Warrior cats mini figures are always remind me of how funny it would be walking in a forest just to stumble upon like 30 cats just hissing at each other (anyone who saw an irl cat fight know they basically just stare at each other menacingly and growl)
I wish there was a part in the books where an important clan meeting is happening or something and then a random dude just walks into camp and causes an awkward silence as all the cats just stare at him before he walks away and the meeting continues. I know it's too intentionally funny for Warriors but oh well.
Yeah to be honest I love nightcloud and crowfeather not as a couple but I like how they are happily divorced unlike some characters who need to be *cough* bramblestar and squilf *cough*
As a Crowfeather fan I am actually very pleased with this figure; the point of Crowfeather is not that he’s cute, he’s an angsty scrunkly pile of twigs with enormous ears, and that is what is captured here.
@@Aqua_marine84 I mean we don’t know warrior cat beauty standards maybe an angsty pile of twigs with massive ears is the pinnacle of attractiveness for them lol
As a technical graphics student both leafpool and Crowfeather have a LOT of angles and tangents that make them look like absolutely hideous diagrams that we’d be told to draw in class. Sorry but who designed leafpool to have an external tangent right above her eyeball??
@@hazelfang3570 thanks! For cloudtail, I think there’s a lot of negative space? I know he’s meant to be fluffy, however the design would look a little bit better if the scars were limited to the body or just one or two near the face. He’s never specified to have scars in any of the books and even if he did, they’d be hidden underneath all of that floof! I love how dumb and cloudy he looks
i think his pupils are also too centered. the rest of the cats having a browbone makes them more expressive which makes the eyes look less… unfocused… but cloudtail’s lack of eyebrows gives him this thousand-yard-stare. if they’d moved both pupils inward just ever so slightly i think he’d look cuter.
fr, beyond the weird proportions/flatness, the design doesn’t read as ‘Cloudtail’ to me. I know he grew to be an old man in later books, but, in my mind, Cloudtail should look more like his feisty and precocious younger self. This design just looks like a generic floofy old man to me.
I mean, I'm torn with figures like crowfeather and cloudtail because I'm glad they're making the figure models look a little different for each cat, to make each one a little more unique, but it also comes at the cost of crowfeather's dignity and cloudtail's... well, no, cloudtail was always a goofy-ass-looking marshmallow edit: I actually like longtail's interpretation, as a longtail enjoyer, and the collar is a fun touch, but I really really wish it was like the snake, it looks kinda goofy being a part of the figure
@@Espion- true! i think it's pretty cool they're willing to change it up but i wish theyd keep like basic..design..guidelines... in mind ? because a lot of the minis genuinely dont look right bc basic design elements arent really done right and i hope they get better in the future if that makes sense
Ah, but you see, Frostpaw looks older because she has been eating five star leaves to try to get visions of StarClan. She is sad because the leaf she is holding is her last one, and Splashtail stole her recipe for five leaf mice brownies. It all makes perfect sense.
"what do you mean about frostpaw" I'll answer that question with a question: Have you ever been inside a Spencer's Gifts? Edit: guys, i have had to actually explain that it wasn't an inappropriate leaf to visitors to my home who saw it lying out for recording. I don't know what to tell you.
I think it's nice that they experimented with noticeably different head shapes this time! They don't look as chibi, but there's a lot more personality and variety :) plus I personally like the big noses. There's already so many toys with the tiny upturned button nose/snout, and as a person who was a big nosed kid (I got compared to squidward a lot too lol) it's nice to see some change. Reminds me a little bit of older generation children's toys where it's a little less conventionally "cute" but there's something to be said about how interesting and unique each one looks. Ex: 2023 beanie babies vs 1990's beanie babies. I suppose it comes down to a matter of personal taste, but I think they're charming! (and weed cat is iconic)
Tbh this might be my favorite batch so far, I agree with everything you said! It’s totally cool if people don’t like them but watching this the whole time I was like, actually liking them, glad I’m not alone lol
See, I like the big nosed figures a lot, the older sets had some large chihuahua-like noses that were still cute. But cats aren't supposed to have.. noses that droop down off their faces. I'm not sure what you mean about 2023 beanie babies, though. I don't think they still make traditional beanies, only Beanie Boos and beanie boo type beanies, with standardized big wide eyes, which have less facial diversity than the old ones did.
