Should be. Apparently it was factory produced and written by the industry big wigs to appeal to the maInstream. They pretty much only used Al as a face to advertise it. This is why he's hated it for 40 years and is remaking what he can to reclaim the music as his own once more.
If Al adopted this approach for a future album-catchy synth leads like ‘With Sympathy,’ heavy guitars, and his incredibly on point clean vocals-he’d have his most successful album in 30 years. I can’t get over how amazing his voice is. Uncle Al, it doesn’t suck. It’s incredible. Do more of this.
Al said hes going to be retiring Ministry soon, but wants to remake some of his old synth stuff from With Sympathy ❤. A huge gift to his original fans who have been with him on his musical journey since 1981. Hes coming full circle to retire Ministry. Love love love Al jourgenson. ❤
I'm glad I got to see this live, it was great. On the way to the show, I played this song for the boys. Told them it was a great song but that they wouldn't play it live. I was very fortunately wrong.
Had the privilege to be there for this! My grandpa listened to them as a youngin. Getting to see this at my first concert at 21 was the best experience ever! This was my favorite song they played!
Thank you for posting! This is incredible. A round of applause to Uncle Al’s current band mates, his daughter, the “With Sympathy” cover band and countless others who encouraged him to revisit his early work.
He wrote all of the songs on “With Sympathy” with a little help from his former band mates (Stevo, Rob, etc.) “She’s Got A Cause” was performed at their very first gig in Chicago on NYE 1981.
So bad ass. This is what Ministry needs to return to. The noisy ferocity of the records from ‘92 onwards were great industrial metal but having a contrast of synthy pop is a necessary palate cleanse that shows the width of Ministry.
Huge With Sympathy fan here, and hearing this making me teary. Funny though my introduction to Ministry was Psalm 69,and when I first saw WS in the stores I didn't think it was the same band. Until I saw the pic of Al in the album, and then when I heard it totally blew me away. Thought he would never play this again lol Hope they get this back in the setlist.I would seriously consider seeing them in concert just to hear some With Sympathy songs. ❤
This is GREAT! Was afraid Uncle Al & Co. were going to take a nu-metal shit on this classic, but they amped it up 10 notches and now its..A STONE CLASSIC! Watch these new versions be mega influential in years to come.
If anyone has not seen the interview with Uncle Al on Yahoo Entertainment, you should. He talks about his early days in Chicago and how he "sold out": to Clive Davis before he started. Really must see for any Ministry fan.
I’m guessing it is an unusually chilly day in heck now and I think I just saw a pig fly overhead but this sounds great as expected! 🔥🖤. I’ll look forward to hearing more! 😎
yea I love the old With Sympathy stuff, he said in an interview once in the 1980s to burn that record, but look at him here performing the hit single. Well done. I love it.
Sheesh, I don’t even know what to say. What a gift! I feel like my life is actually a little more complete now. Can’t wait to hear what Al does with Effigy and Work for Love. With Sympathy is absolutely brilliant and one of the best records of the 80s 🤚🏻🥀
When I saw that this was on the set for the tour I didn't believe it, but now I do and I cant believe I have to miss my towns date because Id love to see this live
This is still one of my favorite if not my favorite from them. It’s definitely interesting to how he plays it now. I definitely need to go see them play again
Hallelujah! I can't believe he delivered on his promise! In that interview I was so surprised to see him discussing With Sympathy in such a chill way that when he stated " we're gonna redo Revenge and play it again " I thought Al was just teasing us. I'm also a bit disappointed though, because he said "it's still gonna sound like a pop song" and somehow I was not expecting it to turn out like this.
Was this at Dos Equis with Filter, Alice Cooper, and Rob Zombie? If so I was behind you about halfway up the seats lol. Awesome show. Loved the new White Trash song😂
