Funny outtakes of the dog! You know, you would leave those in and it seems to me that it would only add to your depiction of what is a live drawing experience, with all that entails... and everyone like dogs!
Awesome sketch! Love old gas stations. Had a good laugh at the end with Betty. My dog, Bubba Butterchops, barked back at Miss Betty! 😂 Keep up the fun in those splashy colors!!! 🌻
Great tutorial! By the way, for those who want to get into urban sketching, consider experimenting with different paper textures. It can significantly impact how the ink and watercolor interact and enhance the final result!
TY, Toby. Been away for a while, but did sketch daily in a travel journal. Will get back to course 1 very soon. Feel rusty. This was a good way to return to loose sketching. Frances
I've been following your videos and after a couple on loose paper I decided to use an A5 book that I had. Some are off your videos, some are my own from photos I've found. That book is full now, so I am starting another watercolour book that I've had over 20 years perhaps and never used until now. I reckon I have confidence now to fill it. So keep the videos coming.
Interesting, been watching many of your demonstrations over last couple of weeks and this is the first time I’ve spotted you using a pencil first. You usually seem to stress just going straight in with ink. Why different in this case?
i really enjoyed this demonstration, so many wonderful things going on. i never thought of using a watercolor pencil for the initial sketching- that's just brilliant! i'm still working on doing a continuous line when sketching the ink, i think my biggest problem is going too fast. the minimal palette is also great, so expressive
