A word of caution which I've seen mentioned on other videos on this plant: they talk about flammability. Probably not the thing to plant too close to a house or where bush fires are a concern.
I could suggest wetting the dry material and then using a briquette press designed for newspaper, perhaps adding a bit of wallpaper paste to the water so they don’t fall apart? The issue is not to add energy by chopping the grass to then burn it.
no need in europe , in wintertime the grass pulls it's nutrients from the stems into the roots. which it uses the next season to grow new stems. (at this time the stems are cut and collected) If you want to harvest it when they are green , yes it will need fertiliser, otherwise they don't.
