I need to lower this - if E works I can just take the capo off, but if Eb, hmmm, what capo key do you suggest for playability? thanks for doing this awesome song!
Tune down ½ step and play in E. I keep my tuned down for singing reasons. That will accomplish what you want or you could capo it on the 1st fret and play the D chord.
