2 Things. First a message to all the 12y olds that think close range Goals are easy: ask Gonzalo Higuain if that's true. ;) Then Löw always prefered Klose because he does not only stand in the box waiting for crosses, instead Klose has a high work rate on the pitch, he does a lot of defensive work, creates spaces for his teammates and he also assists shitloads of Goals . second Thing: there can be books written about his career, because it was as odd as it was inspirational. Klose never played for any national youth Team. In 2000 Otto Rehagel (former Greece-coach) discovered him somewhere in the fourth league. He gave him a Chance and Klose payed it back with crucial Goals. One year later he was called up in the national Team, age 23. In his first years he wasn't taken seriously by many german fans and was even rediculed as nothing but a Flash in the pan, although he basically saved the german team's WC-qualification and scored 12 Goals in 2002 alone. But after 2002 he lost his form and needed 2 years to recover. In the following 3 years at Werder Bremen he reached the Peak of his form, scoring 54 and assisting 36 Goals in just 89 games. He then moved to Bayern, where he had to suffer under Luca Toni. Toni was quite a lazy, stale striker that just stood around waiting for crosses. Klose had to do all the dirty work for him, resulting in a relatively low Goal tally. He again was criticized as being "not egoistical enough" for a striker. After Bayern bought Mario Gomez and changed their System into a 4-2-3-1, Klose had to sit on the bench for two years. Löw was criticized a lot for still calling him up and prefering him over other strikers, that had a way higher Goal Count. But anytime Klose played for Germany, he flourished again. After 4 years at Bayern, his career seemed over. He then moved to Lazio and blossomed out again. He was always know for being injury prone, but he kept coming back. Now he is 36, he broke the record of most Goals for Germany, most world Cup Goals, he is world Champion and still seems fit enough to play for 2 more years. The Story of Klose is not one of a super-Talent that reached anything that was expected by him. It's the Story of someone who came out of nowhere and, despite being rediculed and suffering numerous setbacks, beat the Odds and worked his way ontop of the world - with nothing but discipline and constant hard work. That is truely inspirational. Nobody deserved the world Cup more than him.
Hans Schweinsteiger don't forget his team. some of the passes he received were so awesome they could've come from jason kidd or larry bird :) so awesome, even we could have finished _some_ of them :) in a few hours argentina will 'hate' madonna's song even more.
You're kinda underselling Schürrle here. 16 goals in 39 games isn't too shabby, especially when you consider that he usually doesn't play right off the bat
love how people forget he even exists on the pitch and all of a sudden he just jumps in and rolls it home who needs to be technically gifted or physically imposing if you have the best timing to score ever lol
This man is the worldcup top scorer, this is actually victory for football, he's very humble, honest beyond believe, a down to earth person and a natural predator in front of goal, its because of players like him football is the world most followed sport.
Goals 9 to 14 I officially became a fan of Germany at 17 years old, just because of him and Oliver Kahn. I'll admit, my first World Cup was 1994 with Brazil thanks to Romario.....but I didn't want to stick with one team as I got older and the Germans were my pick from 2002 until now.
@@Themortgageguy530 you don't even know how good soccer stars were back then at times of Klose. Klose had to play against legends like Ronaldinho, Zidane, Beckham, and so on.
Fun fact: Klose would have more goals had Germany not hosted the cup in 06 as they played no qualification. Edited. Scratch that it would appear Germany therefor played more friendly matches, which also count towards the overall score.
Scoring is adding to the standard measurement of games: GOALS. Scoring is what wins games. You have to be able to afford a player who does nothing but scoring. Which teams in the world can afford that nowadays? Germany could, so he scored 71 goals which is certainly an awesome feat! The WC record is no joke. It's about SCORING, not about anything else. If anybody thinks that Klose doesn't deserve it, then change the rules about the best scorer. I'm pretty curious about whatever else than SCORING might count. Edit: Typo
Always training to be in peak physical form, always knew where the ball and his mates would be. He's living proof that brains, hard work and passion will take you further than talent.
*100% right..cant agree more mate* he is the living proof that football is a team sport and that versatility (heading skills, killer instinct in front of the goal combined with assists and game oversight) is the prototype of the modern striker in a team playing based "mannschaft"
The man was a 37-year-old striker when he broke Ronaldo's world cup goal record (in his presence, during Germany's legendary 7:1 win against Brazil in Belo Horizonte). And we're looking at a guy who has never seen a sports boarding school or a college scholarship or a high performance training center. was a carpenter when that coach of Greek origin (name?) recruited him directly from the fourth league. He repaid that trust despite all the criticism to serve the national team for 13 years and break every record coming his way. ... Can we take a moment!? 🙊
great upload. well put together. 71 goals. 20 headers i counted. 0 pens. 0 free kicks. i didn't count how many were outside the box, but i'm guessing very few. i seem to remember people saying all of his world cup goals were inside the box, with many even inside the 6 yd box. not the most skilful but you've got to respect his poachers instinct.
i know, i know. im late on replying... but what the hell do you think is the job of a forward in football? staying in your own half and playing defence? if your job is to be a goal scorer, then by all means tap it in
(Tor fällt) Und da iiist eessssssss....miroslav klose." "MARIO GOMEZ BENAGLIO (Tor fällt) KANN ZU KURZ NUR ABWEHREN UND...Deutschland führt...in der 23. Minutöööö" WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUCK
