Charlie you did in man. Went up around 35 and north. It’s not Detroit but I’m glad you weren’t filming at night. I used to ride my motorbike home from around there after bar tending back in the daze. Hell no I ain’t stopping for a red light. Word?
I also know and recognize all these exact locations in both cities. 1 other major difference is Taxes are A lot Higher in Minnesota, they built a shit ton of new multi-million dollar stadiums and the city spent a ridiculous amount of money rebuilding a bunch of new buildings in the bad area's of both North and South Minneapolis.
You should show people more Indian Reservations out West... a lot of people have forgotten about what those government-funded projects are looking like.
Well yes, "Twin Cities" originally applied to opposite banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, and thus people from neighboring St. Paul have disowned Minneapolis in terms of Twin City nomenclature.
You love driving down the streets with like 100 people chilling hanging out. Me personally I can't do that. I'm paranoid I'm gonna accidentally drive over somebody's foot. 😂
@@bartenderzzz because alot of places boarded back up awaiting the verdict on the Derek Chauvin trial. I live on west lake and pretty much everywhere is boarded up, but they're open. Even the target across from the burned police station that was looted is back open.
7:40 You went right by my homie crib 😂 that hood no joke right there tho. Just a tip for anybody from out of town: In Milwaukee, when the streets start to look like alleyways you know you in the wrong place. 😂 No matter if you on the north or south side.
I'm from Milwaukee and let me tell you you rolled through the most raggedy part of Milwaukee, it's not like that everywhere mainly the Northside and some of the South and East side is like that
I miss MPLS. It's gotten way worse since I left. Always been some rough ares but MPLS has some really decent ates as well. Just gotten be mindful and know where you are at so you don't get jacked
The difference between these two cities is who settled them. Milwaukée is a very German city, Minneapolis a very Scandinavian city. History has shown how differently the groups approached life.
1.22:look the boy, you are the boss of laa Stati Uniti, all the ghetto you never problems and know alls the peole.Big Charlie!!! 2:40 Begin the danger ghetto!!! and you nothing problems.... 5:27 Ehi, but the nissan pathfinder also in Stati Uniti? i things only en asia and Europe 5:40 EHIII the location of HAPPY DAYS Milwaukee!! Ehi, not so different from years 70 -80 inside the film HAPPY DAYS Good video super Charlie. Hellooo Good pasqua
Nah he missed the whole hood. He didn’t hit Hawthorne which has the highest homicide rate and he didn’t go to main areas where the riots where down south
Minneapolis is much more socialist than most cities, and as such street sweepers, people who pick trash up off the sidewalks, etc. are much more broadly applied there than in places like Philadelphia or Chicago or Milwaukee etc. which are more capitalist and as such have more neighborhood-tax-ratio-based street cleaning budgets.
@@josheternal they didn't even deliver food where I was at on Auer lol I lived on 27th Kilbourne some places would come there either. Got huge culture shock when I moved out the hood few years ago. Still go down for kids haircuts cus suburbs do not line up my boys right. Ijs
@@arielatarantino6671 they wont deliver to 27 and Kilbourn? That dont even sound right to me. That area aint even that bad no more. Pretty gentrified. Still some prostitution and the occasional shooting, but to me the hood dont start til you get north of Vliet. Now, as far as how bad 27 and Kilbourn USED TO BE, thats a different story. It was awful in the early 90s. Now its this half gentrified mix of crackheads and college students 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@josheternal some places didn't like chicken man. I lived behind the Wendy's lol idk I know two blocks east was good. I lived there in 2010. I lived on Auer from 2011 till I moved here few years ago. I stayed on Hampton growing up. My grandpa owned the bar on corner Claudes on Hampton lol I stayed in house next to it and use to take shots of sprite. I've moved all over tho. My oldest son born in 2001 I moved to 11th Lapham and 7th Grant, and 13th Arthur. So lived Southside hood too lol. Either way I didn't have no problems. Moved my mom few years ago before she died from 27th Hadley. Obviously u got be smart. Use to walk with my kids and my friends where she lived 35th Cherry. I am happy for having a diverse family and my kids experience the same. Unlike whit folks here they got read books on how to teach your kids not to be racist I was like naw just send them to an all blk daycare like I did lol My kids don't see color cus we all different colors and been shown so many different things. We will never judge a person because of it. Wish more parents were like that tho. I got love for my city no matter how bad it can get. Just part of the experience there.
Minneapolis hoods sweet af. I grew up on the northside of Milwaukee and now live on the westside of Chicago. Being in Minneapolis I swear I never felt more at ease in my life. And since I see some people trying to talk numbers and statistics: Last year we had 189 murders while Minneapolis only had 82. So far, this year 2021 we've had 42 murders while Minneapolis only had 22. We have double the amount of murders and violence, its not even close. You gotta keep in mind we're closer to Chicago than we are to Minnesota.
