That’s my dad Chris and truthfully he’s an amazing guy. I was church hurt for a long time and it took years for me. Personally I even gave up on God all together but eventually with a lot of healing rededicated my life to the Lord. My dad I can honestly say is one of the kindest most loving people you’ll ever meet but he will talk your ear off if you’ll let him! Thank you for allowing him to come by I’ve heard him talk about you for a very long time and trust me when I say you fulfilled a dream of his! 😂
My husband is definitely church hurt. He got sick of hearing the priest always talking about people not donating enough money. We could barely make the basics. We were very young. In the early 80's. We had 1 junker for a car. We had two kids. Youngest was always sick. Ear infections were never ending. 😓 So.. he was done. I went with the kids. Made sure they received their sacraments.

Pastor Gary Hamrick and his staff too. You can go there anytime. They make you feel that belong there forever. They love you, even on line, as if you were a meet with them always. I am glad that that pastor is reaching out to you. The Lord is coming soon. Forgiveness is a wonderful feeling. Yes, I am sorry you were hurt, so bad, you walked away from attending church. Church doesn't save you. Jesus does!

I’m church hurt too. The Baptist church came to collect unpaid tithes from my dying grandmother. The Catholic church refused to christen my niece’s twins cuz she hadn’t been to mass. Well that’s cuz she was on bed rest through her pregnancy. My niece grew up in that church. I decided i was done with organized religion. I believe u don’t have to go sit in a church to live a Christian life.
I went to a Lutheran church throughout most of my life and was quite active. When my daughter was planning her wedding she wanted to get married at that church. We made arrangements. At rehearsal I heard the woman who handles weddings make snide remarks about how my family wasn't one of the important families in the church. I about had a fit!!
This video touched me. The prayer at the beginning was so calming. Chris has a gentle voice and you can tell he knows the Lord. Glad you agreed to visit with him. I pray he was able to bring peace and healing to your hurt. I love love loved to see Starla and Starbuck. I was amazed the longhorns were gentle with Chris. This is one of my favorite videos.
The fact that there is a term called 'church hurt' tells you all you need to know Lester. If it happens enough that they made a name for it then don't waste your time worrying over it. Church is your family, your land, and your animals.
So very true. I've not stepped inside a church in years. I also have my personal reasons. I was raised in the church and went to parochial school from kindergarten to 12th grade. With all my trials and tribulations I still pray my rosary every night. If I am near a chapel I'll walk in light a candle and pray. Lester is a good man and I respect his reasons.❤

Lester I’ve been church hurt since I was 15 years old. I continued to go to church until I was about 23 but all the churches I went to the pastor were caught having an affair with one of the church members. I went back in my 30’s and the same thing happened. I have more faith in God since I stopped going because I didn’t look towards a man to destroy my faith. I say I’m a follower of Christ now because “Christians” give religion a bad name. You can believe in God wherever you are. You don’t need a brick and mortar building to believe and worship Him ❤️❤️❤️

I understand the laziness of people nowadays. On the bright side, we went to lunch today and had the BEST waitress. The food wasn't very good but the service was fantastic. Can you spray paint the cattle panels black so the will blend in better? It would be a lot of work but I think it would look nice.
I was Church Hurt about 30 years ago and haven't been back since. Didn't affect my beliefs any, I just didn't need the "social" of it all. I have been going to church online for the past 10 years and enjoy every minute of it. I don't need a building or the pettiness/hypocrisy of the CHURCH GOING CHRISTIANS.

I’m giving church attendance another try, but the hardest lesson I had to learn was to forgive those in the church who hurt me. Forgiveness has been a valuable gift for me. God bless you. 🩷
I remember being hurt by a church, but finally found a church home and I have the best fellowship and community. Five of the women and I have breakfast every Wednesday together, and every summer we go on a girls vacation. We also love all the others members and we have such a healthy relationship. My pastor and his wife have me over for dinner anytime I am available, and their four children call me mama J and I love it. So I say there are really good churches out there and don’t give up…BLESSINGS
That’s so great that Chris talked with you. Church hurt is pretty awful! Been super hurt in a church, but had super support and great healing in an awesome, loving church. There are amazing churches out there. The main thing is to not give up on Christ because of his sinful followers.
Lester, I remember years ago when you shared your church experience with us and I remember you saying you didn't need a building to see God. You pointed to various animals and each one you said you saw God. The one that really hit my heart was little Journey, who you and Jami gave the best life possible with all her physical problems. I think she was sitting on the mower like the little lady she was, and you pointed to her and " I see God." That was the most beautiful testimony I ever heard and how fitting that God sent Pastor Chris to come visit you in your field and bless you and the animals in your care. ❤

Lester my son was church hurt when he was young. He and my daughter quit going at 12yrs of age. I have given each of my kids Bibles. When troubles come and we talk grab your b Bible read it believe it. This reading believing will help❤❤

