Welcome to my small, awkward walk through dining room. It was barely large enough for a proper table & chairs, and I really wanted an area to entertain and spread out work in the house. Thanks to my new Castlery table & benches, it happened without the extra space needed for chairs. It’s minimal, simple & it works! I think the photo wall will soon be a gallery wall, as I collect more art. I can add a chair to each end when company comes and ditch them for the space when I need it.

I hope you guys like this video. It’s super minimal but it works in the space, and it’s great for balancing the other side and allowing a large table where I never thought I could make a large table work. Hopefully this offers a little bit of context with the living space.

evie I know! Lol. Heavier look. I think that’s why I kept it light. It’s a dirty, dusty place & somehow this felt a little more farmhouse or something! It’s a work in progress tho. I think I might recover the bench seats in a fun color or print. And or maybe a gallery wall?

I love everything you do! Out of all the decorating videos I've watched on YT, you work magic like no one else can! You can make the smallest changes yet they have a big impact! You can take an akward space and it doesn't look or feel akward when you're done! You can take thrift and affordable items and make them look amazing! Every one of your videos I've learned truly practical and usable ideas! I didn't know what French curtain rods were before. I love how they're hung very high and sit flush against the walls, and the Linen look elegant! Curtains on rings are easier to adjust and I think they just look nicer. Love how the bigger light surfaced marble table and minimal touches made the room feel open light and a comfortable timeless space to dine or work in. I love the vintage silver as vases too! And of course your dog is the cutest! I wish you'd reach out to local subscribers with a budget and willing to help with the work for future videos because I'd love to see more!

Just a fantastic table and benches!! LOVE the marble top and clean modern lines of the legs and the benches!! So nice that the dogs can jump up and watch out the front window too! And of course the paint color and the simple white curtains just freshen and lift the feeling in the whole room too! Can't wait for more changes around your home and garden!

Kimberly Holt yes! It really goes. It feels so much more open and bigger! It’s really surprising in person. I’m thinking of recovering the bench seats for a little whimsy tho but I’m loving the simple table for such a small space. I can easily add chairs for the heads of the table if company too! It’s a game changer for sure! ❤️😘

M A R Y E L I Z A B E T H that would be really fun. Like a chinoiserie fabric or something? Ghost chairs would look fab for the end of the table, too. I have a dark oak table, but switched out the chairs that came with it for ghost chairs... and it’s so nice & much lighter feeling.

That table is so nice. Well done! Suggestion: Switch that door knob out for something dark that will tie in with the frame and curtain rod, creating 3 common visual elements.

I know the feeling of having to move heavy furniture by yourself and it's not fun 😂 I had to carry two HUGE heavy sofa boxes from my rent office over to my building (Thank goodness for Walmart buckets), up a thing of steps, and to my apartment TWICE and right afterwards had to put it together, but it's so satisfying putting it together and just enjoying it especially knowing you did it by yourself.

@@heymaryelizabeth I think being on your own really makes a difference at how you view and take care of your stuff especially when you don't have a lot of friends or family around you nor have the money to pay someone to do it. Putting everything together in my house by myself makes me so appreciative of everything that I own and makes me so emotional at times.

JoJo T sold it on fb marketplace! Haha. I found it at goodwill for $20 and it was a placeholder until I figured out what was next! I’m shocked that the bigger table actually works and makes it feel bigger!

Gorgeous - as always!! Love that drapery hardware, it’s exactly what I’ve been thinking of for my bedroom. And good choice on the linen curtains - if you had hung green velvet in the window you would have had a green-ish cast over the space in the day time from the light coming through. (Although I do love green velvet - I have two pieces of vintage furniture re-upholstered in a lovely emerald green velvet.). Thanks for letting us see your lovely home so far; can’t wait to see what you’ve done/will do with your bedroom and bathroom.

I mainly ask cause I am in an odd state where I am not in a space of my own (either renting or owning) but, i would like to start purchasing some pieces in the mean time, but should/can I go to a designer/decorator for some solid guidance? Do I look at a firm or an individual? Are there dos and don't? If they come up with some serious ideas do they own them or are they fair game? I feel you can really break things down from finding one, what to expect during the process, dos and donts, and maybe some "starbucks secret menu" type stuff. But, if you do a video, can I get a shout out?

Jonathan Curtis yes! I’ve been entertaining so much more. I wish it came BEFORE thanksgiving but that’s okay! There’s always next year. I can add two chairs for the ends when people come over too. It really works! I’m shocked how much use I’m getting out of it!! ❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘

it really does look much bigger. a marble top would be my choice too, but with a 'flat-iron' base. those ranunculus are pretty. didn't know they were back in season. jane fonda as well.

Lovely! Just be warned, everyone...no pickles,no saurkraut, no kimchi, no balsamic or apple cider or white or red wine vinegar, probably no wine, citrus juice, or acids of ANY kind on that marble. I had a tiny spill on a marble kitchen countertop once and it cost HUNDREDS to sort of fix...it was never the same.

Omg I love this! But isn’t marble easily stained or scratched? Have you found this to be true for this table?

Renee Rubio so far so good! But yes, it also descends how porous and if it’s more sealed and polished vs matte. This is pretty well polished and sealed which will help. That said, I don’t mind the patina of natural stone. But it’s a personal preference for sure!
