I fly out of DFW and I’m always way early for my flight. The minute suites are really great. I like the courtesy knock, that way I can rest without worrying about missing my flight. Thank you so much for mentioning them in a previous video.
Oh my! That sounds like a piece of heaven in the airport. When we fly to the Caribbean we usually have a long layover in Charlotte....I will certainly look them up next time!
I'm so glad you did this review because I've never stayed in a suite and wondered what they were like. I'm planning to travel with family this year, but also solo, hopefully. My son and I sure could have used one of these suites when we had to unexpectedly spend the night on very uncomfortable gate area seats. More of these suites need to be at all the major airports.
I used a Minute Suite in Dallas a couple of years ago. It was perfect for napping after flying all night and day (Alaska to Dallas), so I was exhausted. I had 4 hours to kill till my sister arrived. Allowed me to nap and freshen up before our final flight and drive afterwards. Will do it again, if they are in any airport I go through.
Love your channel. Retired F/A and out of the loop. My husband has a disability and we don’t travel often and non-rev travel is not going to happen very often. (Tourette’s). If my husband gets tired, or over stimulated, no amount of medication can stop an episode. Thanks for all your tips!
Thank you Laurie!!! I'm so glad I saw this video!!! We are going to have a 4 hour layover in CLT Airport and this will come very handy for sure! I was thinking of doing the Admiral Lounge but they are kind of high so this is sure more affordable. :)))
I had to be dropped off early at the Albuquerque airport yesterday and was there for seven hours, partially due to a flight delay. Boy, I sure do wish there had been a Minute Suite there. Thanks for the review, Laurie!
WOW, I just saw your latest post (hope you are feeling better). We go through DFW a lot and never noticed Minute Suites (wife of a retired DFW pilot). We're going to pre-check them out on the app next time.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Yeah, and it won't clear up until Thursday, then the temperature won't melt the ice until Sunday/Monday! Our house/dog sitter was supposed to drive back to Arlington tomorrow (we live in Albuquerque) but we want her to stay put til at least Saturday (she drives ABQ to Amarillo then the next day to Arlington). Houston missed this one!
I saw these in clt but I forgot this video but I saved this for next time, I suffer 3.5 lay over when this would have been a gem to know. Now I am prepared
Dear Laurie, Thank you so much for this information! I learn so much from you to help take the stress out of business traveling. Warm regards to you and your family from Foster City, California. 😊
Either them specifically or equivalent I will seriously consider for my next trip. My flight landed at Heathrow at 6AM local time, which was around midnight back in Chicago. I made a reasonable effort to sleep during the flight. I was able to hold myself together until around 3PM, when I had to work harder to stay alert. A two hour nap upon arrival would have helped.
In-airport rooms are comparatively common in a number of major airports outside of the US. Prices vary but I’ve never found one that doesn’t have its own bathroom - for free - and every one I’ve used has a couple of complimentary bottles of water. I’d also say that these Minute Suite prices are quite expensive compared to other rooms (outside the US) - except Dubai, which is about $300 or so for 6 hours Well worth it for work trips as it helps you arrive refreshed - certainly cheaper to use an in-airport room and fly economy than pay for a business class ticket!
Thanks for the information. It’s seriously shocking they don’t have these sites at HOU, LAX, ORD, LGA or JFK. I’ve spent so much layover time at these airport. International travelers, especially, would appreciate a respite from airport madness.
They are trying but with red tape, it takes years! The JFK or LGA is about ready if not already. Houston is in the works hopefully. Keep checking their website under locations.
Sure wish they would have had those when we had long layovers going back and forth to Germany. USO was nice but a private place would have been nice when the boys were babies. I will definitely get one now because of my condition. They look great! I have the neck pillow you suggested from Amazon. Since Sleep only slightly reclined that pillow saves my neck.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie They would be amazing! When we moved to Germany we had to leave Omaha at 6am, changed planes in Chicago then had to sit in Philadelphia all day waiting to catch the military contract flight. USO will always hold a special place in my heart. The little nap I got helped me get to Germany. They are amazing!
