For once I would like to see a company make a magnetic lid without the need of opening another lid with screws... Or if you're going to have another lid with screws underneath then give us protruding thumb screws that you don't need a tool to unscrew... "Easy access" should really mean easy access...it can be done, it's just that nobody is actually doing it.
Great review of a great mini-pc. Yeah I really hate too-bright power LEDs and especially blue ones, some black tape or sharpie comes in handy sometimes.
how does this compare to Beelink SER8? I just placed order for SER8 to use as my Plex Media Server. Main usage is around Media hosting and sharing with family. I will upgrade it to a 2TB SSD
Sent mine back, Wireless was absolutely useless on it.Constant disconnections and 600Mbit one second then drops to a tenth. May have been a faulty card, tried different drivers.
@@Robtech i don't expect mini pc to be good as pc but 30 fps in a game is really bad, i guess u could use it for work but not for gaming. I notice u add ssd will it perform worse without the ssd?
I recently managed to fix my GTX 980M laptop with 4GB of VRAM. At least on Cyberpunk which I have, I seem to be getting similar numbers, at least with the official benchmark, high settings and balanced FSR 2.1 If I turn the settings to medium, with high textures, balanced FSR 2.1, and (as always) lens flare, blurring, film grain to off, I get about 36. I thought it was interesting.
Looks like the same bad design of the Oculink and HDMI port. They placed the Oculink port to close to the HDMI port as they did on my UM780 XTX. I ended up having to shave down the top of the HDMI cable plug plastic housing to have room for the Oculink plug to fit without it being wedged in up against the HMDI plug. Waiting on my Minisforum DEG1 to ship. Thanks
@@Robtech I have the deg1 dock and a cheap AliExpress one, both work fine, only issue I have is I have to power cycle the um890 I have to turn on and hold power to shut it down and then power on again or my 4080 doesn't turn on, bit strange not sure if its my power supply for the 4080, as it does the same with my hx77g.
I'm ok if they get taller if its to make them better at cooling. I'd rather have vertical gains then horizontal in these minis. As long as it's not over 4'' tall. (Not what she said!)
With each review one mini is cut from the list to make room for another as the graphs can't handle more and deciding which one is always a struggle. Since the X600 is a DIY option only, it got cut sooner. Anyone interested in its performance can check out the two videos for it.
Just missing a SD card reader. I guess I can use one of the USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports and use an adapter. This is a winner! Thanks for the review and testing!
The only downsides are: that adding the OCulink takes it down to just one internal M.2 SSD, and the fan looks proprietary, and the side ventilation grills look like they could be easily broken.
If you wanted you could buy a 8tb m.2, I've only tried a 4tb and that works fine. But it's always good to have an internal backup drive if anything goes wrong, just wish it would of had that extra m.2 port.
It is either OCulink or it isn't, so it is for Minisforum to fix it. If it was currently be shown to work with their own dock then that would raise a great deal of suspicion.
