Miquella, The Unalloyed Lore | The most fearsome Empyrean | Elden Ring 

"What horrors could the most fearsome of the Empyreans do?" I don't know , maybe summon a Godskin trio that sound pretty horrible.

I swear I clicked on this because I thought the title was "Miquella, the Unemployed" and I thought that was such a cool concept. A lucky accident as I really enjoyed the video. Glad Miquella got back on his feet.

I like how Malenia has Radagon's red hair, and Miquella has Marika's blonde hair.

Miquella is fearsome because of his ability to charm anyone. Mohg kidnapped Miquella but look what happened to Mohg. He too became infatuated with Miquella and wanted to raise Miquella to godhood with himself as a consort.

Halig is proto Germanic for healing, so Miquella created the healing tree all to heal his sister. Great story

Miquella is like Sephiroth in OG FF7; you just hear about him, you know he’s badass, but you don’t see him at all until like disc 2.

Miquella is definitely one of the more mysterious demigods because of his absence in the game. If there were to be a DLC for Elden Ring that involved him I wonder if we would face him as a God. And if so, would it lead to us challenging beings like the Greater Will? It could also take a different approach with the player and Miquella, being the wise person he most likely is, team up to fight the Greater Will to produce a new ending like the age of stars.

i kinda wish there was an option to not fight Malenia but instead tell her where her brother is.

I like how Miquella looked for a cure for the rot with his own power and the power of the order and failed. When a cure for the rot exsists in the giants flame (which it's self is a play on japanese alchemy where the element of fire burns out the element of rot) as O' flame cleanse me cures it but as the gaints where enemies he never looked there

He better be DLC! I found myself obsessed with him! He has such a presence in the game but is absent for all of it. he’s such a mystery! I want to know all I can about him and I HOPE he’s DLC

I feel like his ability to charm isn’t a literal power of his but just due to his extremely kind and awe-inspiring nature

If there is going to be a DLC I want it to focus around either Miquella, or the Outer Gods.

If we do face Miquella in a DLC I hope that his position and dialogue towards us change based on our game endings

Imagine my surprise when I found out Morgott and Mohgwynn are twins. I found Morgott to be cool and badass, where as Mohg straight up just gave me the creeps Edit : Mohg, not Mohgwyn. My bad

Can we all just take a moment to acknowledge how creepy what mohg is doing to this guy is

So, I noticed the “egg” that Miquella is in, sits inside giant skeletal hips. Just interesting. Probably represents being “birthed”

The fact that his caccoon is the uterus abouve the hip bones of the female body of the tree... Heavy stuff...

Miquella's goal with the Haligtree was most likely to be what the Erdtree would not. The Erdtree is a fossilized relic that, although effectively immortal, cannot bestow any blessing or benefit as it could during its youth. Its roots strangle the earth to keep itself alive indefinitely, much like Marika's rule over the Lands Between, where most people have devolved into mindless husks. Miquella probably wanted to mix his own youthful vitality with Malenia's powers of rot to create a symbol of worship that could actually benefit its followers. Despite what it may seem to us players, after seeing its scarlet variant and Caelid, rot is an essential part of life, as it allows the old to fade away and nurture the young, the complete opposite of the Erdtree and the Golden Order as they cling to immortality and stop the cycle of history.

I imagine that for the DLC you'll enter Miquella's dream world, since hes St. Trina, associated with sleep. And maybe in the dreams, you can fight the manifestations of outer gods. The Omens suffer from nightmares of the primordial, after all.

Miquella scares the fuck out of me. He's got seemingly pure intentions born out of spite. He's created gear that has the power to repel the influence of one or two Outer Gods with the power of an Outer God, was going to imitate and probably surpass the Erdtree and oust the Greater Will back to the Void. He appears to be an S-Tier manipulator but wasn't able to protect himself from the consequences of his own influence: Mohg the baby daddy. Or the daddy baby, idk. I love that this is a thing. Best piece of lore right here. He'd be a 3-phase boss, arm-in-the-cocoon, Curse-rotted Greatwood style, amisshapen, slimy, bloody, crawling phase-2-Lawrence style fight, with Miquella dealing blood damage and being feeble and FromSoftwarely horrific, and a final, god-like phase where he finds his radiance but because it's Miyazaki, half of his body will be missing, replaced by gore and rays of golden light. He'll switch to holy magic and smile at you like Sephiroth. I CAN'T WAIT.

