You are such a wise and prepared mother! I wish I had been like that when I was a mother of young children! I think you are a fine example of a Proverbs 31 woman!
That could be the best Mother’s Day gift for u…a professional car detailing! I just did my car for the first time since I bought it, it’s worth the money
Hi Hillary, I was going to clean my car this weekend but it rained cats and dogs here in Nova Scotia, Canada, so I'll do it next weekend. Also I always give my father's car a good cleaning for a father's day gift.
Love this!! It’s so easy to keep your car clean! Every time we get out we do a once over and take the garbage into the house. As the kids get older they can help too. I found tube shaped pads that go over the seatbelt hub and between the front seat and console that keeps crumbs and dust from falling between the seats! I also like to keep a good pair of tweezers in the first aid kit for splinters too.
We have only once in 48 years driven a car from the current decade, so car care is part of our regular routine. I might suggest one extra pair of adult sunglasses for the driver and b possibly a few of those thin, plastic ponchos. I love to see young families maintain and extending the lives of big ticket items.
Hillary This is one of my favorite annual videos. It is helpful with what I need in my van. Not just a catch all for grocery bags and window washer fluid. Thanks again.
My 7 seater is 20 yrs old! I’ve had it 8 yrs (from family member, who had from new!) and it looks great when I’ve hoovered it out! My 5 grandkids absolutely love it!
Our car is 14 years old, completely paid for, and with low mileage will last a long time. The best thing we did was buy weather tech floor mats. They have absolutely saved the flooring from numerous spills and just daily dirt.
Love the cardboard water “bottles”. I don’t keep water in my car in the summer because of the plastic, but now I see there’s an alternative. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for the reminder to do this! I have frequently needed nail clippers while away from home but never thought to add a pair to the first aid kit; I definitely will be incorporating that soon. I keep a microfiber cloth in our car door pocket for those times when the inside windows steam up.
I just did this in our full-size van. I added baby powder this year after watching your videos for so many years. I keep outfits for all 8 kids as well as dollar tree flip flops...so many times we've been out and someone has had a shoe malfunction. I also have some car cleaning products. I tidy the van anytime we have to wait somewhere. Hair bands, a brush, and feminine products are kept in there, too. And Dollar bills and quarters because of our little locally owned toll bridge as well as parking at the library.
Wonderful. I plan to spend a lot of time with my grandkids (8 & 10) this summer while their parents work from home. I always keep my car clean, but this helped my figure out what to stock for Summer outings 👍🏻
We have the EXACT same white Toyota Sienna mini van with gray interior! LOL They're great vehicles and are essential when having a growing family! I like the idea of having extra items on board for the upcoming months ahead! Thank you for the motivation! 💓
You are really prepared! I like the bins under the seat. That’s a great idea! I try to have everyone take everything out of the car when we get home but that doesn’t always happen.
Great ideas! Although, in the heat of Arizona, we can’t keep any chapstick in the car - it will be a melted mess. Also can’t keep any bug sprays, sunscreens, hand sanitizers, etc. The heat denaturizes the ingredients, and also the containers can explode :( Love all the other ideas though!
I REALLY need to do this with my suburban. You've given me some great ideas on what to keep in there. I always keep extra clothes for my little ones. I also keep all my reusable grocery bags in there too. And a pencil case of colored pencils (so they don't melt) and paper for times when we need it.💛
Hey my lovely friend & yt Sister! Been away a bit from this corner of my world but back now & so happy to catch up on your videos! I just binge watched all your VEDA which I usually do too but missed it this year. I invite you to visit my little corner & looking forward to more of your videos! Big Congrats on your pregnancy! I love that through the years your content stays true to who you are! Hugs& Many Blessings!♥️♥️♥️
Love the box water idea! I save those almost full but open bottles (I do not buy them, kids get them elsewhere) in the back to rinse off feet before the baby powder as well.....if they haven't watered a plant already lol.
Lovely seeing your video this morning. Great summer motivational video for families with small children. Even though my kids are grown men and my granddaughters are 14 and 10 years old I like to keep things in my car in case of need. I definitely need to restock some essentials. I always keep my car neat and clean. I can’t stand leaving things messy in my car. My husband’s car, unfortunately, looks like the city dump. Haha.
Ummmm....talcum powder for getting sand off? 50+ year old here, that lives in Australia by the beach. What is this magic, and why haven't i heard of this? Please share your wisdom 😁
I now keep a small bottle of Lysol disinfectant spray, Lysol or Purell Hand wipes, Lysol Disinfectant wipes ( for surfaces ), hand sanitizer and lots of extra masks.
FYI ...my car charger is not able to be stored in my vehicle because temperature fluctuations render it useless ( I agree... rather silly). However you should check your owner’s manual so there are no surprises 😬
I liked that comment "you don't have to be surrounded by mess all the time." That's priceless! And so true. Your minivan looks so great and organized that it must put you in a good mood just to hop into it with the kids now.
Professional Car Detailing is a nice treat, but I find I do a much better detailed job on my own... if you want something done right - do it yourself! I actually could use a Pottie Seat for myself, with all these public bathrooms closed!
hillary you are actually glowing in this 4th pregnancy. i if you feel like you look you are feeling super great! the hair cut is growing out but it is so becoming. love your practical ideas for a mommy car!