Thanks for the tip, and thanks for the code! I do have a question, what brand of compression cubes do you recommend. (Please recommend something cheaper in price.) ✨🤍 I will be traveling with family this year!!
Great info to know!! Will be on the lookout for these next time I fly. Do you have road trip tips? I will be making at least 1 this summer, possibly more. And hopefully flying to CA later this summer!! Really looking forward to that.
I don't...because hubby thinks we can get there faster by flying lol. I love them though. I pack like a hoarder on road trips and bags of snacks/trash are everywhere.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I wish there was a laughing option with the thumbs up or down. My hubs prefers to fly too but I love driving. 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve learned to take along plastic bags for trash as we go. When we stop for gas, out goes the bag of trash. Then we start all over again. I’m with you on the snacks everywhere. We all have our favorites and I buy them ALL. 😂😂😂
It's a great idea... but at $12 per 15 minutes, I'd do better to rent a hotel room for my 8 hour layovers! It really is a great idea, though. I usually travel alone; sometimes with my chihuahua, Sweetea. 🥰
Hi Laurie as someone who has found your videos for just RU-vids random algorithm I do love your insight on all things travel. As someone who has never done a layover from London to Charlotte Douglas. What are your recommendations for my luggage on my layover? I'm sure American have said they will get my luggage to my connecting plane but as they have said I may not need to check in my luggage again. What are your recommendations for international fans for this? Happy Thanksgiving for next week and sage travels
YES! And don't you know the staff know the best places to go. Some airports have grubhub if you can believe that! Thank you for watching; I appreciate your support.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie thank you! I’m not flying again until October, but your videos are already helping. I actually got some compression packing cubes.
Have a late flight in lihue this month but need to check out of condo by 11 trying to figure out what to do gonna check if they have private suites so thanks...none in lihue so sad lolol
Hi Laurie do you have a new promo code for Minute Suite and what suite do you recommend with a shower? Can 3 person travelling with you stay in the same room
Hi I do not have a code anymore. When you book, you will see what that room includes. They name them based on location. Loved them! You may see if your credit card gives you a discount.
All the ones listed are international. But yes, it's such an awesome thing for international flights. But you know the red tape to get that much space in an airport...we can hope!
hey, you are at DFW, right? my wife, son (9month), and i arrive at 11pm at terminal E and look for a place to sleep. now we wonder which is better. getting a hotel room (max. 10minutes away) or renting a minute suit, with some open questions: -can we go from terminal E (our final destination) to terminal D through security without having another ticket for D? -is it comfortable enough for a small family? -is it quicker to just get inside a taxi and drive to the hyatt in 10 minutes or to walk from terminal E to terminal D through security (if possible)? thank you 😊 what would you recommend? :)
This one is great b/c of the light interior and storage. It can be filled so much that it is heavy. But it easily fits under the 50 seater airplane seats too. bit.ly/PersonalLightInterior
Are those prices typical? Yikes! $45/hour + $8.75 or $11.25 for each 15 minutes increment after, $30 for a shower? Best to just suffer through an hour or two. If you've six or more, it's hotel time!
Ooh I think one or both of them were roll in showers. I have the link so you could call that location and ask. Not all have showers, but the toilet room would be accessible in all of them. Thanks for watching!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thanks! I am starting to build a site on accessible rooms. Because there are no specific websites where you can just see the place. Sometimes I want to just see the bathroom, or the shower, before booking. I want no issues upon check-in. Yet we experience issues at most locations - mostly because people do not understand the needs of the disabled in general .
@@jfitzpa503 I'm sure! I would call that specific location to ask their opinion. I would also see if you could be upgraded to a larger suite like the mid-sized suite so your chair also has space to move around if a family member or friend is using the pull-out daybed. Having a specific section on their site for wheelchair accessibility would be helpful.
