Well @@melindahernandez8778 I'm sorry to break it to you, it's all a gimmick from Antenna Man and Mint Mobile!!! Or Mint Mobile in it's self.... I wanted to see the options, so I decided to get the "so called" $15 (e-SIM for my iphone) plan to see if I was going to pay $15 at checkout. Come to find out that I would have to pay for 3 months worth of service at $45. It's all a lie!!! They (or the website) won't tell you if you want or you have to get 3 months of service (nothing on the fine print). They put it by default, and there's no way around it!!! Either pay or don't get it at all... Mint Mobile says they're cheap, but it's not... So I think it's a bit dum because can't choose it at the beginning, have to pay the 3 months and then pay 15 per month....

Two months in on Mint , and am extremely impressed. My internet speeds have peaked at 600mb. Had Verizon prepaid and never went above 160mb on 5G. Just got my 2nd month no bill usage and it has told me my average data use for the two months. I do stream music alot and average about 5 1/2 gigs. Even over 1 gig cant get you 600 mb which stands for mega bytes. Also, mint is a MVNO & de-prioritized network. This dude is sponsored, but getting away from disclosing his commission fooling people. Had Mint for past 8 months and no problem as I live in Southern,NJ. Great phone range and strength. Ordered a 12 month plan for 15 Gigs a month for 20 bucks a month. No physical stores, but great customer service, and SIM cards with removal/installer tool are gotten in two day mail. They were very patient getting me off my Cricket Wireless which had installed a six number PIN without telling me. Now, for new Users, Mint gives you unlimited for 15 bucks a month. You can’t beat that ever. Fyi, I have a iPhone XR 2018, but will go to Apple for a new phone, never a refurb-too many problems with that type of phone. As Antennae Hombre said, you need to order a 12 month plan to lock in a low rate. Do it. Their rates and services are the best. Mint is eating Verizon’s and AT&T’s lunch.

T-Mobile bought Verizon so depending on your phone's capabilities it should now have access to Verizon's towers. Verizon was not a GSM network T-Mobile phones from before the merger are less likely to be physically able to access the radio bands Verizon towers use. If you get a new phone you will probably find you get better reception now.

Been a Mint user for over 5 years now (during May they sent me a 5 Year Anniversary Email). Anyway I pay the yearly rate ($180 a year plus tax/fees). To be frank It's been the cheapest no hassle phone provider I've dealt with this includes Ultra, Cricket, Virgin, Alltel/Verizon (remember Alltel?), & T-Mobile prepaid amongst others. Service in my area is good though my phone (a Ulefone Armor X5) is missing one band that T-Mobile uses, and of course that is the one that is used most in the rural areas of Arkansas (go fig). Well I am upgrading my phone soon anyway to one that has all the bands (at least in the 4G network). As for internet service I mostly use WiFi rather than the cell phone service so the 5GB high speed a month is not a issue for me. I also like just paying the phone bill once a year anyway. Mint has been the longest provider that I've stuck with. As long as they can keep the cheap rate & no hassle service I'll stick with them.

I had T Mobile, and switched to Mint after trying Tello, which also uses the T Mobile network. The experience with Mint has been much better than Tello and no different from T Mobile. I don't use much data, so $15/mo for 5 GB is more than I can use and the best deal going even when you add taxes and the 911 fee. I'm glad to hear that you didn't experience unusual network slowdown in crowded places.

Is it worth the switch from Boost Infinite? $25 a month price locked forever, versus Mint Mobile $15 a month unlimited for first 3 months then $30 a month after, not sure about price lock. Only difference being Boost Infinite is postpaid and Mint Mobile is prepaid, and of course Mint is owned by T-Mobile and Boost is owned by DISH however long DISH Wireless stays around (I assume if DISH goes bankrupt another carrier will buy Boost for the name recognition and the millions of subscribers, probably AT&T or T-Mobile since it runs on there networks)

I've been on T-Mobile prepaid for a few years and get good speeds in my area of Southern California. I have their $15/mo plan - Mint Mobile gets more data per month at that price, but I can get the T-Mobile prepaid cards at a discount thru Target online and no fees/tax, so its cheaper for me than Mint. But if I needed more data per month, Mint would be a better deal.

Im currently testing the unlimited plan on an old s9 Verizon phone without any issues. Considering switching all together to mint. The service had worked well. I'm a trucker and drive into rural ohio every night. Hoping to port my Verizon number and phone when I do.

As soon as I heard "this video is partnered with Mint Mobile" I wrote this comment and left. How can a sponsored video be unbiased 🤔🤔🤔🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🙄🙄
@AntennaMan
@AntennaMan 11 месяцев назад
Great question. I actually planned on making this video on my own without Mint Mobile's support. It was only after I told them I was planning on making it that they offered to sponsor it (for basically peanuts). I am more loyal to my viewers than any advertiser, so rest assured everything I say in the video is honest unlike your average politician. Mint Mobile's service is great. If you chose not to believe what I say just because the video is sponsored (when I would've made it anyway without a sponsorship) that's your loss.

You lose some things like Mexico & Canada data and other bells and whistles that might not be relevant for you. You also are deprioritized over 'full' t-mobile customers on busy towers. Though I haven't ever seen tests to show that in action.

I would love to switch to Mint Mobile...but there are soooo many online reviews about how absolutely horrible their Customer Service is, frankly I'm afraid to change. I can't afford to be without phone or data service for days at a time waiting for CS to answer or return a call that never comes from offshore staff that are unintelligible. If you haven't had to deal with CS, you probably can't address this point. But if you have, we would love to hear your opinion.

Used to be a huge T-Mobile fan, from even before T-Mobile existed in the US. I had service on a regional carrier T-Mobile gobbled up to enter the US market. Worked very well. Unfortunately it does not work well where I currently live or work. Too many users, not nearly enough towers. Sprint was the same way here and the merger of two overcrowded networks did nothing to help in the local area.

Mint Mobile is actually pretty good but the T-Mobile network is not ideal. In Michigan, if you go past Lansing, you get no service. Boost Mobile the same if you get a T-Mobile Sim (which is the most likely outcome). I have had multiple lines with Mint over the years and have enjoyed my interactions with them (and the Ryan Renyolds aspect is really cool). In a nutshell, if you are okay with T-Mobile, this is a decent choice.

Do they have any deals on phones for switching?
@curtisbme
@curtisbme 10 месяцев назад
MVNO's generally don't do that in the same way. They might do some things like financing/spreading the cost out over the time like Mint mobile does and giving you some months for free. But they are usually going to reflect the full retail price of the phone, even if it is on sale elsewhere. Main carrier plans often do because they are making so much profit on their plans that you usually end up spending a lot more by the end of the contract than you would if you had bought the phone full price and done the cheaper mvno deal. Usually better overall price to buy the phone on sale (or used) and use a mvno.

@AntennaMan

You would benefit in some ways. You'd have the same service for much less but hotspot data is limited to 5GB per line. If you don't use much hotspot, it might be worth it. Otherwise, stick with your plan.
