them. Ugh.
Have you thought about selling your silver serveware for cash? Not sure if it's plated or not but if it's not might be worth it! Thrifters who buy silver often sell it for scrap so might be worth it.
Dont buy stuff. Since i started i had donated about 5 full trash bag of clothes, and sell a bunch on mercari and poshmark. And i only shop for clothes once or twice a year when i absolutely need something (not hunting for sale). Now my closet is so empty and have all that space i have no idea what to do with. It makes cleaning and organizing so much easier though lol
is it bad that i’m both happy and disappointed with this video? 🤨 i’m happy because- woohoo! a decluttering video! finally the wait is over! 😆 i’m disappointed because- oh no! there no more decluttering future videos probably. 😭 you should rename your channel- because you are a VERY GOOD minimalist!!! 🧐 love your vids! take care and thank you for sharing! 😘 ps. plz don’t hate me for my emoji use! i like things balanced. 😅
I do, but it's definitely not minimalism-centric. It also is a nice little chronological view of how my values and how me as a person has changed since about 2012. If you want to check it out, it's @avantbasic