I hope they make a dlc about the old times,showing some characters like Godwyn and Miquella,or more about Melina's past

Ya know morgott turned out to be a kinda decent dude, doing what he thinks is right and committed to a sense of honor and responsibility and mohgwynn ended up being a total freak weirdo that’s like “oh the loli yeah that’s what I want

Your little tease at the end about a potential DLC gave me goosebumps. This was great.

Miquella is definitely a DLC hint, like once you get an ending, you are told that miquella has awoken and you need to go hunt him down, different bosses might apear depending on what ending you chose, like a black knife assassin for age of stars, a champion of melenia for lord of frenzy and so on.

Despite how the lore portrays him, Miquella seems like the shadiest of the bunch and you just know he's going to wind up being the most screwed up if they make DLC for him.

Fun fact about Malenia: we actually know all 3 times the Scarlet Aeonia bloomed. We see the first in the cinematic where she fights Radahn, we pass the second in a room at Elphael just before her arena, and as you probably know, the third happens after her first boss phase... And we fight her as a true goddess.

Such a fascinating character, I'm seriously manifesting Miquella in DLC! Thank you for such an insightful lore video, really appreciate how informative it was!

An idea: miquella might have charmed mogh to try and use his power of blood to cure the scarlet rot. He might have underestimated how much mogh would be infatuated with him

I feel like Miquella will be the focus of the DLC if we're getting any. One that will be started after we beat Mohg, and then Miquella's body/cocoon will be interactable thereafter.

Alright, I HAVE to say this. While looking through items descriptions and whatnot trying to find lore I started to see what unalloyed gold is. It's extremely vague on how exactly it's made or what it does in its entirety, all we know is it can ward off outer gods and slow Melania's scarlet rot and pretty much halt it in others. Unalloyed means no other alloy is mixed with the metal so this is pure gold. However in real life we have pure gold 24-karat gold, BUT only 99.99% pure due to oxidation I believe. But since Miquella is of godly origins and is the most wise empyrean that means this boy made 100% pure gold. If we're going to go off of mythological significance, seems like salt silver and iron can be used to ward off evil entities. Gold in most mythologies is used to represent the Divine sphere something we humans can use to build connections to our deities. Unalloyed gold is something Divine yet worldly. This means it should, in theory, be able to ward against divine afflictions (scarlot rot is heavily implied to be such) AND ward off outer gods which would have little understanding of worldly concepts. Or I could be completely wrong and am looking WAY to into this. Could just be as simple as enchanted gold, but if something like the golden order and fundamentalist incantations can't help Melania or rid you of the frenzy flame then I doubt it's simply enchanted.

I'm so glad you did a video on Miquella, he was the only one I was confused about and didn't hear much about, especially when I found his cocoon after defeating Mogh, you got a new sub right here, that's for sure. On a side note, DAMN I LOVE ELDEN RING, the gameplay, the graphics, the style, the lore, it's all awesome.

Didn't realize until now how butterfly like Miquella looks at 0:20. It looks like he has tiny wings sprouting from his back.

We haven't had a boss that spams sleep ad nauseum yet, so it's not too hard to imagine miquella/St Trina being that boss in dlc, being miquella in the first phase and being St Trina in thr second as the big reveal.

I don't want Miquella to be a bad guy, I think he should be like Ranni and sort of a counterpart to Goldmask. He seems obsessed with removing the influence of outer gods.

Two things. I predict Miquella to be a Dlc boss that resembles Femto in Berserk and that his cocoon is in some way a space or dimension where his curse doesnt exist so he can grow to godhood and become a full Empiryam. I have the theory that Miquella's and Millenia's curse is the same curse created by Merika.A curse of infertility.Miquela's developed into an eternal childhood and Millenia into a rot that made her unable to bear children.She made it in an atempt to stop the greater will from finding a substitute for her as ruler of the lands.

