Look for Kraus and Freni live. Stylistically superior and more accurate pronunciation... BUT Who cares? Corelli and Freni were close friends and they enjoyed singing together, always with true passion. What the heck! These were two super stars with status of opera legends. May their souls RIP.

@@judithbereczky4114 Of course voices count, but so does the appropriate style for the chosen repertoire. Freni is more than acceptable, but Corelli sings like an Italian bull in a china shop. This is NOT verismo!
@@alanhowe1455 it's this kinda of thinking that has made classical music a historical reproduction instead of a living performance art. I feel sorry for you sir. The academics in all their arrogance have made opera and classical music an academic subject instead of it being the true international language that it is.
@@sunchong1043 Well, this is supposed to be a French-style opera sung in French. So there's nothing wrong with hoping that one might hear recognisable French and recognisable French style instead of two Italians, especially Corelli, who think they're singing Puccini in Italian. Two great voices, but not in this repertoire.
