Hi, have U had a problem with flying Ure drone? Do you really have to report a flight to the local police? I'm going in 4 weeks from now, with a DJI drone, i'm going to register this drone and put some spots in the form. But i'm wondering if there can be a problem even if i do all those things?

Have you ever had stomach pain after eating uncooked food, such as fruits? I may be a bit overcautious, but in some countries it is already a problem if fruits or vegetables have been washed with tap water beforehand.

Wow, it's great to see Mirissa has so much to offer. We were there for a week in 2018, and it was too quiet. Also, one day, I believe I was close to dying due to the tide taking me back to the ocean... I was lucky I had the board, and at some point, somehow I managed to escape the tide and swim back to the shore. Nobody heard me yelling for help, I was so far away.... thank God for saving me that day.... so be careful guys with waves and tides! Enjoy!

I’ve watched more than a few vloggers in Sri Lanka and it’s absolutely beautiful there. Watching them had made me want to visit Sri Lanka for sure. I’m not sold on India because it’s hugely overpopulated, but I’m sure India has a few nice places.

Thanks man! I film with iPhone 15 pro, no gimbal :) I recommend iPhone! It's so easy with everything. I only put little bit saturation on FCP and it looks grat already. And file sizes are fine even when I film in 4k 60fps!

@@carstenmadsen3286 Its up to you, if you want just chill near the beach its ok, you can do day trip to Galle sometimes. I was there for 2 weeks but it was 5 week trip with GF. Usually I change location each 2-3 days on my trips. I really recommend you to go inside of the island. And I hope everyone understand SRI worth more than 12 days. I think optimal is 25 :)

Thank you for answering. Well im Planning to stay in colombo 4 days, in Ella 5 days and then mirissa for 8 days. This is full days those places, then there Are a couple of travel days from place to place...

@@carstenmadsen3286 stay in Colombo 0-1 days. Hot and messy. When I arrived at 04-00 I used to stay at the basic beach hotel in Negombo for 1-2 days only to reset my internal GMT time and have a rest after flight. Go Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy insteed. Stay 1-3 days Kandy, 2-3 days NE.

Welcome to Sri Lanka. You went only for the touristic places. You can find best from locals food courts and restaurants. There are many beaches that not much rush and clean. $900/m quite expensive. you can find better places with the internet up to 300mbps for just $150-$450 range.

In light of potential power outages, I'm seeking information about their frequency and duration. Are power cuts a daily occurrence? If so, how long do they typically last? I'm planning to stay in the area for a month and need to ensure I can work remotely without interruptions.

Sometimes it was 5 times a day, sometimes 1, even some days 0 times. Usualöy didn't last for long but buying a sim card with lots of data will be a solution😊

@@JooseTheNomad Really there are power outages in Sri Lanka nowadays? 5 times a day? I am not from Mirrissa. I am from Kurunagala. Don't experience any power outages these days here. not sure why power outages in Mirrissa. There was no any reason for power outages as there were about 5 months continuous rains until January (no issues with hydro power hence) and no fuel shortages these days. Really strange!

Pressure from the shower ain’t optimum! AC is too noisy! White man problems 😂 We in Burkina Faso have to walk 5km in scorching heat to fetch a bucket of water just to avoid moderate to severe dehydration 😂

Complaining is actually what makes your video valuable for other nomads. I plan to visit Bali again after the rainy season. I checked Facebook groups and it seems like it is hard to find a decent accommodation in Canggu for 10M IDR. Do you mind sharing your strategy to find a good deal?

Lol for everyone commenting that it’s expensive, if you knew the prices of rent electricity and internet here you would see that it’s actually not that expensive! Especially when you have couples that have their ac on 24/7… it’s so easy to come to SL and want cheap things when you don’t really know how much it costs to run these businesses and then Sri Lankans are barely making enough money to survive…

That would probably be because: 1. Sri Lanka is only starting to become a popular tourist destination. Places like Thailand, Bali and Vietnam have been receiving a large influx of tourists for several years which lowers the prices 2. Sri Lanka is going through an economic crisis meaning that electricity prices have doubled, imports are crazy expensive and on January 1st VAT across many products went from 5% to 18% and in some cases even from 0% to 18% 3. Sri Lanka being an island the logistics costs of getting anything here are higher than say Thailand and Vietnam. Comparing costs between Sri Lanka and the rest of SE Asia is simply not possible and blaming it on business owners who have very small margins is unfair.

