Those lyrics kill me every time: "But of all God's miracles large and small, the most miraculous one of all is the one I thought could never be: God has given you to me." Now that's true love.
the fact that you've seen shit before but will never see your god. > to advance this argument immediately to solution I ask you refer to "Zeitgeist" (Netflix or youtube) and part one will answer all your "god" questions. also notice how I do not capitalize the "G" in god.
his self-esteem must have been pretty low based on what he sings: listen to the lyrics, not only is he excited, it sounds like he literally DIDN’T think it was ever gonna happen. I’m so happy for this fictional character:)
This is probably the most beautiful part of the movie. Two young people who don't have much and don't want anything more than to be able to be with each other having their wish fulfilled. It's so lovely seeing them celebrate so much for something so little. I honestly see true love and true happiness in this clip.
StopThatWeeb It's actually huge considering who she was supposed to marry and the luck of marrying for love to someone her own age, it was big deal then, like winning the lottery big
I adore this version. He's just bursting with happiness, and it radiates through every line of the song, only slowing down on the final lines. It's a glowing, loving, real song, one of my favorites.
My heart melts for Motel and Tzitel I’m glad they’re so happy together. I don’t think Lazar would’ve loved her the way Motel does. Motel truly loves her.
I'm Motel in my high school's production of this, and I am having tons of fun with it! I'm having a little trouble with the singing because I'm a bass and I'm trying to sing as a tenor. However the dancing (if you can call it that) is so much fun! Let's just say that I will be "frolicking like a real man." ;)
a very spiritual and meaningful song. a man in love declares that the woman God is giving him is a gift that will make him a man...his manhood is secure in the love of his woman.......oh that the world may go back to basics!!!!
I thought he meant he stood up to Teveye for the hand of his beloved and that made him a man, Teveye said it too, "ohh finally it talks like a man". He says this after the song 'They gave each other a pledge"
One of my favorite songs of all time--takes me right back to being a kid, and right up to being in love. Fiddler on the Roof meant so much to me, as a missionary kid--it was one of those films my mother and I could share, in a way we never shared anything else. We loved Oklahoma and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and all the others, but the spiritual essence--and the comedy--behind Fiddler brought our whole family together. I'll never forget it. Thanks for sharing it with us here. With love, Namaste, Pam
It is so precious! I love this song-- it's about love and thankfulness and the excitement of an unexpected answer to prayer-- it is a really beautiful representation of the Jewish culture :)
This song is my favourite and when he sings "but of all Gods miracles large and small the most miraculous one of all is the one i thought could never be-God has given you to me" that bit always makes me cry.
+Jordan Bahr Ayy i just got cast as Motel for the spring musical :D Its the first time that I'll ever have an entire song to myself basically. In the past, I've had one line solos, but now I finally get an entire song :DDD im so excited that my new director thinks so highly of me
This song makes me giddy, it is the best depiction of true love, it brings back memories of the happy 1000 butterflies feeling that as long as this person is with you then life is so wonderful no matter what, and the hyper excitement of the future like that of a childhood Christmas Morning x 1000.
i love this song, when i first saw this movie in middle school. it was my first musical and i loved it ever since. my favorite part is when he picks up the flower and moves over to her and looks in her eyes and sings to her with all of his heart. that's so beautful!
This is my favorite song! I could never get tired of it. It's so sweet. This is definitely the best version I've ever seen. It's a pity that more people don't like the movie..... Thanks a lot :)
When the camra panned up at the end of the song, I thought that some one would be sitting in the tree watching them. It could have been Tevye, Perchik, the constable or someone else, I don't know.
I love the dramatic shift upwards that the camera does at the end :D Obviously the tree is far more interesting than whatever they're doing on the ground!
@missbabyice: I don't necessarily agree, but I gave your comment a thumbs-up. So few people on RU-vid bother to nuance their opinions, especially when they don't like something. Thanks for doing so! I'm not sure Motel's endless running around is the strongest way to choreograph this scene. I mean, he NEVER stands still, until the last line, which feels a little abrupt. It is a terrific song though. The B section is a little weak, but the hook is so catchy!
Honestly I love his singing every other recordings of feels like it's someone going through the highs and lows of puberty maybe it's just me but this is my one version that I adore not that I'm driving anyone else down singing good it's still amazing
DIY Room Decor For life All went well except for the fact that my voice cracked when I was singing "If I were a Rich Man." Honestly, I don't which was the redder, my face or my head cloth I had to wear under by hat!
Everytime I hear/see this I remember how the guy who played Motel forgot the last few lines of the song during a performance of the play and we had to stand there staring and smiling awkwardly at each other in silence....
Willawenba - Yeah, it's basically like this; Half the Jewish religion dashes it out, and half of them don't. I just go half and half, at random times. Lol.
I'm studying this for a program called WSC. I was wondering if someone could please give me a explanation of the meaning behind this song? I've looked through the comments and I understand that it is about love etc. But is there a deeper meaning behind it?
Oh hey fellow scholar! Yeah I would like to get an answer for this too. Unless you've got one already, care to share? Well it has been 5 months, so I'm a little late.
BangtanNochu Its about his joy at being allowed to marry her. Before this she was supposed to marry the butcher because tevye gave her marriage agreement to lazar wolf. The tailor is happy he convinced tevye to break that contract and he is free to marry her.
He mentions all the miracles that יהוה has bestowed upon his people, Daniel in the lion’s den, the capture of Jericho etc. As a Jew, these miracles are held very dealing and shows that יהוה cares for his people and wants them to be happy bHe is liking these miracles to his engagement to Tzidel. He also mentions how יהוה created humans from dust and clay. Now because he is getting married he is truly a man. Hope this answers your question.
@@ThomasK96 In other words, I would have thought that a comment that says what you're singing on Election Night 2016 would have been posted in 2016, not 2019 (three years before I'm seeing it in 2022). Is there a RU-vid glitch that is putting the wrong time period on your post (and maybe a lot of other posts, if it's a big glitch), or am I just misunderstanding what you were saying?
Beautiful scene when love works, religion works. But then when Havilla loses her two sisters, and is alone, she doesn't get the same opportunities, she has to leave, so many people don't fit.
