A new gen starts when one or several groups change the scene of kpop, and I feel like it kinda happened with NewJeans but they are still 4th gen so I don't see why 5th gen would have started if not by them. edit: to people who simply reply that NewJeans are 4th gen, yes I don't disagree with it, I'm just saying that if there is ONE group that would have started 5th gen it would be them, but it's not the case so why people say 5th gen has started..