⁠⁠@@JooseTheNomad I wouldn’t call Arugambay is the most popular place to surf, but it’s the best place to surf in SL. This time of the year isn’t the ideal time to go there for surfing. Arugambay’s season starts from April to September.

@@JooseTheNomad not bad for sure, Arugambay is a small beach town in dry zone of southeast Sri Lanka. It’s not that famous like the surfing beaches in south coast such as Mirissa, Weligama, Hiriketiya, Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa. But if you are interested to visit Arugambay there are 3 main surf spots to choose from, Main point, Whisky point and Peanut farm. Dear Sri Lankan Restaurent and hotel owners, please do not exploit your customers like this. Food and room prices are very high compared to the region. You will loose your customers if this situation continues. Remember they have multiple options. Do not cover your arrears from your customers. Really sad.

If you visit heigh end places and restaurants definitely prices are little heigh.but not as bad as Europe or western destinations Thailand or many other Asian destinations. 10 to 20 $ per meal isn't that expensive. Normal meal will cost more in their countries. 900$ per month for a room with AC close to beach and convenient spots are far below average. Better not write things we don't know. Problem in Sri Lanka is everything so cheap for tourists and they still looking for best for nothing. Travel to western destinations and see how expensive the food and hotel accommodation. Those are beyond many westerners reach .😂😂

@@nalin8182 You have to compare apples to apples. Bali is considered a very inexpensive destination to visit and stay. I don’t know how they keep prices low in South East Asia. There is definitely an opportunity to learn. It is also known fact that prices in SL are elevated because of their protectionist policies - it is the consumers who suffer in the end - The consumers will certainly benefit as they open the economy to more competition. It is also important to note that it should be never about being the cheapest or race to the bottom. But it is important to give good value for money.

I heard there's lots of taxes on cars in Sri Lanka - so it can be much more expensive than in Europe so taxis can be more than expected

I feel like you haven't done proper research before coming to Sri Lanka. If you follow what every other tourist does, you might end up disappointed. Also, Sri Lankan tourism is just blooming and has not yet met the standards of the Maldives or Indonesia. Sri Lanka is ideal if you want to enjoy a pure experience connected with nature. Is Sri Lanka for Digital Nomads? I don't think so.

Yeah, I feel SriLanka really needs to step up their game - and step down their prices. Been there 4 times (and 18 times in Indonesia) and it just doesn't compare. -The accommodation is more expensive but not as nice. -The (fancy) food is more expensive but not as tasty. -The waves are just as crowded but not as good. -The flights there (from Europe) are now just (or almost) as expensive as a flight to Indonesia. -Scooters are more expensive, but not as good AND no surf racks allowed (because of the TukTuk mafia!!!) So, WTF SriLanka?

Bro, stop going to sri lanka, visit burkino faso, accommodations are almost free, there’s hardly any foo so u won’t be paying much, no waves ie no crowd, there ain’t no registration stuff thus u can easily steal a moto or just keep going to Bali😂 better yet, buy a house and live there.

As a Sri Lankan i always think our prices are too low for accommodation and food . Compare to the services, beauty also the nature and facilities Sri Lanka offer. Any other destination with all this attraction s will cost travellers definitely few times more. So stop complaining and enjoy your stay. You cant compare two different destinations or countries. Each has its ups and downs. Definitely Sri Lanka isn't a destination for hippies. That era ended with binging of 1980s . Hace a wonderful journey Much love ❤

@@JooseTheNomad as a local i don't get why tourist come here and pay 750% higher price for tickets to hike rocks and watch old temples and buildings, it's funny. 😂 If I was a tourist, the only reason i would come here for the beaches in the right season. There are better countries with better - beaches, food, culture, history, people, hiking trails, affordability, whether, safety, etc................... unless its your job, visiting a family or bucketlist.
