I mean this song and video is probably about JJ being depressed about a relationship ending and how he needed someone in his life. But showing loving couples and friends having the time of their life and how they can live a happy life and related summer as someone that he needed. Ik how he feels because I have been feeling the same way here od lately, but all he needs is to be surrounded by friends that will cheer him up possibly.

i think the message of the song is that summer represents a relationship being over and how he needs it like the sun shines and the moonlight, since they are core aspects of nature. summer also represents his plans for summer being ruined by a relationship being lost.
