On 13th September 2017 we welcomed Mintom the mandrill to Mefou Sanctuary after being confiscated from wildlife traffickers. He had been purchased from a local man for 2,000 cfa (around $4 USD) and was to be sold in the capital for nearly 200 times that price. The traffickers had kept him zipped inside a backpack and it was filled with urine and excrement. He arrived soaking wet, from sitting in his own waste. As soon as he receives a clean bill of health, Mintom will be introduced to your young Mandrill group.