Yasss, lore videos, I've been waiting so long

When it comes to DLC, I kind of wonder if we might see some kind of other dimension considering we have all these animals and trees being translucent all over the place. There has to be some kind of reason for that and I am reminded of the many Berserk references in the game. Those who've read it will understand what I'm talking about.

I really hope that if there is ever going to be a DLC for Elden Ring, they should explore more of this...Empyrean lore. And we know practically nothing about the Outer Gods as well. Or the stars, which are apparently living things, like Astel. So much story that they could expand upon.

I hope in the DLC we get a save Malenia ending by teaming up with Miquella to create his needle instead of using Malenias final Aeonia. I don't care to fight Miquella so long as he is uncorrupted he seems to be very reasonable possibly even a noble figure and I think each of the Empyrians should have an ending tied to them so it would be cool to with their help free the lands between from the influence of outer gods.

This one was always having me ponder in thought, honestly was inspecting sooner of bleeding spider god boss.

I have a feeling the DLC will be focused on Miquella and St. Trina. Just don't know if it'll be implemented after beating the game or implemented during a playthrough.

I Imagine that we'll be getting a time travel dlc like ds1 where we face the demigods in their prime and a bloodborne-like dlc where we face Miquella and Melina and the Outer Gods alongside trick weapons making a return.

He seems like he'd be super nice and gentle but I'm sure FromSoft will find a way to make him super disturbing and mean if they decide to make him a boss in the future. Though, if we dive into his dream (like we do with Fia to fight the lichdragon) it's possible that we'll fight the manifestation of some nightmare he's having instead.

If he does come back, I would much prefer that he would instead be more inclined to deal with the Tarnished Elden Lord peaceably. Out of all the demigods, I'd say Miquella would be the one least inclined to use violence.

Great video! One small nitpick though. I don't think being an empyrean means being born from one God, as Ranni was born from Rennala and Radagon. It's more likely that Empyreans are demigods that are aided by an Outer God (Ranni and the Dark Moon God, Malenia and the Goddess of Scarlet Rot, Miquella and the Formless Mother).

Great lore video love this kinda stuff hope we get a dlc that follows on with him awakening from his slumber and declaring war on the elden lord

Feels like Miquella could be the focus of a strong DLC. Focusing on his reactions to the world, his lore paints him to be the most kind or caring of the gods in a lot of ways, especially in the creation of the Haligtree and the related city. Of course though maybe there are already ways to wake him that haven’t been found. The game is massive, and so much is still unknown, but I’d be surprised if this is the case, as dataminers haven’t reported anything that could point to that. Slightly more likely outside of a dlc is that Miquella’s content is yet to be added to the base game, similar to the questlines and quest changes that have been added post release. There could easily be some NPC somewhere that could extend a questline into this based on certain conditions. That said, I’d also be happy if we never see Miquella in action, leaving the story a little open ended like that really aids in worldbuilding imo. Perhaps there is dialog or lore somewhere in the game that completes his story, but until then I’ll keep checking your channel to learn more abt this awesome world. Thanks for the awesome vid!

I do hope we get more Miquella related content in dlc's. He's probably the one demigod in this game who i really want more from. Like we have basically the full story for everyone else but Miquella's story seems a bit unfinished

Personally I think Miquella's kidnapping by Mohg was what spurred Malenia on to take an army through the lands between, eventually ending up in Caelid as below Caelid is Mohg's palace. The alternative would be that Malenia like other demigods was trying to grab power, but since she fought godrick after he insulted her and send him fleeing I personally don't believe she was interested in the shards of the other demigods. Malenia only meeting her match because Radahn didn't appriciate her carrying an army and the scarlet rot to his land and failing to delve below the Caelid to the lord of blood.

I hope we get more on him in some type of dlc and I hope we don’t kill him tbh
