@jonharrison9222 The Christian faith and its framework of morality is well established in history, and now, as the most solid basis for a strong society. If you don't believe it's plausible, you haven't studied the historical evidence for Christ, His death and His resurrection.

really great interview... hopefully next time you could get more time. It was great to see a politician actually seeming to speak honestly and un-guarded as they so often are on TV. Miriam came across well and seemed open to genuine discussion. Thanks for doing this.

Mostly found this interesting but I think any intelligent person should be dissatisfied with the conclusion of her ‘argument’ at about 9:15. The politics we get is a result of how we vote, and how we vote is a result of our personal moral values. We can’t simultaneously claim ‘well if they arrived on my doorstep I’d of course let them in’ and then vote for a party that proposes to keep them from arriving at one’s doorstep. It’s hypocritical and dishonest. And I was really disappointed in her answer here, because I thought her speech at the NatCon conference was actually fantastic.

Covid did something much worse than leave us with an economic hole. It devastated what remained of the social fabric of the country and categorically holed the vital social services in the country, so people have very few ideological or structural havens to run to. I have worked in support services to the Civil service for the last 14 years, and the majority of staff no longer work more than a few days a week at the majority of Government offices now - the very methods that people use to usually communicate with each other have gone on line, and when people do gather, they rarely have any appetite to publicly address the real issues of the last few years, which are so key to our present situation, but cannot honestly be addressed (just look at how well the official enquiry is doing there!). It's a truly dire state of affairs, and certainly getting worse.
