Minotaur 5e Class Guide: www.skullsplit...
Minotaurs are downright iconic. Bullheaded monsters that stalk the labyrinth and hunt down those foolish enough to challenge their deadly maze. That whole “monster” thing has largely fallen by the wayside though, as we have playable minotaurs in both Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica and Mythic Odysseys of Theros. They’re big, angry, and ready to charge into your adventures like a bull in a china shop. Try to keep track of all the twists and turns in this maze as we go through everything you need to know.

By far my favorite character I have played in D&D was a Minotaur paladin with one horn, named Shvark. He was taken in by a couple who helped run a small church in their village. He was a very simple minded character with about a 7 intelligence which is funny because he grew up to become a paladin. He was very oblivious to the reputation of his people in Faerun and was an extremely kind hearted neutral good character. His traveling companion and best friend was a man named Fredrick Summer who Shvark always referred to him as Freddy. Playing a Minotaur was so much fun and make very complicated and captivating characters. Not to mention the vast role play potential of a Minotaur. If you are wondering if you want to play a Minotaur character in your next campaign do it, you wont regret it.

This is a really solid video on minotaurs! There are a couple out there about the history of minotaurs throughout the older editions, but I really appreciated your attention to the differences in 5e publications. I really wish the selection for minotaur names were better! Ultimately, I picked a Greek name from the Xanathar's Guide to Everything list for male characters: Xanthos. He's a paladin who swore an Oath of Glory and I love the idea of mixing the trope of a Grecian hero who fights a minotaur and one that is the monstrous race who seeks to find fame and glory as a noble knight in a holy order. My DM has a custom list of deities, so even though we're playing in the Forgotten Realms setting (customized to a later year), we have some deities from other settings. My god wound up being Heironeous, god of chivalry and honor. I love the idea, like you pointed out, that you can play with the expectation of minotaurs to have more complex characters! Anyway, great video! I liked and subscribed for ya! Keep up the good work!

I'm playing a minotaur barbarian with a shipwright background. In the world setting minotaurs were created during war to defeat an enemy by calling on a beast spirit, a la Baphomet. However, my PC's recent ancestors turned away from the evil god/spirit and stopped eating sentient species. Now they venerate a 'Wildmother' type goddess that's more of a neutral alignment. My PC was separated from his family around 10 years old and was saved by a human pirate merchant. He was on the ship with a diverse crew until the start of the campaign, about 7 years later.

Clunk is very tall and wide at the shoulders, his horns are even wider. he has to walk sideways though most doorways due to his horns. Clunk has lived a simple yet complicated life without his knowing. He has been many things including a soldier, guard, drug mule, hit man, gang leader, cult leader, and many more to list without clunk knowing. He's like the Forest Gump of D n D. Clunk is covered in tattoos, brands and scars, his horns are wrapped in dented metal, his ears and nose are pierced with large golden rings. His jet black hair runs the length of his back like a long mane. The tops of his hoofs are also covered in metal plate. He wears a tan leather vest and shorts. On his back in a great axe and club. He is very large and intimidating but is very nice to every one. when you look into his dark black eyes you can tell there is nothing going on in his head. Clunk is a simple minotaur. clunk likes to eat, clunk likes to sleep, clunk likes to lift heavy things. Due to his lack of intelligence he can be easily used and manipulated. Clunk Hates being called names or being made to feel stupid, he will go into an uncontrollable rage. Clunk will kill without hesitation if he thinks your being mean to him or his friends.

I fell out of love with my last character, so we're getting her to exit stage right when we hit the next major city, and I am bringing in a minotaur fighter. I wanted to go classic fighter build so that the depth of the character could be in his personality, and not his class (which was the trouble that happened with my last character). We're playing Out of the Abyss. I enjoy choosing languages to fit into different racial langues. For Goliaths I often use Mongolian, for Minotaur I use ancient Greek (because I'm a sucker for the classics). So, my character's name is λόγιος, which he knows how to spell, but not how to pronounce (it's logios, but he calls himself ee-oh-gee-os). It means "scholarly" or "learned". He has been a slave for all of his life, and doesn't remember his parents. When he was young, he belonged do the drow, but a duergar raiding party captured him before his 10th year as he was being transported to the slave markets of Menzoberranzan. Here he became the property of the Deepking Hoargar Steelshadow V, and was given to the Steelshadow forgemasters, where his curiosity and aptitude moved him from a position of guard and muscle, to apprentice smith by his early 20s. He has never seen the sun. Despite this, he is very mild and soft spoken (even though I use a super deep demonic vocal fry voice for him), he is proud of his position as an apprentice smith and contributor to his society, and he is very comfortable with his life as a slave (especially given the treatment of the duergar was much more utilitarian than the brutality of the drow), as this has been the only life he's known. He defends duergar culture, and spends his evenings with the Cairngorm Clan of stone giants within the city, talking and learning about philosophy and art. Because of the stone giant influence in his life, he is also a prolific jewelry in the adornment of the weapons he creates. On his days off (because slaves don't really get days off), he runs the Steelshadow Weapon Emporium in the dock district, a way for the Steelshadow clan to flaunt opulence, by having their 8' tall minotaur, dressed in the finest fashion of the city, taking weapon commissions. The only sign of his enslavement the cast iron arm bands of his clan. As his city falls deeper and deeper into insanity, λόγιος seeks to escape with the adventuring party that arrives, first in hopes of finding a way of curing his city of the madness that has overcome them, but then in the realization that he is free ... and in that the world beyond the darkness is filled with light.

