My problem with this is that a character made by point buy/standard array is going to be objectively weaker than a rolled character most of the time, simply because there's no way to go above 15 here. I would propose to allow 16 in point buy.
Meanwhile I've made a White Dragon (yes you heard correct) Paladin Narmer (in this world Its draconic for curse/cursed) A Silver Dragon named "S'vettgarr" (evolution) recruited him into Bahamuts Accolytes, Narmer not feeling worthy of Bahamuts graces and gifts. His twisted mind has made him a Powerful Cryomancer who serves bahamut (built as a Hexblade Sorcadin), tho prone to violence Narmer works with S'vettgar as a counterbalance (S'Vettgarr being more logical and able to Slow Narmers Chilling rage). S'vett works on his Mastery of Lightning (sorcadin working towards his mastery over the Elements of the sky). Narmer is Highly intelligent (homebrewed the int) and not as Dimwitted as most white dragons, thru his mastery of Ice and cold it granted him clarity and insight (that and vecna revealing ancients forbidden knowledge, so rp wise it also threw his Int way up)
You might be surprised that it needs to be said not to play a stereotype but it actually does need to be said when it comes to playing a Native American. Thanks to the media and the lack of education that the general public receives, we’re seen as jokes and less than human. That’s why we’re referred to as “Indigenous creatures” or “something else”. I saw one guy playing as a Native in a Deadlands game and he was talking like Tonto. I ended up stopping the video because of the racism.
On the bombarian concept we can choose to also be a Radiant Consumption Aasimar (aoe radiant damage+a source of minor healing. Hmm zealot than becomes a little bit more interesting instead.) and pact of the chain with the gift of the ever-living ones for maxed healing so that we can stay in combat for as long as possible.
Im a grung wizard named Frogrik Spell-hopper. I love the race, and poison skin is so fun for roleplay. a climbing speed of 25ft? does that mean ive been casting spiderclimb for nothing? Am i stupid?
Currently Pal 2/Sword Bard 10. Going all Bard after Lvl2 Pal. Magical Secrets do more for our Mele Attacks and mobility than Pal levels. (Far Step/Spirit Guardians) (Tensers Transformation/ Greater Steed?)(WISH/ whatever). Going all the way to lvl 20.
Our last session introduced a deck, and of course we all drew until two of our characters were dead (one being mine), and many cool things were gained. Now my loyal knight that I pulled before death is going on a quest to save the dead characters. I freaking love this item.
I went for a human Barbarian/druid that dual wields daggers, looking forward to getting Wolfheart and being able to wild shape to that of a wolf for extra Awwooooo flavor!!! UwU
I have a Shifter that I originally just planned to be a plain barbarian but with her story shenanigans being able to take the lycanthropy vibes even further just sounds sick. Plus being able to shift halfway through combat just seems like an epic “I’m taking this shit serious now” moment. Also thinking about a giant constrictor snake or saber tooth tiger growing quills after shifting is even cooler to me (she’s a Beasthide Shifter but she’s a made up animal that has a ton of quills, thus the quills)
You are a pleasure to listen to and watch, good human. My long commute to and from Harlem NYC from Long Island (where the traffic is legend) has become my personal tank of learning during those hours on the road.
Planning on making a dhampir character and working in every emo edgelord reference I can. Blade, Batman, Hellsing, Alucard and the Belmonts from Calstevania, Vampire Hunter D, etc. The roleplay will basically just be Batman from the Lego movie, self serious but to the point where everyone just thinks he's lame and weird.
Human underwent a bloody rite (where he had to battle creatures and feed on them and is bathed in their blood) in the lower realms and gets plopped back to the prime. Now a dhampir; Lycan blood hunter seeking to save his crew and find the agents of the dominion who stole everything from him.
I don’t know anything about D&D when I started my first campaign with my friends. I came in on their second session with a character I cobbled together with little understanding on how the process actually worked. My first character ended up being a sooty owl looking Aarakocra Druid/Fighter whose introduction included killing off half the board in two moves. She ended up having the highest kill count in the party and earned the affectionate nickname, “blood bird.” I used barn owl screeches as sound effects and she also liked to dye her feathers to make herself appear to be drenched in blood. I unintentionally created an OP demonic-looking murder monster but boy was she fun to play.
Unarmored: talk with your DM about changing from WIZ, so you aren't truly MAD. Ex: an Arcane Trix using INT for Unarmored. You could argue being Intelligent enough to see how blows will come, and block, is just as possible as being Wise enough to know how a foe will attack, and prepare for it. Shadow Trix: ki-fueled additional spells, teleportation, while you dance around and shut down foes. Devil's sight via Eldritch Adept + Darkness on yourself = annoyed DM.
Forst time playing an aasimar, im making him a barbarian. His backstory used to be a knoght of the order because his deva told him to join it. My character would stick to the oath pledged in the knoght order he pledged to a tea and in this order hed have to kill anyone who didnt abide by their rules. He made a friend that wasnt a knight and they were good friends for wuite a while until he found out his friend had broken one of the oaths and He had to be killed by the hands of citrine (my character). After this incident it made him rethink the values of good and evil and he decided what makes a person evil is their willingness to kill an innocent person. He tries his best to stay true to his code but even though hes grown so much he still hates rvil with a passion and will kill anyone at all costs if they do kill an innocent person. This side of himself scares him because he knows that he killed innocent people in the past with the excuse that they were evil and he fears he’ll kill a person who does not deserve it.
Question and I do not know if this has been done before? Should these cards be in the hands of a bbeg, how screwed would the party be if he uses the skull on all of us while he makes easy work on his own? Cause our current campained homebrew, six cards have been drawn now and um... barbarian got goated into drawing one from this twisted tabaxi jester nutcase and got a demon huntress hunting him. Wizard drew the idoit card and has become a vegetative state now worth being a meat shield. And lastly our bard drew the ruin card to his already debt now multiplied by hundreds. Also we got captured because bbeg drew the knight who killed our ranger in a ambush..
I love the machine god build. It reminds of one of my favorite animes "I didn't want to get hurt, so I maxed out my defense" (animes have weird but specific titles)
Still researching but looking to go down the 3/17 split but with Pact of the Tome. Cantrip scaling is the main idea and while covering my elemental bases with it and EB for Force. It doesn’t need to be overwhelming powerful, just needs to be versatile. It’s actual spell slots all dedicated to either defensive spells or manipulation. Not sure if I should go 3W/17R or the other way around as both get pretty powerful they just miss the last 3 levels that I’ll need to weight against each other. Currently only 1R/2W in the campaign so we’ll see. I don’t have all the books so DnDBeyond doesn’t allow for a lot of choice in character creation. Charging the same as the physical version of the book for an online only version also hurts the pocket.
I have a chaotic-good grung character named Trex. He was living in his jungle tribe as a small child, human settlers killed them and he was the sole survivor. Afterwards, he was forced to flee to the nearby city where he started a gang with the goal of ending oppression against grung.
Hey brother, doing great! Just wanted to note that this is the second video where you've spoken on the war caster feat saying that you can only cast a cantrip with instead of a melee attack on opportunity attacks. As long as the spell only targets one creature, you can also use leveled spells with war caster. Inflict wounds as someone is leaving your area has been a favorite on my cleric build. Although, fitting with a fighter mage, the booming blade cantrip is a solid choice for them since they have a limited leveled spell resource with multiclassing.
Well I was a lizardfolk fighter that had the leaping lizard, sheild, and that rapier, and not to forget about the defensive tactics as my fighting style and when I tried to do this my DM whent hell no and destroyed my character now the only thing I have is my bite and hungry jaws and that is it nothing else
