Wow. As it should be! The rest of us blokes out here are improvising and thinking through every detail and are keen on seeing how someone else solved the questions. So yeah we want to know more of what and how. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
I'm going to do a new video because it has had the last of its improvements now. Rear end and a few little tweaks. Pus one on my troopy. Just got a turbo fitted to the 2H
A cool Tojo and a great choice with the 1uz-fe... The best little V8 in the world. It's like any other V8 but built much, much better. 1uz's for everyone!
Deliberately went for the fat stocky look with wheel spacers and 15.5 wide rubber. Touch wood haven't had any issues with police. They see it more as a toy. I have just done New head lights, front and rear bars. Will post new vid
G'day my thought for a 40 series is to have one cut down the middle and widened? then grafted onto a Hummer, Chev, Ford truck running gear, or fabricated custom chassie? maybe lengthened also for a 6x6 conversion, portal axles just some of my idea's
Nice engine but I would of done everything I could to make it stick. Sorry its nice though very good looking FJ and I salute you for choosing a V8 Toyota and not some Chevy engine.
I'm in the process of putting an 1UZ, a340 (original automatic with the 1uz) and HF2A transfer case. Did you use the original transfer case? I'm having problems with rear driveshaft length and have to shift the motor forwards, away from the firewall. How long is your rear driveshaft?
@@superchargedFJ40 Hi, Thanks for the reply. Nice ride you got there. After I started fabricating the adapter plate I bought another transfer case that fitted the automatic gearbox. Did you have to move the transfer case rearwards and shorten your rear driveshaft (if so, how long)? Is your engine close to the firewall, or shifted a bit forwards?
Reckon a 1uzfe vvti would sound as good?? Looking at getting an 98> ls400 chopped and shipped over here. Anybody know which transfer box mates to the standard A650e gearbox?? Thanks in advance chaps :D
I have had two FJ40s and one of the big attractions was that low end crawl and that long stroke six cylinder! It would be interesting to know how that compares off road to the original in a crawl by crawl comparison. Which would stall first?
I see. What about the handling diff? You lost a significant amount of weight up front with that six yanked. How did that effect it in mud and snow and the slick stuff?
Hey Mate, I had an engineering shop make up an Adaptor Plate. It was very tricky as the oil was leaking out until it was perfected. The oil in the gearbox feeds the TC.
hi mate, yes it is 4x4. i have air lockers fitted. used the original transfer case but had an engineering shop make up an adapter late for me to connect it to the Auto box.
