Taking a look at the 55lb thrust Minn Kota Powerdrive trolling motor to see if it's worth it. How well does it work? Is it strong enough? How fast is it? Do I even need it??

I am thinking about getting the MK powerdrive for my 16ft Lowe..I live a stones throw from you in Wichita!😊 My boat is a Lowe Skorpion with a 50hp Merc and its light so the wind pushes me everywhere and thats why I want to buy this Minn Kota for the anchor feature..I dont know how many anchors I have lost tangled in submerged trees.

Great video 👍 Completely off topic in regards to the trolling motor, may I ask what the ring and strap locks to the trailer are called that you have installed to your boat and trailer. The reason being, I am about to take ownership of a Carolina skiff 16ft boat, and the previous owner has advised me to purchase trailer straps. Now, IN MY MIND, (Being an ex-European truck driver, I was thinking that the big load holding straps would work fine). But from your install, it looks like I'd be going wayyy over kill buying such big straps lo. Knowing what the eyes and straps are called that you used will help me tremendously in my search for my own. Thanks again, and best regards to you and yours 👍

For sure! They are called retractable transom tie downs. I’ve used them on several boats and they are pretty awesome. I buy them from bass pro. I bought a set last week in fact for another boat and they were $59. Good luck and tight lines!

I wont get the quick release because my trolling motor never comes off and my boat stays in my garage.

For the plug into your boat did you have to buy the plug outlet and plug itself or did it come in the box?

It was already in the boat when I bought it but as I understand they just bought the plug.

You should try fishing Meade lake. I’ve been having luck with bass there.

@@nocoastangling same here man everyone hates bass fishing there but it’s the closest thing to me so I go there often and surprisingly I’ve been catching bass. I’ve just been throwing crawfish and spinners around trees.

@@nocoastangling I’ve been catching 2-3 pounders. Waiting on water temps to go up. Yes boat ramp is open I went out today seen like 3 boats out there bass fishing. That jon boat would be perfect to troll around the lake. The bites are slow but I’ve been catching them. You should try fishing that pond at the college in dodge I caught a lot of bass there last year.

No this particular model comes with the gps already installed. Spot lock and navigation heading.

@@BrokenRRT for sure! Anything I can do to make it easier for other guys. Took me awhile to find the right one. Sometimes even the guys at bass pro don’t know what they are talking about. 😂