@@Moonkitti😂 I'll admit I felt a little wounded about you talking about hating those nose lines, since my cat art used the nose/upper eye curve as the focal point for my drawings
I think the leaf being HUGE in frostpaw has funny implications for the book. its never implied to be that big, but thinking of it that way is very funny
If you go to 8:50 in the video, you can see the Leafpool and Mothwing figurines touching noses while Crowfeather third wheels- Mothpool fans be winning.
I get your opinions, but almost everything you said was bad about this set is what actually made them my favourite yet. They have a lot more character, they're easier to identify {for the most part}, and just look a lot more unique than the previous ones. Even as a kid collecting every cat toy I seen ever, I would have looked at the more unique ones like Crowfeather and been ecstatic he had that long face you dont see in most cat depictions. When they all look the same they get pretty boring, but all the unique shapes actually made me want to get them more than any other official merch. I would also get the nose line complaint if all of them had super cluttered stripe designs like a lot of the older ones, but this set has pretty clean faces overall that I think work well with the lines. The only one i dont particularly like is Cloudtail because he's built like a bobblehead pancake, but I can even see some charm in that design compared to the same recoloured shapes in the old sets. No hate obviously, i just wanted to share my opinions
Yeah, a lot of adults and older teenagers like the weird designs. But you need to keep in mind that how easy these are to identify is something that kids who aren't part of the internet community are going to struggle with! Kids who grew up with new covers aren't going to make the connection with crowfeather, and most of these would have looked unique without adding unnecessary cuts.
@@Moonkitti tbh, when I was a kid i always wanted more realistic looking figures, but I understand that's not the majority of kids lol. when i was like, 11 or 12 i read literally so much about cat genetics i probably knew more about it back then than i do now HVHVGJBHNJ to be fair, these designs aren't particularly realistic at all, but I do think they would have potentially appealed to me more than extra cutesy designs. i even hated beanie boos as a kid hgvfvgjbhnj (funnily enough I actually don't mind beanie boos now-)
I am by no means educated in any sort of graphic design, but I think the differences in the molds are fun, it makes the characters distinguishable and feels much truer to how they are represented in the fandom. If I had the money, I would definitely have no quarrel with purchasing myself a lil Cloudy Santa and a Horse-faced Crowfeather. :]
I think that Crowfeather’s figure might be based off the of the cat breed the Orical because that’s what his head shape and depressed expression remind me of. I don’t know, I always thought that the Erins based some cats off of other breeds, but that is just what I think.
@@Moony1568Crowfeather on the cover of the books and in the mangas often looks skinny and long like Oriental Shorthairs (and a lot of people draw him as such in art and MAPs) and his mini looks like a pathetic attempt at an Oriental with his really large, long nose bridge, large ears, triangular face, and skinny legs.
Friends with kids who read these books, ive had three tell me "Brambleclaw is their favorite" so I am surprised he doesn't have a mini. "But he'd look just like Tigerstar" that hasn't stopped them with Jayfeather just put him in another pose. but then I'm surprised it took this long to do a Spottedleaf mini I have my weird Cinderpelt so I'm happy
longtails design honestly has to be one of my favourites out of all of the minis. hes my favourite cat and seeing him depicted as a point cat (one of, if not my favourite cat coat) is honestly so cool?? massive fan of him, ive never thought to depict him as a lynx point but this is a really nice surprise
I think they could've just made Leafpool's and Frostpaw's eyes downturned to potray their "sadness", instead of the weird lines- I definitely think they look cute with those silly lines, but it would've been better. Maybe they were going for a ... 3rd drawing kinda look? Either way the execution wasn't very good, but i love their designs. CROWFEATHER BIG EARS SUPREMACY!✨
Ngl… I actually really like these. They are super unique. I like that they all look different. The shapes and colors are much better than the previous sets in my opinion. Crowfeather looks like an oriental, which is great! I like how much they looks like themselves. However, I agree with the Cloudtail sentiment. I honestly don’t think the star looks how you think it looks. That would have never crossed my mind.
I appreciate that the design team is doing something unique with all the weird cuts in the vinyl, but tbh I wish they’d left them smooth and more like an LPS figure. I think fans could do a lot of cool, creative re-paints on them if they weren’t pigeonholed by every marking being physically cut into the character.
They could also just sell some "paint your own" sets, letting you select the pose and then sending you a white kitty model. I bet they would sell quite a lot!