@@mauricespeltz1818 Yeah no shit, but Baltimore and Detroit are all worse places than Milwaukee. I wouldnt wanna live there, I been to the east side of Detroit, matter fact every side bad tbh. But Detroit, Baltimore and St Louis are in the Top 20 most dangerous cities in the world. You got the game fucked up and think being in a place with a lot of murders is cool or something. Why you think Milwauke and Detroit and Baltimore weren't rioting this summer while yall were busy burning down your own city like its cool or something? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_murder_rate
Spent a lot of time in both cities but anyone noticed how many cameras are in Minneapolis? I swear they are like on every single street light and when you get downtown they are on every single corner every single building you are constantly on camera at all times.
My dad lived in Northwest Milwaukee during the late 80s-early 90s. After he got back he briefly lived in North Minneapolis before raising me and my family in New Hope. To this day he can't say a single good thing about Milwaukee. Even said at one point that Milwaukee's inner city makes our inner city look like Disneyland and said he always feels stress-free in any part of Minneapolis bc it's nothing compared to the stress of living in Milwaukee.
I've lived in both city's. I'm from Milwaukee though. And I can tell you Milwaukee is 100x worse. I'm 33 y.o I was just shot in my leg a couple years ago while walking my dog minding my business in whats considered the "nicer area" of the city. I've been shot at 3x in Milwaukee and thankfully only hit the one time. I've lost more friends to gun violence then I can count. Just the other day we had 45 shootings overnight.
I bet you seen plenty people running red lights, driving in the bike lane or flying past you on the right side baselining against the curb 😂😂 Milwaukee is filled with plenty 11-15 year olds driving crazy in stolen cars. Or as we call em “stollies”
Ayyee my hometown mpls...northside off Broadway...then southside off Lake St....yeah thats some of the hoods of the twin cities....it use to be sweet there back in the 80s-90s...now not so much
Interesting. Two totally different vibes. Milwaukee is definitely poorer but has the older Victorians, & families that have been there for 100 years. Minneapolis is more cosmopolitan, more businesy feeling... definitely colder in the winter.
Mpls has plenty victorians too, there just isn't as many in the "hood areas". St Paul right next door has the highest concentration of victorians in the country
I'm from Over South mpls but damn, Milwaukee look wts too fasho. S/o Charlie for showing this type of love to some of the lower-key major cities in the Midwest
Itd be funny if he included a disclaimer "Alley driving is an inherently dangerous activity. Charliebo313 is a trained professional. Do not try at home."
@CharlieBo313 next time you are in Minneapolis hit me up and come over to where I live in Burnsville I'll cook some BBQ for you to show my appreciation for all the videos you make. Grillin some Flank Steak tonight :-)
I have been on the East Coast all my life.Upstate NY,Richmond VA and Raleigh NC.I am thinking of moving to St Louis for a year just for a change.I am 57 and don't have anybody to answer to,so why the hell not?Midwest would be different.
@GlockBoy Sota Comparing violent crime rates for both cities...murder: Milwaukee 20, Minneaolis 10- aggrevated assult: Milwaukee 1034, Minneapolis 534- robbery: Milwaukee 490, Minneapolis 434. As you can see, Milwaukee has a far worse over all violent crime rate.
The E Lake St footage of Minneapolis shown here beginning at 3:50 was a busy and vibrant area until the unrest last year following the death of George Floyd (eight blocks south from the intersection at 4:20). Only the hotel at 4:50 was boarded up prior to last summer.
@@namelessone3339 Yeah! The East Lake St was busy and vibrant area, I remember that when I would always visit my family each summer back in the 80's era. You are absolutely right about how it was. Its terrible what the world has come too.
I'm from Milwaukee my mom moved with the younger ones out to Minneapolis to escape the crime in Milwaukee I visit all the time way nicer than Milwaukee 😅
Milwaukee is technically "more dangerous" statistically but the TC's are a huuuuuge metro area and we got hoods spread throughout. You should have walked into that Winner Gas in N Minneapolis that was in the first couple of minutes, fun stuff always happens there :))
Milwaukee never had 130 they was getting 80 -115 range from 1989 to 2019 you guys are literally braking records now. Minneapolis was worser with a higher murder rate in the 90s we had 365k people y'all had 650k with 165 🤣😂 we had 100 , y'all broke y'all record in 2020 and did again in 2022 Milwaukee just became dangerous
Milwaukee in 1991 had a population of 630,000 and in 2020 it had a population of 590,000, but in 1991 it had 165 murders and 2020 had around 200 murders, how was it worse? 🤔
@@user-uq8jz7sw3c was talking about the blight and abandoned houses. Back then there were many abandoned historic victorian houses south of north avenue. They were torn down and now empty lots. It was quite surreal to see the crack epidemic and violence against the backdrop of those stunning buildings.
For being in neighboring states these cities are nothing like each other. Milwaukee is far more dangerous and run-down, Minneapolis hoods don’t even compare. S/o my city tho, Milwaukee #414 love
@GlockBoy Sota people get killed every day in Milwaukee. If minneapolis talking every other day or every other week, I'll take it. These fools crazy. I'm from Chicago so I've seen worse. I'm not taking up for no city that may kill my babies one day.
