Mix and Match for your bed is just fine! You can make a throw pillow with the case that is single.

🌸Hi Hilary! I have an idea for the pillow case, cut the back off of the pattern pillowcase to have 2 pieces that are identical. Repeat that process with a solid color pillow case like white or cream and sew the opposite pieces together that way the backs are solid and the fronts have the beautiful pattern piece. ❤️❤️

I use microfiber gloves to dust my wood blinds. They work great and it's very quick!

I have such a hatred of cleaning blinds that I took all of ours down and replaced them with blackout curtains! Lol They are easy to take down and shake them outside or wash them, if needed. My husband loves when, in the winter, I close them at night...he says it feels super cozy😊

I do love curtains but in our kids rooms I found they just became a hassle, got caught behind beds, got pulled down... maybe one day when they’re older we’ll put some back up 💛

We no longer have blinds; we have 'pull down' shades in a light blocking fabric; and no curtains either..... When we did have blinds, I would wear cotton terry gloves, moistened with cleaner,...and pinch each slat between my thumb and other fingers and run it across each slat... easier than a rag!

I totally gave up on slatted blinds. They are such a pain to clean. I opted for roman shades. I can drop them fully and vacuum them. Game changer for me.

I use a microfiber stick duster to dust our blinds and I do one window a week, rotating through the house. I hate that task and that way it never feels overwhelming or super dusty. 😊

Soft vinyl zippered containers are really nice for anything stored under beds. Keeps the dust off everything and really easy to pull out from under. Hard plastic containers may scratch your beautiful floors.

My favorite RU-vidr ❤ maybe you could turn that one pillow case into a throw pillow for your bed. use the cream ones with that set and then have the throw pillow that matches the sheets aswell

Just a thought! You might want to dust the backs of pictures & mirrors. I hadn't done this in my bedroom in years & was shocked at the dust. Great job tho!

Bravo for showing the dust bunnies. We had to move our refrigerator due to a power issue and was shocked at the dust bunnies and just dirt. It all got cleaned up. Thanks for your videos.

I often have to think of some advice you once gave us, Hilary. "clean is new". It's easier to be patient for those changes we want to make when what we have in the meantime is thoroughly clean!

I did my spring cleaning last week and it felt so good! For the blinds, I use Endust. It helps to trap all of the dust and does a great job at cleaning the blinds.

In addition to my normal housekeeping I deep clean one room every week in rotation which keeps the dust etc down. I also have blinds in every room and found a thick cotton sock over your hand is a good way to give them a quick clean which again keeps the dust from accumulating too much. I’ve loved all your spring cleaning videos I’ve been doing the same and as you say it’s so satisfying to have a room deep cleaned.

The best investment I ever made was a Kirby vacuum I bought in 1989 with attachments. That baby kills dust.

I just went through this with my two-story home recently, and although we have no children, deep cleaning was still in order. Now that it’s Spring, we can go outside and do our favorite thing...gardening....while knowing the inside is thoroughly clean!

I take my blinds down and take them outside and hang them up, scrub them with soapy water and a soft brush and then hose them off. Definitely easier than wiping each slat.

Definitely a dust mitten is helpful! I have got one from norwex and one from ecloth. And they are washable and that’s a plus!

Great motivation as I just had to do the same deep clean on our guest bedroom. My mother in law will be staying with us for a long weekend as she transitions from her apartment into assisted living. For the past year we used our guest room as storage while we renovated our living room so the guest room was very dirty and cluttered! Project completed!

Wonderful job Hilary!!! Nothing like knowing everything has been deep cleaned. I did away with those types of blinds. I switched to the pleated material shades. I just vacuum them and use a duster on them 😊. It all looks fantastic!!!! 👍🏻🪣🧽🧹

I’d try deconstructing the one pillow case and deconstructing a cream pillow case (perhaps another spare) so you have two matching patterned cases. But truth be told, your bed looks so very charming

I have the same blinds you do and cleaned them the way you do for years. When we painted the kitchen and took them down I took them out to the driveway and ligHtly powe washed them. It took minutes and they have never been cleaner. Will do this once a year for all from now on.

@@lisaa3978 Yes. They are suspended from two brackets with little flaps that flip open and closed, so you just flip them up and slide the blinds out. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a bigger chore than it was and was surprised at how easy it is to do and how quick. Lay down some plastic tarps to wash them on (so they don't scratch on concrete), spray to wet, throw some dish soap on and scrub with a wet broom. Rinse, turn over, repeat, then make sure all soap is off the tarp and blinds and let dry for an hour in full sun. Rehang. Easy.

I use a dampened craft sponge paint brush to dust off blinds, window sills and trims, baseboards and door frames, also on picture frames and lamp bases...grabs that dust and gets in crevices and can get a whole bag of brushes at dollar tree, discount drug, dollar general etc.

we used to have the old metal venetian blinds and my mother would put them on the clothesline an hose them down. wallpaper would be very nice...just give him some color!

I lay an old sheet outside and then put the blinds on top. Use your outdoor hose to give them a good cleaning.

Hello. I use my Norwex dust mitt to go over the whole closed blind, then I use a damp eco rag and I hold it where I can do the top and underneath at the same time. Leaves it so clean.

I look for bags of handles and drawer pulls at thrift shops....usually get 8 to 10 handles for 3 dlooars a bag! I use Rustoleum antique bronze to paint them

I don't mind the blinds as much as detailing the windows and sills. You need enough water to clean the crevices, but that causes some runs on the outside of the sill which means wiping off the siding, too! I am hoping to buy a small steam shot tool to solve that problem with less mess. Your home looks beautiful between the extreme organizational changes and your Spring cleaning.

I had wooden blinds and used to take each slat out and wipe down. It made it a little less tedious.

Dust is my worst enemy and keeps creeping up in my house. It's hard to keep up in my house with a family of seven but I use my hand dandy Bissell bagged vacuum cleaner. The best thing every for the price. It's got a lot of abuse but it's still running. Dust wand can spread the dust but I was thinking you can use a dust wand and a vacuum cleaner at the same time. It may save time cleaning. Love how you get the job done because who else will clean like a mom! ;)

I take my blinds down, lay them on a tarp in the yard and clean them using a small scrub brush, soap & water. Then rinse and lay on old towels in the sun until they dry. You have to wait until a warm, sunny day to do it though!

My old house had blinds. I did the deep clean once and it was agonizing. In our new house I refuse to have blinds, we just have blackout curtains. My suggestion, don’t have blinds 😂 I’m new to this channel but definitely in love.

Use the one pillow case and slip the extra sheets inside it. It will keep dust off of your clean set under the bed. ( at least until u find the other one)
