Highly recommend trying a MagSafe wallet that can snap on the back of your iPhone. Very practical to carry, you only carry what you need, and if it’s bulking up your phone it comes off as a standalone wallet. Doubles as a stand if you go third party option
I’m too worried that it’d just slide off of my phone putting it into my pocket. Love the idea but I saw a few reviews last year that seemed to confirm my suspicions with it.
@@joshfenn I did too. But when you go from holding your phone to putting it in your pocket, your hand naturally cups it so it stays on the phone or you feel if it slips out. I’ve had mine for 6 months with a MagSafe case wearing slim and skinny pants, haven’t had an issue 🙂
Hey Josh, I always enjoy watching your EDC updates. I really like the idea of having a key organizer - but I am not sure how I can make it work since I have a couple of electronic key tags and an Airtag in my current keychain. I have been contemplating just accepting "fait accompli" and getting an Orbitkey Ring. As for glasses, I got the foldable Wayfarers last year and I am still impressed by the build quality. They are great and take up almost no space. 😎 Looking forward to a Nanobag review.
Glad you’re liking the wayfarers too! I’ve got the lite force instead of the foldables but they did so well for me for a decade, well worth the price imo. The key organizer is a tough call, depending on how many regular keys you have it might still be worth while for a key ring with organizer + AirTag keychain + electronic (car) key. I don’t drive often and share a car with my wife so I don’t usually need to bring them with me and I keep an AirTag in my sling instead of on my keys. Might be worth trying and buying from Amazon or somewhere with a liberal return policy? Tough call though, mostly just down to your preference.
I've had all my reusable bags from Blu (sold at Rock Flower or the Container Store) for almost 15 years and never had an issue. Use them for everything and wash them all the time. Totally worth the $13.
I highly recommend LastObject’s LastTissue (pocket sized). It holds six good quality small handkerchiefs and has a cool system of putting the dirty ones in the top and pulling the clean ones out of the bottom. There’s a separator that keeps them from contaminating the used from the clean. It comes in black and I LOVE mine! They sell replacement hankies as well if you need them.
Things you missed, flashlight, lighter, portable blanket, slingshot, magnet, compass, hat, I mean the list can go on though. O yeah back pocket TP seat cover kit. Saved me many times. And I just reuse target bags, pretty strong bags

Nice pick for the knife. The Bugout is a great starting point and a timeless blade. Ti scales are my fav as well. Be careful... one turns into 20 then next you know you're 100 knives in wondering what you'll buy next.
Haha I can already see it happening! Doesn’t help that the RU-vid channel gives me the perfect excuse to try more and expand the collection. Love that bugout though!
A brand that seems to fly way under the radar is Klipsch. I upgraded to their True Wireless II buds and they have been uber satisfactory. Worth checking out!

Have you ever thought about carrying a soft water bottle? There are many good options from outdoor and camping brands. One might fit your bag just as well and allow more water capacity.
I’ve tried in the past but have never been a big fan of the soft bottles for day to day use. Might try others in the future though, any recommendations?
That water bottle is interesting, but every review I see says “it’s nice but….” Or “it’s nice except…” even though yetis are so prevalent, I’ll stick with mine since I’ve left mine in my car and driven off multiple times and it’s still works as well as the day I got it. Even stands on its own no problem 😁
This sort of conclusion is exactly what I hope for in trying new things for the channel. If you’re on the fence I’d just stick with your yeti and enjoy it. The memobottle is great for a really small niche situation like walking with a sling bag, but not a great value or option for a standalone single option for someone IMO. Glad the video helped!
Memobottles are very much hyped, however they are very flawed for the price. My biggest issue is the condensing on the outside when filling cold water. It's not much of a problem with "regular shape" bottles, because they are on the outside of the bag most of the time. But you buy a fancy flat bottle to store neatly next to your other gear, and the condensing makes everything wet. I don't know where y'all from, but here, no cold water is as good as no water. And wetting my stuff isn't an option.
I definitely agree on the ‘flawed for the price’ sentiment like I mentioned in the video. In my experience though, all single wall bottles tend to have similar condensation issues regardless of shape. I usually stick to a double walled bottle if I want or need cold water/ice water.

