The thing you said about having a community of like minded people hits hard, for a few leagues now I've realised this world is the one I get the most enjoyment out of, and finding a community of likeminded individuals to enjoy that with has been very difficult to find for me and if I found it my motivation levels would be 📈📈 great content Belton the fact that even though you know there is no monetary benefit to you making videos that are hours long and yet you still do it out of passion makes you one of the goats of POE in my mind at least, keep the vids coming!
Yeah I haven't found a community on this game that doesn't eventually drive me crazy. Global 911 was cool for a bit but now there's people in there that drive me fkn crazy.
Yo you got me hyped up with your mirror a day series. I first got into profit crafting in harvest when path of mathh revealed the power of veiled c to the masses. I tried the amulet crafting method you showed, but I realized quickly that because of the increasing popularity of the method, the profits dried up. For the last few days I've been coming up with my own methods based on the strategies you showed, and the money has been flowing in. I was making 4-6d an hour mapping and now I'm pulling like 20d an HR with more and more projects coming to mind every day. Thanks for your perspective and I do wholeheartedly agree so many people write off this part of the game due to their own inability to explore it.
You are correct that they are cheaper in the begining but they are never free like you describe. Cluster jewels are 50+c, Tempering Obs were 60-80+c. 47:30 - on the other hand these people are unlikely to be rich / ready to overpay for off meta / meme build. 52:20 - how do you make +2 ammy with some suffixes for 3 Divines my dude?
My two favorite Oh Shit! moments I've had in previous leagues were where I identified a market that I could take advantage of. One was the Doryani's Machinarium map, where I would buy the map up and make boots that were very sought after, making something along the lines of 100c profit every time. This was huge to me. The second was just before the Encroaching Darkness card got it's drop rate nerfed, I remember this time because it was quite easy to get the Hallowed Ground unique map, as a T16, for very cheap. I would then run these maps and either run or sell off the high tier red maps that dropped from the boss. Over 5500 hours now, and I'm learning new things every day. I'm cataloguing everything I find at this point, starting after watching your video series here Belton. Strategies that I can look into each league to see where there's an opening and how I can go about taking advantage of it. Something I'll be looking at is Vile Arrow Quivers with Redeemer and Warlord influenced mods of Extra Cold and Extra Fire, which even now currently sell for slightly less than 1D just with those two mods. Your flask crafting strategy, how to make +2 amulets, all of it, I want to absorb it all!

This league was a fantastic experience for me, I hadn't played the last league, so I was very rusty, I always saw people with their very expensive uniques and I felt jealous because I didn't get that kind of riches within the game. Before the league started, a few weeks before, I started planning what I was going to do, defined my goals and analyzed a bunch of currency farm routes. I had in mind that this league was my turn to have an amazing unique. With two and a half weeks into the league, a few TFT interactions, and a subtle eye on what the content creators were up to, I was able to buy my mageblood. I can agree with every word that was said in this video because in this game, it's not just a matter of time and how you manage your time, but the mindset you have behind it.
The part about needing a community made me really sad for how true it is. I started PoE in 2016 when I realized I prefer focusing on one single game, rather than jumping from one to another like my real life friends do. Then, after thousands of hours, some friends did start playing poe as well and I created a guild for every one of us. We did learn a lot together, we had some great moments and the pandemic went by very fast because of how much fun we were having. However, now I need to leave that empty place but it's sort of difficult doing so. Oof.
man this popped up in my recommended and i'm sold. I remember you popping up on reddit for the omni belt craft. i've played since legion and crafting beyond alt spamming some clusters always seemed beyond me. usually make 2-300 divines just through farming maps, mechanics, and bosses. i'm pretty sure i'm going to take the rest of this extended league and try to invest any excess currency in learning some of these techniques and building my base of knowledge when it comes to crafting and investing in poe. i've put it off for a long time but this video has me intrigued and ready to just go try things for the sake of learning.

I’ve been playing for years and I’m finally taking the time to learn alternative ways of making currency to further my enjoyment of the game.
I really like the part about having a friend or small community of people you trust to help each other out. I'm playing the Impending Doom Pathfinder build (Steel's build) and my friend made one just after me. We've helped each other so much this league alone (although we met trading Incubator's in Ritual and played a lot together since). I seen a perfect shield for my build, he lent me the 12 Div I was short until I got it, I just upgraded (side graded really) my boots, I gave them to him instead of selling them, we constantly bounce ideas off each other, it's a much better game when you have someone or some people like that to game with.
Pretty much all of this advice applies to life in general. Take anything poe related and replace it with a real life situation and it still works 100%. I hope more people stumble onto this, it's great!
I was listening in the background and for a while i completely forgot youre talking about POE lol, alot of yoour wisdom can be applied to real world markets, personal development and life as a whole, very well put video!
Another excellent video. It’s amazing how much the PoE economy behaves like a “real” economy. You touch on some topics that any financial advisor or Wall Street investor is well versed in. The velocity of money, having well diversified investments, not having idle money, and even having a network of creditors you can borrow from.

