Actually nobody was so much aware of mirza ghalib shayri except those who studied urdu littereature it was only after jagjit singh sang his ghazals or gave his voice and music to his ghazals which is why they became famous thanks to him may his soul rest in piece great loss ,who all agrees.

I dont agree with your urdu literature theory, I haven't studied urdu literature but I am in love with my mother tongue Urdu and Mirza Ghalib which are inseperable. It is simply a matter of knowledge and appreciation of the language and its literature. Why say that Ghalib became famous only after Jagjit Singh rendered his voice to his ghazals, its absolutely rubbish. Ghalib has been famous and loved in all the times.
