Congratulations!!! Specially to the singer and flautist!!! As a Pat Metheny fan for more than 30 years I am glad to hear such a good performance of his music. Please continue with your good work !!!
For those who don’t know, PMG music is very complex and difficult to play, which is why you don’t hear any copycats out here playing his music. So hats off to these cats, as they did a pretty good job taking this on!
Great tone and note......pats influence universally understood....a whole new generation.....and as some at 72.........from pat's solo with JONI.....to America undefined......this peerless GENIUS simply on another level
They did a fantastic job! Pat Metheny's music is not easy to play The Vocalist and Flautist are just awesome! They all are Awesome - Guitarist, Drummer, Bass and of course Piano!!!!! ......Well done! What an unexpected treat!!!
I'm blown away by all the talent possessed by these young men and women. Close your eyes and sounds like PMG's playing! Each student is profound in their own niche. Everyone's tones are spot on. Got chills from the vocalist at 5 minutes in and her scatting was enjoyable in the 1st & 3rd songs. They all use their instruments with such perfection, clarity and dedication towards each piece. Fun to watch them, their enthusiasm and a super treat for the ears and soul. I'm researching them for other recordings and keeping this for my playlist ❤❤❤
Nice stuff! Pat was here in Toronto a few years ago at Humber College and the students did a recital of his music for him one night. His music is very challenging. Always tells a story and very well written. You definitely do remarkably with his compositions here.
Probably the best PM music execution out of the PMG. Congratulations young talents, and thank you for so much joy listening to you and for the super hommage.
Great arrengment and performance for the 4 tunes of Pat Metheny...!! It sounds very nice; it's a professional job... I liked so much !! Congratulations to all of you...!!
Congratulations to those cover versions , exactly well done ! Perhaps the serious attitude and the impression of not being very touched by the groove of the music, except singer and flautist (!) , may be a price for concentration on transcriptions and not to make faults. For the art of copy a piece of music like that this is really remarkable and really well done !
This is so awesome. You all did so great. It makes me happy when young people are playing real music. So difficult to cover Pat. I'm in a band too but we only play simple rock n roll 😂.
All the social media outlets are fine and one thing for saturating online stuff but having been a former Jazz Buyer foe Tower Records and a Drummer/Percussionist, there’ll never be anything remotely close to the real deal legendary artists to witness LIVE, to reminisce to, identify with as to the avid fans of theirs and artists who are from their era who relate in the atmospheres ever found where performances are seen as offered within purity in the truest sense, and immediately place one another on the same wavelength as old timers and or “old souls” alike who are on the same page foe what liner notes of vinyl and C.D.’s the way that aspect alone used to have us practically “traveling” through time, on a higher plane while listening to said standout artists like Metheny. Realizing ourselves that the artists themselves intuitively sense the connection to all who follow them solely will again meet up to listen to them exclusively once leaving this planet!!!
A great job all and special thumbs up to the singer. Keep scatting. Too manger singers call themselves jazz singers and can't improvise worth a lick. Keep it up and i am so glad to see young musicians using these fantastic tunes.
The opening piece is called Minuano AND the singer does it really well. Even Pat Metheny himself has not performed the vocal intro with his band for many years - an artistic faux pas from Metheny; regardless of what he says about getting the right singers. Oh, and well done the band also.!