The citing a streamer part resonated with me. I think the more general way to say it is a false appeal to authority. This person has this job / has done well in the past, therefor they can't be incorrect or missing a crucial part of the situation.

I really want to get to a point where I have enough currency and knowledge to craft gear that let's me play my dumpster ideas. I like playing popcorn srs but with ignite / prolif. It makes it so much better for clearing but it is hard to scale. This was the first league I made a minion damage, +3 fire, +2 all spells, staff. It was super lucky and has no value outside of this build in the wider economy, but it is what I needed. I am farming more currency to finish doing prefixes can't be changed and maybe veiled chaos spam.
Really cool that im watching this video today, this league I noticed that farming juiced Crimson temple is so much fun but after aorund 100 maps im burned out, but I can switch to corrupting gema and items, heist, craft, for the next league I wanna try and have lets say 5 strategie that i really enjoy and just flip between them, and also try new ones

How do you come up with the stat "Double corrupting an exceptional gem is 1/4"? How do I find the the chance is to craft something or corrupt something. Earlier you said "Probability X Material Cost = Average cost to craft/create something". How do I figure out these values myself? Like you called out serrated fossils for a 1-54 chance for cluster jewel. How do I add that all up?
It's almost a paradox right, we can do what we love in this game because there are so many people playing the game just copy-pasting streamers and youtubers who told them how to play the game. Without them we wouldn't be able to make the currency so easily, it's funny to think about. 11 years in the game now, and I always play just with my own goals every league (heck even off-league in Standard sometimes), and I change them up unconsciously, making me keep playing this game, it's amazing.
I really enjoy these kinds of videos, it's nice with strats sure, but as you said, if everyone is doing it I wont make much of it anyways. I like to hear your view of the game and your thoughts of it, so I can evolve and start to maybe see the game in a different light. Big thx!

Really good video. There is one thing that usually stops me when i want to try something new to make currency, the time for the item to be sold. Lets Say I have 40 div. I know I can craft something really good for about 40div and prob can sell it for more. But i don't know how much time it Will take for it to sell. So i would have a lot of opportunity cost for having that much currency sank into that item. How do You tackle this problem? I'm pretty sure it's just a mentality issue. But maybe You have a system of lets Say You always keep 10 div for new strategies or opportunities. It doesnt have to be 1 expensive item, the same could be said for a strategy with like 10 4 div ítems. I don't know how liquid the ítems are and that makes me not want to try it

watched the whole hour ... great video and thoughts ,, i just had an idea that it would be very cool to have like a google doc involving techniques to use to various stages in the league and i think it would be very helpful for various players ,, i do realize that in making it it would lower the value of everything inside but nevertheless i think it would be far greater benefit to the overall people who enjoy this style of gameplay
Risk is the thing keeping me down. I have not in spite of playing this game for years figured out how to make enough seed currency to do the strategies that make real wealth. I am in a position where if I gamble and lose, I literally lose my ability to continue without tons of farming which most likely will not yield me enough currency to try again again. I guess it is the risk and RNG that is getting in my way.
Spend a few hours purchasing Essences of insanity/hysteria/delirium and using harvest to turn them into horror, sell in bulk do this for a few hours at any point in the league, has never once failed me to get a reasonable incoming moving to do profit crafting.
How Reasonable we talking where i’m each of those are expensive but if its worth i’m willing to write it down and keep it saved so many ways to make money I don’t know as a new player. I’m hunkering down on flask right now.@@HalfPastThor
@@gdraggon9589 earlier on in the league they are less expensive but your basically making almost a 10c profit per one you change to horror and then if you save a bunch up and sell them in bulk for divines you get even more profit and they sell fast usually