Lester your mom was on her chat with Gig 3 or 4 days ago. She was so hurt that the minister or her best friend in church did not text her or phone her to ask her anything about the flood etc. We'll the minister did call her and she told him about her feelings. So she is very hurt about her long time church didn't care enough for her. Chris seems like a very good man. I'm happy he said a prayer for you and your land and longhorns. No you are so correct. I went to 2 places this week and got the worst customer service ever I Evan ask them what’s the deal.they said oh we are short staffed I said so you take it out on your customer huh not good at all she looks at me with that ding ding look
I'm basically in the same boat as you, Lester, except I never had any kind of church in my upbringing. I'm trying so hard to find a relationship with God. I've been watching sermons by normal flawed humans daily & it's brought me so much comfort.
We don't have a Lowe's but we do have a Home Depot, and all you have to do is ask for help gathering and loading inside the store and to your vehicle, or when you check out with the cashier for anything being picked up outside. They'll send someone right away. They even have a giant saw in back and will cut lumber, plywood etc. to your needed measurements for free!
Boy oh boy Lester I know how you feel, I am a 56 year old woman and every time I go to Lowe’s I have to load my own stuff. Usually a nice customer helps. I don’t understand it it is very sad the customer service at some places now a days! Love pastor Chris what a blessing he is ❤

Chris's' message is true, never give up on Christ because he will never give up on you. It doesn't matter if you go to a building for prayer or your back yard, it's your personal relationship with Christ that matters.
I'm ANITA: Lester: If we go to Church we will all get "Church Hurt". We just have to remember that when our family does something to hurt us or something maybe; we don't agree with we forgive them and love them. A Church is our Church Family and we are going to get hurt or upset from time to time. I've been there too. We and I did; just have to remember to Pray for them that God shows them the hurt they caused me and give me the strength to Over Come my hurt. Lay it at the Lords Feet in Prayer and leave it there. God will answer that Prayer down the road. I've been there! Pray for the Church that God helps them and guide them in fulfulling his Word. Buy some of the black paint that is made for bbq grills and other outdoor metal items and paint the new cattle panels so they will just kind of disappear into the existing fencing at the J&L ranch. Might be a good job for Little Chris to tackle.

Church hurt is real and we all need to remember that people can hurt and aren’t perfect. It is hard to forget why we get hurt but we need to forgive those imperfect people. I’m glad you got to meet Chris and you were able to have the time for fellowship with him,, Gi was saying how hurt she felt during and after the flood,,No one from the church contacted them to see if they were ok, the pastor contacted her saying he missed her at the senior centre that Monday just after the flood and your mom said to him have you forgotten my home got flooded, he actually had forgotten and as of the video she put out she hadn’t heard from anyone from the church I believe you don’t need a church or building to go to Lester to have a relationship with the Lord and Jesus, they are all around us 💖 Is it nice to have that fellowship, yes of course, but sometimes we are better off without it, God bless 🥰💖💖💖
I used to travel for work and I spent a summer in Houston. I will never again complain about the humidity in Indianapolis after spending a summer in Houston and experiencing the humidity there.
Oh Lester I have been church hurt. I have not been to church now for 20+ years. I have not changed my feeling for our lord and savior. It was mankind that did this. They fell for a trick of the devil. I know that beyond a shadow of a doubt. My heart is with you because I do know the pain it has caused me. I recently told a Walmart employee that came over and proceeded to tell me how to checkout that I knew exactly what I was doing and I wasn't getting paid to do her job by checking myself out and bagging all my stuff myself so please leave me alone. She walked away muttering while I continued to do her job for free!! She was fortunate she caught me in a less aggressive mood and didn't get really ugly! Work ethics is a thing of the past! Entitlement has taken its place and lazy people want everything handed to them on a silver platter! It's a sad, sad world!

I was church hurt years ago by the Catholic Church. Tried the Christian church. Same thing. I’m not a fan of so called organized religion. I don’t need a church. It’s all money and hypocrisy anymore. Churches have lost their ways for the last couple decades. I just believe in God, have Jesus in my heart, pray and try to be a good person. That was lovely of Mr. Chris to pray over y’all.

@@longhornlestersYou can ask for help loading things in the store as well. I had to accept that in 2013 and the years since I became disabled and can’t pickup more than a 6 pack of sodas anymore. Was a very hard pill to swallow considering this girl could lift up to 100lbs by myself before then.
It's just pretty frustrating when they obviously have hired people to help customers but unless you ask they just sit there and watch you. You should never have to ask they should do their job, it's just the way this younger generation is reply too busy sitting in the shade playing games on their phones.

Lester, I can't help but wonder - how do small businesses with poor customer service manage to survive? It is also another example of the difference in generations. When our grandparents were young, they were taught manners and to always help a fellow person out. Now - it is such a shame that some people just don't care to help one another out 😔 I'm so very sorry that they treated you like that. I was suprised how well Chris was able to approach Jolene, she is the wrecking ball, and he just went right up there and rubbed her head and she let him. Its amazing how intuitive animals are.