Mine is a monster. He works within the confines of the law (lawful evil) basically only because it's easier to find work, wenches, and good fight. He likes money so staying on good terms with people (at least by his logic) makes earning it easier. His evil side shows up in battle. He has zero mercy and anyone who challenges him or his party is a dead man walking. I one time made him drag a beaten but still living ork to the outskirts of the town it and its cronies were ransacking just to make it dig it's own grave. Which he promptly buried the ork alive in after tying it up and dropping it into the hole. When asked what possessed him to be so excessive by the bard of his party he simply replied "It was unworthy of the gift that is my axe. It surrendered when its clan mates died at our hands. Why would I give him an honorable fate? Cowards deserve to die slow."

Late to the party, but I’m making a Minotaur Bard-Barian in the aesthetic of a highland cow. His name is Angus(because I can’t help myself and love a good pun) and he plays the bagpipes when not wielding a Claymore. The second son of a prominent clan chieftain, he still seeks to prove himself. Big and bold, he wants to be the life of the party, and his laugh will shake the Timbers of many a tavern.

I had a minataour named Ralph. He was a totem bear barbarian rune knight fighter. He made it to level 20 using his trustworthy spear. And mastery of many weapons. Using the ring of telekinesis as a mobile battlr station. He one shot a divone foe twice. He now is a captian of the kingdom he build with his fairy wife. Now we are in a new campain invading said kingdom. The dm used him to grow to a massive size using the normal methods. And suplexed a terraqse

I have a Minotaur character his privet name is Cadmus but publicly he is known by Smash. He is a 4th level Fighter Battle Master. I really lucked out on my stat rolls. 18 Str which became a 20, 17 Con which became an 18, a 14 Dex, 11 Cha, 10 wis, and 9 Int. I took Archery fighting stile. I also took Sharpshooter as a feat at 4th level I have darts To Hit (+9) Damage(piercing) (1d4 (+7)) Range 20/60 [Sharpshooter (+4 hit) (1d4 +17 dam)] Longsword To Hit (+7) Damage (slashing) (1-hand1d8 2-hand 1d10 (+7)) Horns To Hit (+7) Damage (piercing) (1d6 (+7)) As he found his self alone in a world of humans who are hostile to other species and him not being able to speak at all as he only knows is the Woven and Minotaur languages (DMs idea not mine as common is not a language in his game). He found some adventures who took him in do his physical strength in battle. As he found his self alone with being stripped of any family, he not understanding that the humans where not as friendly to him as he thought he declared that they are now his family and he would protect them to his death. He was cursed by some cursed gold and he thought that they saved him as the cursed was broken but they actually had just given up on him and was going to leave him to his fate to the curse. I had written a long speech that he had given to the other characters why he accepted them as family. As the other players knew that they actually gave him up to the curse I really hit them with one hell of a guilt trip since Cadmas did not understand the others talking in human that they will just abandon him to suffer his fate from the curse and they will just go on their own way without him.

Several years late on this one haha. I'm still very new to DnD. I'm getting ready to play a minotaur in a campaign and have been researching minotaurs and everything about them. I've talked to my DM and we've come up with an interesting one. A minotaur warlock hex-blade. He was/is the shaman of his tribe. Which was attacked (unsure as to what at the moment) and all but him were killed, he was left for dead cause of injury and knocked out. So he's out for revenge of some kind of whatever attacked and made a warlock "pact". Something like that, still trying to flesh things out. But that's a rough starter.