For me, what always works good early/mid-league is just pick up Rare Jewels ilvl82+ and put them in a ~1 div b/o tab and then start lowering every few days. Super low effort, no investment, and something always sells. Infinitely better than picking up nothing or leaving your tabs empty
I've wanted to do this for some time and I feel you may be the perfect person to ask first. If you have ever considered a "partner in crime" I would love to work out a system with you, likely within a guild stash, where I can feed you whatever you are looking for so that you can craft/create/mutually flip and we split the profit I would love to do so. I would start by asking for only 20% profit and if it goes well then the following leagues it would be closer to a true split. I don't stream so anything content worthy would be completely yours to create, nothing but currency and partnership wanted by myself
Honestly just by mapping you should be able to earn a decent amount of currency early. I feel like a lot of people are looking for that easy quick buck early but just by playing the game and reaching T16s should earn you decent money. T16s sell for a decent amount early, esp to players playing in groups who are looking for large numbers of red maps i.e. toxic sewers. You could also do basic crafts on things like leather belts or stygian vise, looking for decent res and life rolls, which could easily sell for a decent chunk of chaos early in the league. Other things to look out for are onslaught boots with decent life/res rolls. Basically anything which rolls life & res sells fast as a lot of people are looking for those and not gg items within the first few days. Other easy to craft items are abyss jewels or cluster jewels, you can really just take your pick. If you hate crafting or trading, there's always Expedition which always guarantees good returns through Tujen/Dannig, though the mods are pretty rippy early. Harbingers are also pretty good for pure currency and much less rippy than Expedition. Divs are really cheap early you can then use the chaos you got from those easy crafts and stock quite a few.

I think main reason you lose viewers in first 30 seconds is because they realise all your vides are like 1h+ long. People nowadays are not used to such long videos tbh

Can you make currency making video for standrat leage pls. a lot of items are much more expensive and not that much players need bad items so its hard do do anyting for me. im new
Do not play standard if you are a new player; in league you are 1 month behind the curve. In standard you are 10 years behind. If you choose to continue to play there in spite of that, the honest answer is no, I won't and never will. I have hundreds if not thousands of mirrors in standard, and still have no consideration for it. It is not, in my opinion, an actual version of the game with respect to how it would be experienced compared to a league. If you are new to the game I would strongly consider immediately switching to Sanctum
It being one's own fault if they can't make money might be true if it didn't take 5 years to learn all the in's and outs in this game. PoE has possibly the worst managed way of a new player learning of any game I have played. Nothing in game teaches you, it takes hundreds of hours watching videos made purposely being duplicitous to the watcher. The content creator knows the watcher can not sell these crafted items for what the streamer says they can and then the watcher has to figure out what the content creator is hiding. "Hey you can make Divines just like me, just roll these items and use these probabilities, now I did all that on a 50 Divine budget" Hello??? The vast majority of players are lucky to make 15 in a league. Where are they going to get the Divines needed to buy the mats you are showing these fantastic strats for? There is basically zero videos out there showing new players how make basic currency when they have none. How do you go from 15 chaos to 30 divines in a day? If you haven't memorized hundreds of statistics because you haven't played the game for 10 years how are you going to make those trades? That's a BS argument. I watch a streamer that does some amazing things, BUT he got a 40 Divine loan to buy his start up gear from a friend. He didn't do it on his own. I watch other streamers who has a team of players generating currency and funneling it to the streamer. They didn't do it either by themselves. This is how they lie and say "It's easy" you can do it too. It's like a video of the content creator saying he's doing a video of a 4hr run and you can do it to, then you watch it and find out the content creator has a team working for him, has multiple monitors, has people feeding him live information as he's playing so he doesn't have to stop and look it up. Has gear already purchased and in his bank. Uses false prices to buy gear. I watched a Streamer say he was going to do a build for under 40 chaos and used armor scraps to represent chaos, then he estimated how much he could by them for. It cost him 40 Chaos it costed me 2 Divine because those prices don't actually exist. Saying the price on trade is "ridiculous" does not change the market and what it actually cost to purchase. I watch people craft items and then say they are worth multiple Divines when I now awaked PoE gives very lose pricing. Go look at the actual trade information awakened poe is basing its information and and 9/10 times the states are going to be very different from the item you have. That is because Awakened PoE bases it's information very loosely compared to the item you actually have. You have to actually go to trade and look, Awakened PoE is no where near good enough to say your item is going to sell for the price they give you. People say they made a Mirror item and then never sell it for a mirror. I know a fellow just yesterday said he was going to lower his "Mirror rolled item" an and sell it for 150 divine. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So I'm going to disagree that it's ones own fault unless that person is a well seasons player with the full knowledge of the game.

your content is outstanding in the poe community but you miss a lot of hits on your audience I guess just because you just talk in a quite unstructured way. Treat your videos like your trades. Set a goal, work towards and stop right there. Next video. Instead of 60 minutes with a couple of xk views make 4 x 20 min with an actual on point message and gain even more views.
50:41 I have just learned, that I need to be 24/7 on poe, with 80 stash tabs so my shop is always open for business even if that is not actually the case because I am a human that needs sleep
