Any reason why you installed the mounts so low? I am thinking on installing at the top of the transom so tilt brackets can be used.. Also, all the holes would be up in the splash well.

Great video I am also interested in adding them to my boat 2018 basstracker how much weight did it add to your boat. Also how do you like them any trouble at all. Thanks in advance

A group 31 battery can weigh anywhere from 60 to 75 lbs in most cases.. this install was on a buddies boat.. I have 2 on my boat for my 80lb minn Kota ulterra I have had no issues with them at all..

Wow on my boat I don't have to deal with taking the desk off. Mine is hallowed out back on the transom and it's open.

That would definitely make the job a lot easier! Lol.. usually I only put these on bass boats with jack plate mounts..

@@ReelLifeFisherman I could probably do this job you did, but if this were me I better set aside 3 full days so I can stop and think before I do something. But if you do this enough times I suppose you can do this in about 3 hours. What are you doing is the exception rather than the rule. Regardless of how you mount it most installations are not this hard. I hope you had a few cool beverages after doing this.

You absolutely should always take your time before drilling into any boat.. you only get one shot at it! Any mistakes will always be there and could possibly ruin a boat.. I always take my time.. I’m not as fast as some guys.. but I take my time and do it right at a pace I feel comfortable with.. thanks for watching the channel! And let me know if you ever have any questions.. tight lines!🎣

How reliable are the talons not sure these or power poles

They are pretty reliable.. it’s really more of a space and weight issue.. talons don’t require the space to mount pumps.. but they are much heavier and use more battery juice.. the only issue mechanically is the can sometimes get small gravel pieces up in the slides which can be a pain to get out.. but talons can go deeper than power poles if you get the bigger ones.. hope that helps.. let me know if you have any questions.. thanks for watching

I have a '20 V-19 Targa Combo with a 9.9 kicker and ladder but I think can get one installed between the big motor (200 Pro XS) and the ladder or cut it like you did which was genius BTW. Would you even bother with 1 talon tho? I see other rigs with only 1 but I just can't get 2 with my kicker. I could use the sandwich style adaptor and remove the big motor but this is not a bass boat. Also, do you know if Tracker would void the warranty? Did you check?

Right now I only have one 10ft on the rear of my 21ft Tritoon and I have been told that one will keep you in one spot but high wind could spin the boat around. I just installed it today so I’ll let ya know soon. Lol 😂 My thinking is to try one to see how it does and if needs more I’ll add another Talon to the opposite side on the front of the boat. We’ll see ? Lol