Card case. I collect snappy bags from products I buy and put them away in size order. Have one real small snappy bag , in my EDC, that can carry some 30-business cards and can place in the bag any business cards I receive in return.
Great idea to repurpose! I save and use a lot of those small type of bags for my backpacking trips. Always great to find alternative uses, even better than traditional recycling.
Definitely ordering some mighty hanks after this, too many people have mentioned them for me to not test them out. Expect an update for summer sometime! Noted on the linkbuds review as well, maybe I’ll put together a longer term review in the coming months.
Have you checked out MightyHanks? One side is a handkerchief and the reverse is a microfiber cloth, I believe they’re handmade in the US too. I’ve seen lots of EDC tubers use them and I’m tempted to get one myself. Great video!

Those earbuds are hybrid open air, actually they are open air earbuds. They're designed so that you can be aware of your surroundings when using them. So you got to know the intended audience.
Unfortunately I haven’t tested or tried any, but that’s a great idea to check into! I’ll keep an eye and do some research, I’ll be sure to include one in an upcoming video sometime if I have any luck.
Mainly for opening packages and eating snacks, haha. It’s also been nice to have for personal defense as a last resort, the city can get a bit sketchy walking around alone in certain areas.
I have a modern fuel pen + field notes combo I use at home often, but never really found myself using it when I’m out around town. I bring it occasionally, but it always feels insincere to include non-daily items in the edc setup.
Searching for headphones that wouldn't irritatte my (prone to infection) ear canals, I've settled on bone conduction headphones by Shokz (formerly Aftershokz). If you're chasing sound quality, the latest model came out a few months back, but Aeropex from a few years back will do the job too.
The MEMO BOTTLE does not have the ability of holding soda or fizzy drinks - therefore, not for me. Pricing, I use 2nd use 600ml Pepsi bottles - for free in my EDC
Glad it’s working well for you! I use 1L smart water bottles for wilderness backpacking usually, great to save some weight in my pack and they still last a really long time.
I can’t speak for everyone but for me it’s good to have around for practical things like opening packages and cutting snacks. I also spend a lot of time walking around the city, I’ve been followed home, attacked, hassled a few times over the years and it’s a nice piece of mind/self defense sort of thing.
@@joshfenn thank you for the answer, in most E.U. countries a knife like that might be considered a weapon by the police, but you can have a small Swiss army knife on you for opening bottles of wine or beer :) . I had my share of nasty encounters with thugs/thieves but only end up in fistfights, I am afraid that if someone is pulling out a knife in a streetfight - things go really dangerous very fast . keep safe !

Totally agree with your last sentiment, I luckily haven’t been in a situation where pulling a knife felt like a good idea, I’m sure it wouldn’t end well for me as a viable safety measure tbh. Lots of mental health problems and drug addiction with our homeless population, extremely erratic behavior from some unfortunately. Mostly for me it’s just a practical day to day type of tool, and they’re made in the city I live so it’s satisfying to support our local businesses.

An EDC video, I just discovered, is simply a variation of 'here's what's in my purse', minus the lipsticks and makeup. In the same category of those so called 'unboxing videos' and 'reaction videos'. ... not exactly relevant.

A lot of people enjoy the craft/collecting aspect of knives. I definitely appreciate the craft involved but the utility as well, I use mine pretty much every day for quite a few tasks as well as safety walking around the city.
Wow I knew to subscribe when you mucked the current popular-influencer-advertised shit wallet for something tasteful. It's nice to watch an EDC video containing real opinions these days and immediately trust your judgement enough to pop into Tender Loving Empire while thrashing about town. Also that slim Plasti flask will be a perfect solution to night ride load outs. Reserve the cage for water with a nipper in the bar bag! Looking forward to more quality suggestions and content

The memobottle has been really convenient, annoyed I held off for so long on it but I’m glad I’ve got it now.
My usual bottle brush doesn’t fit unfortunately, but I have a smaller bottle brush/straw cleaner combo I picked up at a restaurant supply store that fits pretty well. Found it last year to clean small bottles for homemade cocktail syrups, it’s been working pretty well so far. No link unfortunately since it was brick and mortar.