What exactly is wrong with the five pointed leaf? I'm not understanding the meaning of concern. It's just a leaf with five points to represent the five Clans (Thunder, Wind, Shadow, River, and Sky).
I actually love Crowfeather's mold, it's so him. But I agree with the review of Longtail. Spottedleaf looks okay, the stars in her eyes are a nice touch. I barely know who Frostpaw is but she looks like she's holding a weed-leaf. Edit: Now I see why I have no idea who Frostpaw is, she's from a later arc than Omen of the Stars. I stopped reading the books after that.
I personally love the design for Longtail, hes somewhat reminiscent of SSS Warriors Longtail. If the collar was 3d he'd be perfect in my eyes. And as a Crowfeather enjoyer I love the figure!! He looks kinda goofy but it makes sense to me, he's this weird jagged and lanky Windclan warrior! He looks very stern and rocky! I honestly didn't even notice the nose lines until having it pointed out LOL I cant quite see the Squidward nose but I agree the lines cutting into Leafpool's muzzle marking is odd...
I really like how leafpool’s face is. Shes furrowing her brows, timid or concerned. I think the slightly longer faces are cool. I like how crowfeather looks like a big eared cat, like an oriental shorthair. Personally I think Cloudtail looks more like. Snowtuft? Kind of menacing. If it was… like, a lot of chest fluff and less cheek fluff, it would remind me of good ol chubby cloudtail. I LOVE tabby point longtail!! Did NOT expect a frostpaw, but I’m pleasantly surprised!! Also, yay, colorpoint frostpaw
Crowfeather's my second favorite character and I absolutely LOVE this figure It's both funny and oddly accurate to Crowfeather. His dead inside expression.. big ears... long face.. extreme frown... it's beautiful. Its perfection Cloudtail I'd also perfection, also because hes funny and legit looks like a big white pancake
@@Zelologist Sorry about the confusion! Also sorry to Moonkitti if she doesn't want this mentioned in the comments, but the joke is the leaf resembles a weed leaf lol
@@kateb6699 Thank you for the answer! With how she talked around it, I thought there were some heinous meaning behind that shape. Like some racist groups start using that star shape as a symbol or something. I was like, "what the heck did I just miss when I'm off the internet for just 3 days!?", LOL
Tbh I like how miserable they made Frostpaw look. Like it’s just so funny to me. “Hey kid, buy the new warrior cat merch- it’s a distressed kitty”. If they sold the minis individually I’d buy several sad Frostpaws
Idk I think these mini figs look the best yet, but maybe I'm just happy to see diverse body shapes. I really like the color and the designs overall, especially with Leafpool and Longtail. Idk about the nose lines, I think they're cute and don't really see the squidward nose, but they probably would be better without them, makes them less cluttered. I think the reason I found these the best looking is because of the colors. The other minifigs tend to have pretty harsh colors with markings that don't really compliment the colors. I just really like the diversity and colors of this set. Honestly my least favorite is Spottedleaf, here design just feels really cluttered. Cloudtail is goofy and I love him. He literally just fur. Longtail has my favorite design from the set cause it looks like the combined two of the most common designs for him, yellow and gray. It feels like they actually took inspiration from the fandom for him and I love the finished look. Frostpaw is cute and I really don't see the issue with the leaf. "It looks like that one leaf" nooottt really? I think the cartoon star symbol works well for Warrior cats, each point can represent a clan. And tbf them having an idea of what a star looks like similar to a cartoon star is kinda canon, considering the whole star leaf debocal in Dawn of the Clans. I don't think anyone is gonna confuse the leaf the cartoon cat is holding next to a bunch of other cartoon cat next to a cat book series as that one leaf. Crowfeather looks goofy in a good way IMO. Like he looks like he's trying to act all serious despite the fact he has a goofy face. It's cute. I really like he has a different face shape than the others, though they kinda went a bit too far. I like his big ol ears and I really like his colors. He feels like Crowfeather, a guy trying to act serious but failing to be acknowledged as serious. Idk, I just like the look of these more than past minifigs
crow feathers face looks uncannily simular to one of my cats face, just weirdly long and panther like. i actually really like that, it's really cute, interesting, and one of the silliest cat face shapes there are.
As a longtail fan, I don't want cloudtail sitting next to him in his mushy glory. He's making me reconsider getting the set. But maybe that's the point of him. Maybe this is peak cloudtail. Maybe he's making me want the set more.
