If you listen closely, you can notice that one of the instruments in this song is in reality the sound that you make in the first Donkey Kong Country when you hit the minecart rails

I always found it ironic how DKC2's mine levels had a happy sounding song despite the game's dark theme, while DKC1 had a creepy sounding mine theme when that game had a cheery and colorful style.
So like. Music has always made me rly emotional and I remember being a kid and hearing this song for the first time, like when the pseudo choir kicks in especially. And just being so profoundly affected by it lol. It's weird what moves ppl sometimes I swear
This music makes me cry and it did as a kid too… it’s likely a the combined anguish of all the creatures forced to work in the mines probably many have died… even the horrifying zingers are singing their lamentation’s…
@@zacharykenniston748 omg I know what you mean! As a kid, I had a whole big story in my head about how terrible and cruel K Rool was, and how everyone working for him were basically slaves. And then these damn apes just come through and kill them simply for being in the way😂😂😂
I get the feeling the zingers are lamenting because they were taken from their hive and families very young and worked to death in the mines as slaves. Their song always makes me tear up when I hear it.
I was listening to Jean Michael jarrs Industrial Revolution overture, and someone pointed out this song being similar in the comments, so I had to check it out myself
I heard this track isn't on the official soundtrack - not even the japanese version: Super Donkey Kong 2: Diddy & Dixie. It has 34 tracks. Doesn't seem to be there.
This song is included in the Donkey Kong Country 2 CD soundtrack. It's just listed under a different name, "Kannon's Klaim". Why? I'm not sure. I do know in various other interviews and tweets from David Wise, it sounded like he had names for all of the songs he created for those games, but sometimes they got renamed after the fact. So this could be a case of that happening.