ok, so in forgotten realms thier are at least 1 minotaur, off the top of my head, in lore that was not just a monster, so thier are likely a few not crazy minotaurs out thier in the setting. The one i am thinking of in particular was a pirate captain, are rather successful one as he bought a island city at some point and ruled it for years before he was hunted down and murdered by the son of the old lord of that city, and you are not going to bring up the Krynn minotuar? as for my fav Minotaur to play it was in 3.5, a Gestalt Artificer/Dread Necromancer Praedo, Tiberius Maximo, Immortuos. He was Tomb Tainted and passed himself off as a Paladin as he adventured in the hairless monkey's lands on a quest for knowledge and bodies. He intended to unite the Minotaur clans and carve out a kingdom for his people.

our dm is allowing us to stack and create (try atleast), to create ridiculous over powered pc's, i had originally chosen a minotaur barbarian with ungodly stat rolls and stat boosts, by the end of just creating my lawful neutral minotaur i had an AC 18 17hp +7 to intimidation and other stats. First few sessions in and we by chance stumble upon a vampire werewolf war and ended having lycanthropy. cant wait for future sessions

this is his backstory literally the cow from barnyard Otis is a mischievous, fun-loving and carefree Holstein cow who lives on a local farm and prefers having fun with his best friends - Pip, Freddy, Peck and Pig - rather than following strict rules and accepting responsibility; much to the chagrin and annoyance of his stern and uptight adoptive father and leader of the farm's community, Ben. After Otis interrupts a routine morning roll call and meeting with his usual antics, Ben warns Otis that he will never be happy if he continues without acting more responsible and mature, but he deliberately ignores his father's advice and leaves to do so anyway. That same day, Otis meets a pregnant cow named Daisy, who has moved to the farm with her friend Bessy. That night after the farmer goes to bed, the animals throw a wild party in the barn that everyone attends, except Ben, who decides to guard the fence line. Otis is assigned a shift along with Ben, but Otis cleverly talks himself out of that work. Before he leaves, Ben tells him that the night he found him as a calf stumbling alone in the meadow, he swore he saw the stars dance, which reminded him that his place was at the farm. Soon after, Ben takes on a pack of evil coyotes who raid the farm's coop and manages to fight off the pack until he is bitten on the leg by their leader Dag, thus making him fall. The coyotes pile on Ben, who manages to grab Dag's leg to escape the pile; using Dag to overpower his followers. He then threatens to punch Dag but lets him go, scaring him and the coyotes away in defeat. Ben then falls to the ground, exhausted and fatally injured. Otis is alerted and he runs outside to his father, who soon dies from his injuries. Early the next morning, Ben's body is buried on the farm's hillside by the farmer and the other animals mourn him once the farmer leaves except for Otis, who is most saddened by the loss of his father and sits at his post. Following Ben's death, the farm's community elects Otis as their new leader. Otis chooses to irresponsibly shirk his duties by leaving Freddy and Peck in charge of the coop, then with the help of the trouble-making Jersey Cows, teaches a lesson to a mean and overweight youngster nicknamed Snotty Boy for his cow tipping, eluding the authorities afterwards. Later that night, Otis shares a romantic moment with Daisy where she reveals that her husband and the rest of her herd had drowned during a flood, leaving her and Bessy as the only surviving members of the herd. Otis comforts her, but witnesses the coyotes chasing a rabbit and he leaves her to take them on to avenge his father's murder, but is outnumbered. Taking advantage of Otis' lack of strength, Dag proposes a deal: he and his pack will take some of the farm's animals at random times and if Otis tries to do anything about it, they will openly kill them all. Realising his chances for victory are slim, Otis ultimately decides to leave the farm. The next morning, before leaving, Otis is informed that the coyotes have kidnapped the hens including Maddy, the daughter of one of them who looks up to him. Otis realises that Dag doubled-crossed him, knowing that he was not expecting him and the coyotes until nightfall, and sets off to rescue the hens. Otis arrives at the coyotes' junkyard home to fight them off and manages to gain the upper hand, until Dag bites his leg. However, Pip, Pig, Freddy, Peck, Ben's old friend Miles, a colony of gophers who live near the farm and are close friends with Otis and the Jersey Cows arrive to help him. Dag tries to attack Otis from behind, but he is alerted when Peck successfully manages to crow a warning. Otis thwarts Dag's attack and threatens to punch him like Ben did, but warns him to never return to the farm before sending him flying out of the junkyard; finally avenging his father. On their way home, Pip reveals to Otis that Daisy went into labour after he left. The group then steals a biker gang's motorcycles from a diner and make it back in time to witness Daisy giving birth to a calf that she names Lil' Ben. Otis then takes full responsibility and becomes the new leader of the farm community as he watches the stars of himself, Daisy and Lil' Ben dancing just like Ben said. A meteor hits the barn with his friends and family in it every one of them are presumed dead so he becomes an alcoholic spending all his days at the bar using his families and friends inheritance until one day he decides to learn to fight so nobody he loves ever gets hurt again.
