MINOR BOY GOES MISSING IN DIMAPUR’S DHANSIRI RIVER

As the entire state of Nagaland continues to witness massive rainfall, a 13 year old minor boy has been feared to be drowned in Dhansiri river near Purana Bazar in Dimapur on May 15. The incident took place as the boy who is a class 8 student of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School went to swim in the river along with two of his friends. According to locals, although his friends tried to rescue the boy, however, the boy was swept away with the stream. A team of Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), a diving team of the Indian army and special forces diving team from Guwahati have started a joint search operation but till this moment no traces have been found

One thing to keep in mind always --- NEVER GO TO RIVER. WE NAGAS GENERALLY DON'T KNOW SWIMMING. DON'T PUT LIFE AT RISK.

If your brother and his friends died trying to save the boys, they could have been awarded for their bravery... (Param Vir Chakra or whatever it is called)... but when you're alive... after doing these great deeds, you and your good deeds are left behind... abandoned... but we all know life goes on this way

Some of his friends came home n call him to go to the river .. n he with his elder brother went with them without informing their parents.. both the brothers saw their 2 frnz drowning so they jump in the water to help n both of them got drown .. the younger one said to the elder since we both are gonna die.. you live i die n he pushed his brother to the safe zone n some nearby youths cme n pull him out.. n they could not save the younger one.. he is gone… Do remember their family members in your prayers 🙏🏻

It's no surprise that ..one drowns in the river every now and then regardless of any seasons! We never learn and we may never! Ama papa khan..morom Para apni laga bacha kote jaiase aro ki kuri ase bhal Para sawi..and this goes out to all citizens too, life is precious! And We nagas love to gamble with it. Let's not try to be a victim of such tragedy.

It doesn't matter which season is it. Every year a man gets drowned in this river and the this kind of tragedy happens. So everyone (especially male) should be very careful and stay away from the river. The river doesn't check whether he's a good swimmer or not, it just takes life away

I don't think NSDRF team are well-trained and well-equipped to tackle this kind of mishaps. The terrains and geographical features are also rough and mostly hard for human to access to, but with the help of outside professional experts, I hope the situation will be taken control of and the hapless boy's dead body be retrieve soon, and handed over to the grieving family.