I mean if anyone was gonna have a long muzzle, it might as well be Crowfeather. A lot of people seem to imagine him as an oriental shorthair. I want to hear crowfeather do a honk meow.
Honestly? I like them, The weird squidward noses dont bother me, Leafpools eyes dont bother me, The unfocused eyes dont bother me, And the tangent lines dont bother me. I really like the mini figs :D Except CloudTail poor dude
I actually see Crowfeather as like... having a long nose already, so tbh the mini doesn't upset me as a Crowfeather fan. Also his big frown made me laugh hysterically
I don’t get the argument for frostpaws leaf. I understand to some it looks like weed, but weed doesn’t actually look like that. Every weed logo I’ve ever seen has like six or seven points, not five. And most of the points are pointed up, not in the shape of a star. The only thing that came to my mind with the leaf (before you said anything) was the tree stars from land before time. And kids would likely think the same. Plus if people are gonna misconstrue a five pointed leaf as weed then idk how four pointed would be any better. Honestly to those people every leaf probably looks like weed. In this case I don’t think it’s at all the toys fault for you and others automatically thinking of weed.
@@Moonkitti that’s kinda the point I was trying to get at. Would any sort of pointed leaf shape not make them think of weed? You were saying a four pointed shape wouldn’t, but I’m not at all convinced of that since the five point does. Likely the only way to avoid the weed association would probably be to just not have the leaf at all. It’s just odd to me to base a review off of a preconception that the designers have absolutely no control over.
I think these are actually my favourite yet tbh, they definitely look horribly weird but for some reason I still really like their design and colours. I definitely miss the cute little noses though and cuter faces
I feel like they might have designed crowfeather to look like an oriental shorthair (cat breed with huge ears, a long nose, & defined cheekbones) & taking that into consideration I actually really like the way he turned out :) It does look kind of goofy regardless but in an endearing way at least lmao
the fact that a series as markeatable as warriors has such deplorable official merch is really mind boggling to me. like id like to have a talk with their art director becuase it's like it's a goal to make them uncanny. that is if they even have a director.
Honestly as a big Leafpool and Crowfeather fan I love those nose lines. I like the idea both of them are cats with long elegant muzzles and to me their faces look more recognizable that way
Crowfeathers ears are way too big, compared to the rest of the face. I don’t mind longtail that much, he looks great, i think he’s my favorite. but oh no. OH NO CLOUDTAIL MY BOY. WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU. MY BOY! Also, he’s like fluffy and chubby but then it’s thinner then the other minis, i think. It’s like.. skinny from the top view. Frostpaws leaf is really weird, i know (or at least i hope) it’s supposed to be a star but it’s so.. goofy. It love frostpaws mini, but it looks very sad. Please give these cats some help, and longtail some love.
I was totally lost on the 5 pointed star thing. Initially i was like "would old people not like it bcuz 5 point star demonic star? But itd hsve to be upside down" then had to scroll through the comments to find out it was hinting to mary jane 💀
I just like how goofy some of the minis look, gives them a funny looking character. Though saying that I'm someone who will like something becaus eof the amount of enjoyment I get out of something rather than how good they look or quality
I kind of want to see Shadowsight somewhere in series six. I'd also really like to see characters from Dawn of the Clans show up in merchandise, but I highly doubt it since it seems like the writers of Warrior cats try to openly forget that Dawn of the Clans even exists 💀
I agree with a lot of comments here that this shows art is subjective because I really like this batch! I love the different head shapes (though admittedly Cloudtail looks SO goofy and off), but especially on Crowfeather. I always imagined him as an oriental shorthair with a long nose bridge and longer face, so I think it suits him a lot. Even those lil cuts above the nose! Butttt I can see where you're coming from on cats like Leafpool, where I feel like it would look a tad better to remove those cuts all together. I also really love the pose Frostpaw has; it's varied, she's holding something, and it's so cute she's standing on her hind legs. Tbh I didn't even think of the implications the five-point leaf would have as it's shaped so much like a star. There is 100% room for improvement, but I am feeling like this is the right direction in terms of experimenting with body types, fur types, etc. It's certainly interesting how differing peoples perceptions can be.
Moonkitti the clip of almost naked animals when talking about leafpool's nose gave me whiplash and i was too distracted by it to focus on what you were saying Thank you for reminding me about that nightmare of a show
